    One thing you missed is that Jono 2nd also drops Meteor B. Dragon, just albeit at a lower drop rate, so it is technically possible to have one before fighting any mages - I got it on my 300th duel with him.
    I then duelled Meadow Mage and got another one on my tenth win!

    One of the tricks I learned is
    1. If at start of the duel you don't have the necessary card to fuse up and equip to become a strong card, then play FACEUP in defense mode any weak MONSTER card you don't need. Most of the time the AI opponent will summon weaker card or regular card instead of their OG gate guardian, meteor black dragons, etc.
    2. You can also gamble by summoning a good but not great card in face down ATTACK position. Sometimes the AI opponent may think you are confident with your strong card and thus will also summon their card but either put their card in defense facedown or faceup attack without attacking your card. But sometimes they still attack though.

    • @BoltSpider
      @BoltSpider  Před 9 měsíci

      One thing that I did learn as well from others is that if you defeat a monster the AI will most times try to summon something equal to or as weaker as the destroyed monster

    Let's just says there is a reason why everyone plays the 15 card mod rather that the original (unless you play the Tournament only). I won a Meteor at my second duel with Meadow Mage with the mod and there is people that create a 30 card mod. With the 30 card mod,the only card it can take you time win is Megamorph

    • @sann8782
      @sann8782 Před 8 měsíci +6

      Don't like that. Would be better to create a mod with more reasonable drop rates. If ur getting 30 drops a duel might as well just cheat and start the game with all the cards then.

    • @kingofgrim4761
      @kingofgrim4761 Před 7 měsíci

      @@sann8782very true, at 30 cards a pop you’re basically gonna have a ridiculous amount of extras. My 15 card drop still took a bit to grind with, and was more fun than the original, I mean to get the same cards I got I would’ve had to play 700+ duels 😅 or for certain opponents likely around 50-100 wins rather than 10-20.
      I think the main problem with your idea is simply the amount of cards wouldn’t be possible to incorporate like that without adding 5-dozens of opponents.

    • @Jukeboksi
      @Jukeboksi Před 7 měsíci

      The first time I played this game I played it straight and got a MBD drop from Meadow Mage on my 412th duel…after that first playthrough and game clear, I only play the 15-card mod. Playing the game like originally intended is a blast but time is a resource and I’d rather use it in other ways than re-grinding for drops when you can instead do a 1-2hr run for some fun.

    If you want to be stronger early. Duel Simon to get Time Wizard, as this card + any dragon you can fuse Thousand Dragon.
    And to get some dragons and some thunders, the best choice is the Village 3. For example you can get dragon zombie from him + just 1 thunder you can fuse THTD right away.

    Quality check. I appreciate that you put effort in to making this, but there's quite a bit of information that's incorrect. Isis can draw in to B. Skull Dragon, Meadow Mage does not drop Gaia the Dragon champion, and you can not fight all 3 villagers in the 2nd half of the game. Heishin, "High Shin", Heinz Ketchup Shin.

      There's more, but I recommend doing better research on this game.

    • @BoltSpider
      @BoltSpider  Před 10 měsíci +4

      1. I misspoke about Gaia the Dragon Champion for Gaia the Fierce Knight
      2. Villager 3 is still there you can talk to him but he doesn't duel any more
      3. Sure Isis can draw into a B. Skull Dragon but that is a .49% chance of happening but IN QUOTE from the video:
      "can give you a run for your money, as these 3 can have powerful monsters if you aren’t ready, ranging from Black Skull Dragon from Isis"
      4. Heishin, High Shin it doesn't matter as people pronounce his name differently all the time from Hei-Shin to High Shin.
      I see where you are coming from with all the feedback and things to point out, the video is already out and published and I don't want to spend any more time on it as in my eyes its what child me wanted. These are just small nitpicks imo. I did tons of research into the game, sure I might've gotten things wrong but, I cannot stress this enough, we are humans. We all make mistakes, nothing can ever be perfect.

    • @keepitsecret-dl1pr
      @keepitsecret-dl1pr Před 10 měsíci +3

      Reshef was deliberately made difficult because its predecessor, The Sacred Cards, was criticised as being too easy. And yes, I would say it is harder than Forbidden Memories. I played it when I was young, but just used an GBA Action Replay because it was just ridiculous. To make it to the end of that game will take you 100s of hours.
      Forbidden Memories is a much, much better game, but if you want a very realistic, true-to-life Yu-Gi-Oh card game experience, look no further than The Eternal Duelist Soul - it looks pretty underwhelming, but the accuracy to the actual card game is amazing; there's just no ban list, so prepare to be raigeki'd, pot of greed'd, cyber jar'd, graceful charity'd and delinquent duo'd like no tomorrow!

