Well she might be more respected if she sorted out the TV licence issue out IMMEDIATELY. How can any Government allow the BBC to overturn decision made by our Parliament to offer free TV licences to the over 75's almost 2 decades ago. It makes a complete mockery of our long established Political System! I am 79 years of age and have paid for a licence for over 50 years but now live alone. So why should I be expected to pay for a licence for a service no longer fit for purpose and no longer of interest to me? I now have a redundant flat screen TV set and upgraded aerial at a cost of over £350. When will Common sense prevail. I hope the by elections 23rd June prove a point to this arrogant Government. We cannot wait for the next General Election. The country has already been destroyed!

Because the government gave no extra money to the BBC to fund that decision. It's a bit like sharing a house with someone and suddenly saying to the other person, 'by the way, from now on you will pay my half of the bill too'.
