What are you reading right now?
I am reading “The Woods are Always Watching” by Stephanie Perkins and then I finally got “The Hawthorne Legacy”. Can’t wait to read that. A lot of ppl are saying it’s underwhelming though but I really liked the other books in the series so I am gonna give it a try.

I’m reading the first book of the new fantasy trilogy “realm breaker“ by Victoria Aveyard and I really hope she doesn’t mess up the characters this time! I literally hated every character in the red queen series… I just couldn’t like or relate to any of the characters and the main character Mare was just horrible 🥲

What a delight it must have been to have the cafe to yourself! Go, you. "Bank" in Mandarin (銀行) is "yin hang" (literally "silver hall") and sounds more like the Korean than the Japanese.
Now the question is - what do they call Ginko trees?!
@@caricanread Ginko tree is 銀杏樹 (yin xing shu -- silver apricot tree) ^J^. I learned a new Chinese word today. hahah. What's cool about the character for "apricot" is that consists of the characters of "wood" and "mouth/opening".

I was so excited for Vespertine, but put it down about 100 pages in because it was definitely not what I was expecting. You made me want to pick it back up again! I’m working through the Throne of Glass series now but might finish Vespertine between books.
omg i feel like vespertine is the anti-throne of glass ahahaha i think it gets more endearing as it goes along and its nice to see the main character grow but yeah it really didnt have what i loved about sorcery of thorns :/

If you love moss you should visit the Hoh National Forest. It's a rainforest in Washington state and when I visited I had never seen so much moss in my life!!
I just finished this book and I absolutely loved it 🥲Call me crazy, but I THINK there's potential for a romance in the next book...

i'm really hoping vespertine turns into like, a series of companion novels so we can learn more about how the spirits and revenants work more!! i think artemecia's story ended really well, so maybe we can follow someone else in the next book and see that world from another POV?? i just really like the concept of using trapped souls as a magic system

That cafe looks... like a dream come true, outside and inside! I wonder if the leaves will change color, vines near my building already have and it's a sea of red, green, yellow and orange. Although I loved Enchantment of Ravens, I don't know why Vespertine is not really drawing me in, at all. Maybe one day! I am finishing Witch Haven and starting The Binding, per your rec :)
i know that they really decorate for christmas so im excited for that! and yeah the book is really different from her other two, but looking back i think i enjoy it more? some of it was hard to get through but now im thinking back on the story fondly :)

Saw your IG story that you were gonna post this video at around 4:30 am my time, set my alarm, got back to reading Sorcery (just crossed 50% mark), then FELL ASLEEP at I guess 3:30 am??? Slept through the alarm didn't notice in the morning either, spent the whole day thinking "Hmmm I was supposed to do something nice today" and finally.. FINALLY came here and Remembered...