    I remember getting so lucky with Jono 2 getting a meteor black dragon drop within 50 duels
    And unlucky with Pegasus. S or A teching via deck out almost 100 times (I know, it took a long while) and only got one bright castle and one widespread ruin
    But low meadow mage was my best rng, getting all the best cards from him twice each within 60-70 duels
    I remember my first 5 duels netted me skull knight, Dark magician and gaia

  • @gabrielsouza9948
    @gabrielsouza9948 Před měsícem +1

    The RNG with card drops is absolutely crazy to see.
    Consider Meteor B. Dragon drops under A or S Pow from Meadow Mage.
    Depending on how you end a duel, even if the "multiple endings" ends with an A or S Pow, you may drop different cards.
    In the winning round, depending if you use an extra fusion, it's a drop, and if you fuse twice in that same round, it will drop a whole different card; and this goes if in the same round you decide to use an equip, or two, or three, or having a bonus with the guardian stars, or deciding to battle using that animation (pressing Square) or not... It will give different cards for each condition.
    Edit: you may not have that MBD dropped with your A/S-Pow, but maybe YOU from an alternate timeline, deciding to do something else in the winning round, just dropped it. Cheers!

    I remember as a 10 or 12 year old (early to mid 2000s) grinding this game HARD after a few year hiatus (so most of my life at that point), getting as far as fighting DarkNite (so, not even Nitemare, the final boss, but the 2nd-to-final boss), losing, and then starting the battle gauntlet ALL OVER AGAIN, thus causing me to abruptly quit altogether forever. I never cheated or anything, but I DID get VERY good at fusing towards Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon and Meteor B. Dragon, which were my aces in the hole.
    Now that emulators exist, I'm gonna just gameshark some powerful cards into my starter deck and mow through the game for fun! 😁

    This is getting on my nerves so let me correct you: Ishizu is the correct name. Isis is not pronounced "eye-sis", but "ee-sis", as it's an egyptian name. To write Isis in japanese you convert "si" into "shi" (Si doesn't exist in japanese) and the "s" at the end becomes "su" or "zu", as "s" doesn't exist in japanese. Why IshiZU and not IshiSU? Because the S in the end of Isis sounds like a Z more than an S proper, so it's translated to Zu.
    TL;DR: Ishizu is simply how you write Isis in the japanese alphabet, and is pronounced "ee-sis".

    • @BoltSpider
      @BoltSpider  Před 9 měsíci

      Isis was the official name in this game before Ishizu was named Ishizu since this was made in 1999 so I was going of the basis of that like a few others in their videos. Since this game was made in 1999 Ishizu's real name wasn't brought up till 2002 so there is that merit too.
      Plus everyone pronounces things differently and that is how I pronounce it.

      the thing about forbidden memories is that once you grind enough equip spells and a few monsters, at least in the 1500 range, you can get a 4000+ monster with the field spell advantage and some luck, the rest is mostly, not attacking into a trap or just a very unlucky raigeki.@@BoltSpider
      Reshef is just a bunch of unfavorable dynamics stacked on top of each other. The deck capacity feature is horrendous so even if you somehow get good cards , you may not be able to have them in your deck, your capacity to sell or ante is limited, the cards often cost too much, life points are not only a health bar but some opponents have multiple times your 8000! and the list goes on and on.

    • @VicViper
      @VicViper Před 7 měsíci +1

      In any RPG, this would be considered power grinding to overlevel your opponent. The process of grinding isn't "hard" in virtually every RPG, even RPGs considered brutally difficult like Phantasy Star II can be made super easy if you decide to go out of your way to farm for a dozen hours, then the dungeons are just a guessing game as to where to go.
      Except, Forbidden Memories' grind ITSELF is an RNG fest. It could last 20 minutes like it could last 20 hours, or 40 hours, or virtually forever. The only thing that "levels up" is your deck, and it decides to "level up" whenever it wants. When I was a kid I was playing this game religiously, and my best card was a 1850 Atk Metal Dragon and couldn't beat Seto 2nd in the story. I couldn't get ANYTHING stronger for the life of me.
      The kinds of things said in the video when it comes to card drops and recommendations, people aren't supposed to know about that going into the game blind. It's a test of patience & knowledge. Obviously the game gets tons easier when you know about certain techniques and the fusion system, but they aren't clear AT ALL to a new player, and any new player shouldn't know about all that.
      Because how the heck are you supposed to know that a less than 1% drop of the 3rd strongest monster of the game exists in a fight that's counterintuitively gained from the Meadow grunt, and not the Meadow High Mage or any of the stronger opponents?
      How am I supposed to know how to reliably A or S-Tec an opponent without a deck out? Is it listed in the manual?
      How am I supposed to deck out characters early when I have to depend on fusions to protect myself, and thus burning my cards faster than the opponent does? (and we all start before the CPU, so if the CPU doesn't fuse, tough luck, buttercup)
      How am I supposed to know that certain cards are locked behind the Pocketstation or absurd requirements? Want to use Ishizu's Swords of Revealing Lights? Well too bad, I guess I dueled her dozens of times to learn you can only get it by spending 1 million starships! Oh but apparently you can get one by fusing two Spellbinding Circles & Dark Piercing Light together... Oh yeah. What an idiot I am for my inhability to guess that.
      How am I supposed to understand the logic of the fusion system and its faults, like for example that some female monster cards don't count as females and thus bust my Mystical Sand fusions? Or, like previously, that fusing certain Magic & Trap cards create new ones, or even freaking Ritual cards?
      I was there. The non-internet/non-cheat/non-outside-help experience of this game is *"try shit for dozens of hours until it sticks"*. Any game with prior experience and obscure & deep knowledge is going to be easy to the individual. That doesn't mean it is going to be easy for the intended & expected experience.
