    I haven’t bought any of his tools but I see a lot of comments saying they are overpriced. Perhaps people are used to the price of Chinese stuff which is exactly why so many western companies that made quality products went out of business, they catered to quality rather than price. People don’t want to pay the prices of local materials and local manufacturers for high quality tools. Personally, I admire his drive to make quality tools and manufacture them IN the USA. I wish Jason all the best with his business. All those people saying bring manufacturing home, time to put your money where your mouth is. Cheers, Stuart 🇦🇺

      Anyone who knows what things cost won't say they're overpriced. Are they expensive? Yes. But nothing more than anything else of quality. And as far as I've seen, they are definitely quality. I'm just happy to see Jason working to find some of those stop-gap tooling like the dragon wagon that can be at a more reasonable price point for smaller shops

    It really is a shame when starting a hobby or a business that people think they can buy the lowest price stuff “and it’ll be good enough”. Sadly, there’s a landfill full of stuff that in reality is “good for nothing”. I’m not here to promote Fireball brands, but, I do believe in the “buy once, cry once “ philosophy of a system that you can grow into.

      Just looked at the specs for the Langmuir, it's much thinner at 3/8 and 5/16". Presumably non coated as well? The fireball stuff certainly ain't cheap, but it sure looks beefy.

    • @ethanmye-rs
      @ethanmye-rs Před 5 měsíci +3

      3/8 vs 1/2” for the top. Curiously, they are the same weight. Dragon scale looks like a parkerized finish.
      You could get a 2x or even 3x bigger table for the same price as a table that’s an extra 1/8 thick.

    • @melgross
      @melgross Před 5 měsíci +1

      No, it’s not. Any top the same dimensions will look the same in a video. The Languimir is much more cheaply built. It also has 16mm holes, which is fine. The leg set, which is extra, is flimsy and doesn’t sit rigidly. Frankly, it’s not great. If you want a much better version of it, look at the Primeweld. It’s the same top, with machined corners in the bottom for the much sturdier legs and much better leveling feet. It’s also nitride coated, and it’s even less than the Languimir. Both are fine for small, light work, but neither is really a heavy precision table.

    • @user-gz6fn2yx9f
      @user-gz6fn2yx9f Před 5 měsíci +3

      Langmuir tables suck. They are cheap thin castings. Lots of videos showing how warped they are. You get what you pay for. Jason doesn’t make crap tools. He over builds everything.

    Jason turns off comments in CZcams because (I'm guessing) he can't handle criticism, whether constructive or otherwise (comments are allowed on his website, where he can control them... thinking of another fella who bought a website he didn't like the comments on) . I think that is sad since he critiques everyone else's products, in an effort to make his products better, but won't allow thoughts on his products. his designs seem great to me... But I have heard that the price you pay for his tools is not represented in the quality of tools he sells. A little criticism might be hard to take, but might benefit everyone in the long run.
