    The 200x cartoon was incredible! It's such a shame that Netflix wasn't around at the time because it would have been a much better platform for it instead of Cartoon Network, which was ultimately responsible for its demise. CN was awful with how often they would change show times. I would love to see this story continued with the same animation.
    I am glad that the permanent snake MAA didn't happen though because it was cool for them to be changed and brought back. That actually brings up a question, did you plan on doing Snake Teela, Mekaneck or any of the others in MOTUC to go with 🐍 MAA?
    Man...you and the Horsemen did such a great job with MOTUC! It is awesome to have a collection that blends different elements of MOTU lore all into one awesome universe.
    I'd be curious to see a video detailing some of the biggest challenges you had with specific characters or their stories, what were the biggest "wins" for you on this line and what are some things that you wish were different or could change now that you've been able to see the line come full circle from start to finish (as of now)?

    200X was my He-Man. I was five years old, I remember having all of the McDonald's Happy Meal toys and bringing them to school in Kindergarten. That Christmas, my grandmother got me Castle Grayskull, He-Man, Skeletor, Tri-Klops and Man-At-Arms, and I think a DVD or VHS that had a few episodes. I loved those toys. Sadly, I lost them all years ago. I really hope that the upcoming 2021 Masterverse line could do 200X He-Man.

    Extremely interesting to see where 200x was headed!
    Also, I find it very interesting what you said about the 'Barbarian Look' not testing well with kids. I'm on several message boards, and any time I've said that I think Sword & Sorcery had it's HeyDay in the 80s, I get shouted down. ( Yes, MOTU is S&S mixed with Sci-Fi, but that's not remotely the point ) A lot of fans tend to forget that time moves on, and just because you loved something as a child, that popularity may not continue with the next generation.

    • @spectorcreative1872
      @spectorcreative1872  Před 4 lety +4

    I’m curious, do you have a video explaining why you no longer work for Mattel? Are you still on good terms with Mattel? Is there any future possibility that if they reached out that you’d be willing to become the MOTU brand manager considering how passionate you are for MOTU and have done great things for the brand.

    If Kevin Smith can revamp the 1st MOTU.
    Surely he could do the 200x wrap up.
    S3 should have happened they left it on a cliffhanger which was wrong ok the toys where a big part of it but Surely the ratings helped too.
    The thing I loved about the 200x show you fully believed Adam was a 16/18 kid then going into He-man as a 30/31 year old Bodybuilder.
    Plus how could you not bring She-ra if you could do sort of the same storyline but different as the 1st show.

    Honestly, if this was the plan for the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the 200X He-man series, I am actually glad that it stopped when it did. The sorceress dying from the poison of king hiss, King Randor being banished, He-man being framed for murder, Skeletor taking over Eternia, and the possibility of no She-ra in this continuity are ideas I just can't get behind, even if they allow the series to continue. I know that dark elements in the story could have made the 200X series of He-man more interesting, but I would much rather have He-man end on a positive note than have the story continue on a darker path without She-ra.

    You can clearly see why the 200x series got canned! It was becoming too dark for young children! You just can't kill off the heroes, and make a three way battle of evil, without having heroic warriors in the series. That doesn't do well for the youth, and for me either! That's why Filmation will always be my Masters Of The Universe! I loved the 200x series until the snake-men arrived. Just too much of it. Just my opinion, but everyone has their favs.

    • @XFactorz17
      @XFactorz17 Před 4 lety +5

      lol that had nothing at all to do with why it was canceled. Kids aren't dumb and don't need things to be watered down with no danger. For the generation that made MOTU the hit that it became, we watched movies like Conan, Rambo, Revenge of the Ninja, Star Wars, Enter the Dragon, Cobra, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Krull, Commando, Alien, Friday the 13th, NoES, etc...where there were on screen deaths, violence and dare I say...nudity! 😱
      Although I liked watching cartoons like He-Man and G.I.JOE as a kid, I always remember thinking it didn't make any sense for He-Man to not just end Skeletor once and for all by actually using his sword or why G.I.JOE didn't have Snake-Eyes (or any other Joe) put an end to the terrorist organization once and for all by ending Cobra Commander, Destro, Serpentor and Zartan.
      People try to convince themselves of what children should like or what they wish they were like but in reality a child's mind is curious and constantly seeking understanding to figure out life and death is part of that. When we take away repercussions and consequences from stories and leave them with crap like Pokémon, POGs and Power Rangers, we end up with generations of weird, whiney, entitled, cry baby adults with manbuns and everyone deserving a trophy.

    • @Beedo_Sookcool
      @Beedo_Sookcool Před 4 lety +3

      Nah, the biggest part of why Millennial Reboot floundered because of "Kenner Batman Syndrome." As in, loads of weird variants of the main character and main antagonist, but other characters were short-packed, sometimes as few as one-per-case. And when those got bought (usually by scalpers), the shelves were clogged with (hyperbole for comedic purposes) Neon Scuba Laser Grappling Hook He-Man with Net Launcher that never showed up in the cartoon, and nobody wanted to buy. Meanwhile, if you or your kids wanted an Evil-Lyn, you had to find a scalper online and pay at least triple price for her. And then toy sales declined, which contributed to the cancelling of the cartoon.
      As much as I loved the Filmation cartoon for its world-building, fun, and attempting to instill some good old-fashioned values -- and some good progressive ones, too -- I have to hand it to MYP and the relaunch for superior overall storytelling. While any Filmation episode involving Granamyr (for example) is automatically going to make it into my list of favourite cartoon episodes somewhere, and I will always support Filmation and think fondly of it, I think the MYP cartoon had a much higher ratio of good episodes vs. duds.
