- Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic Multiplayer Monday! Today we are are doing a glider challenge! We have 2 main events: Long distance gliding, and precision gliding. We have 15 minutes to build a glider than can soar through the air unpowered and participate in each event. In the long distance challenge, whoever gets the farthest wins. In the precision gliding challenge, you must glide through an archway, and land as close to the target as possible!

It was longitudinal symmetrical, so there wasn't much to keep it going in a straight line.

Durfs was the most ingenious, taking advantage of Scrap Mechanics "aerodynamics" and venturing from the conventional plane concept. With some time at its cockpit, Durf can fly that thing very well

My analysis:
ScrapMan - followed the rules the most
Kan - followed rules but over complicated it
Durf - creativity points. Made H3’s flying pancake

You should do this in trail makers, it would be absolutely amazing especially since you already have the glide mechanics built in

Could you use explosives to initially propel a glider? Like, figure out how much metal or wood or concrete a large explosive will destroy, slap down a large explosive with a buffer of the precise width with your glider welded on, maybe with a cardboard buffer block? Then detonate the explosive(s?) and use the force to fling your glider off a tower!
And this, is something that proves that how something looks doesn't affect how well it flies.

Hey scrapman (of you read this) I just started to play trailmakers a week ago and I uploaded some creations
The name of these are::
1 CscX (original) car
1 CscX demon (original) car
1 CwjX (original ) plane
17 CF1 (original) car
15 CVTOL (original) plane
Im missing some names but the rest of them are also created by inakilarracoechea (me) and may appear just by putting the name of one creation
Durf deserved the win, if he knew how to control his plane properly he could have flown more distance in the first trial and maneuver on the second better than he did
ScrapMan. For next Multiplayer Monday do a Train Biatholon using your Train Race trains from a prior episode
The first part entails a train drag race: whoever can make it to the end of a strait track the fastest wins that round. 1st gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2, 3rd gets 1, 4th gets 0
The second part is a weight challenge. Whoever can pull the most cars (you choose design) wins that number of points
You are allowed 3 thrusters
No glitches
You may modify your trains BUT THEY MUST LOOK IDENTICAL TO WHEN YOU STARTED.

Heres an innovative idea..
A glider/small jet plane race. Where you primarily glide but have one or more rocket thrusters. But theres a catch... you have to touch the ground in order to use a single 3 second boost from your jets. If you need more explanation. Look at the scramjet in grand theft auto 5 or really any cars in GTA 5 that have jets.
They should do plane glider darts 🎯
Just add a scensor to a spud gun. The have a launcher launch a dart/glider and aim it at a cardboard target. Easy!
Scrapman pls re-do the formula one race (first multiplayer monday episode) because i loved that so much! love your vids!
kan's 2nd attempt was actually how you fly forever with elytra in minecraft (Sacrifice speed to get height then sacrifice that for speed! See! Cycle)
The trick to go further is dive down and then tilt the glider just a little and the momentum you got will be used when you go up so further distance
Durf won because of the comical amount of wings and the way it pitches so well.
kan deserves the avrage award derf deserves the innovateive award and sm deserves the perfect plane award for not having to add anything after testing

I think I'm the first to notice, or at least first to point it out, but at 3:14, KAN flies around in a little "seat of power" for a little bit, and Scrapman also notices this and most likely questioned it as well, as the camera stayes in the same position for a few seconds, the equivalent of about 30 in real time. (also, 7:17 is deja vu except entirely opposite. Think back to KAN losing, both of you weld tool, him handbook. Not a good time for him. Also, you both chose weld tool again [except this time KAN instead of Durf] he just had to think back to someone else's losses to get a win in the exact same situation)

I know this is a late comment but I have an idea for a multiplayer Monday. Have either a regular race or downhill no power race. BUT... when you are all done building you to split your vehicle in half and weld someone else’s other half to it.

Well would you rather have a glider that can go really far but has no control, can’t go very far but has great control, or can go decently far and has decent control. I’ve got to give this one to Kan lol great video guys! Keep em coming!

For the next Multiplayer Monday you should do some sort of explosive-based launcher challenge, where you launch something with explosives.
mm idea bomber planes vs castle defenders 3 targets on castle (winner = fastest time)
for Durf, if you pitch one way and the glider goes left then pitch opposite
You should make a 3 seat pedal plane using alternating pistons that the two motor people have to press to pump the blades into motion while the third person takes the controls of pitch, yaw, drag, and roll

Durfs plane didn't fly straight because he had centralised virtical stability, meaning he had no drag at back to keep him straight, and no drag at front to spin him around

Kan should win because his plane worked well for both. Not the best but good. You SM's plane turned well but didn't have range durf had range but no turning. So kans is the best.
Day 1 asking : MAKE a t rex( TOGETHER!!!). player 1:head /head can roar.player 2: left leg/left leg can step. Player 3: right leg/right leg can step. Now paint it any color you want(you can mix and match). Cooperate. Try your best and don’t to mess up!! In scrap mechanic.

make a sack toss challenge, but you all have to use the same launcher and build your own sacks, that you have to control with thrusters on the lowest setting
If you have equal amount of vertical stabilizers on front & back you pretty much cancel out the stability

That was pretty fun. You guys might have to try this Challenge again some time to see who can be a real winner now that you've had experiences. And I have an idea for an exciting challenge for you guys too! So hear me out?
The Caterpillar challenge!
The idea of this is to create walkers of a sort to crawl along the way you want to go! But with special rules As to the construction of the legs, and how many Legs you have to put on it!
1. You need to have an even number of legs on each side. I figure the ideal numbers for this challenge would be something like 8, 10, 12 or more at even numbers, on each side of the vehicle. It's supposed to be a caterpillar after all. I want to see it held to even numbers, in case of those that might to try creating two legs in one in any fashion.
2. The leg has to have a Rotor joint to where it connects to the Chassis of the vehicle, and the foot must be fully static. So no way it can rotate down at that joint like a wheel. But anything between the foot and the chassis is fair game for creativity. Maybe you want some sort of knees? Or do two feet to a leg, where it would count like two legs?
3. Leg dimensions are special that they need to be X blocks away from the joint connecting the chassis, and X blocks going down to the foot. And X is the exact same Variable. how you design the leg between those points is up to you, whether you want to do it like a Straight L shape, slant them down With wedge shapes, or maybe do some stair shapes. Any shape or design is fine, as long as when a foot is solid to the ground, the connecting joining block for the chassis and foot still measure to X outward by X Downward, and has clear joint blocks to measure from. And please no pistons on the legs themselves to change these lengths. (If you want to make it so one of those two can be a Y variable instead, you can tweak this rule. Just as long as legs on left and right sides should ideally be identical.)
4. The foot can be most any block or blocks you want it to be, as long as you've made it clear as to that it's a foot. Maybe you want to make a boot, maybe you want to use small set of stacked tires, or even a giant monster truck tire with the spikes. Just don't go over a dozen pieces to make a foot. And it does need to be attached to be static to the leg joint. So it won't go flexing or rotating after attached to the leg.
From here, I believe the rest of the challenge is up to you guys to setup as you like. So you can decide the racing rules and build times. Do you guys like this idea for a challenge then? :)
