    Thank you for the video.
    I have been looking at the three options you mentioned. I would say, Camel ADV definitely looks to be the best quality.

      Hey, I'm saying The Best from my perspective, not in general of course - and it's all custom so not fair play :)
      Someone actually mentioned another kit I didn't know about so there seems to be more options popping up slowly, which is not surprising.
      The Camel ADV kit is very good but to get it here I'd probably spent more than I did, if you're in US I kind of think it's no brainer to get the Camel unless you already have slip on or want different more robust mounting point. Also the Camel ADV mounting bracket is much better design than anything I saw.

    To me the big win goes to the Huzar, it's tucked up under and actually uses the mounting point to protect the exhaust. I run pannier racks offroad to protect my low exhaust at the moment, but with that one I wouldn't feel any need for protecting it. Also, I don't want to hack up the mount point. I believe with the Huzar you have to cut a small hole in the plastic fender (says 30mm x 20mm)
    edit: and I think it looks pretty good tucked inside, like a 990

    • @JohnSmith-ef8nr
      @JohnSmith-ef8nr Před 3 lety

      I have the Huzar but never tried fitting it, looks good in the youtube vid though.
      Don't fancy chopping the frame mount as it will affect resale value of the bike.

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety

      Hi, yes the bracket would protect the exhaust + it would allow to return to the OEM exhaust if one wants to sell the bike. The luggage rack would of course protect any high exhaust solution, I'm now running rackless system so for me it's a bit different.
      Truth is that as the Huzar is so tucked in it may be possible to use it with something like Adventure Spec or Rally raid minimal luggage racks. I've not tried with mine.

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety

      Hi John, yep that's one of the big no when one thinks about selling the bike.

      @@FARANDFURTHER I think if you are looking for a used Tenere, seeing that someone has fixed the exhaust problem isn't a downside. So I'm looking, and it'd be a definite plus for me if someone had gone to the trouble and expense of solving the exhaust issue. The alternative is sit around until Yamaha fix it in their next model.

      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello, yes I think there will be more and more kits coming up. What I have works with both Outback motortek X-frame racks as well as with Mosko Moto Rackless as you just use heat shield on the exhaust.
      I suspect all other kits would work the same.

  • @gbner9991

    I really hope Yamaha is going to fix this in a future update. Literally all it needs is a replacable hanger that is screwed into the frame like the passenger footpeg, so we can just replace it when something gets damaged. I actually like the exhaust position but right now if you bent it too much or break it you are screwed since it's part of the frame.
    It's just such a weird and unexplainable design decision, just makes no sense to have this exposed part welded to the frame, waiting to get damaged.
    Even sport bikes have them screwed to the subframe. I just hope they are already working on it and don't decide to ignore it...

    Hi you,
    Cool video. But unthinkable in Germany, unfortunately. I have also been thinking about it a lot.
    The problem is really bad because of the swing arm. It's starting to look like that for me too.
    Take care of yourself and maybe it will work out for a meeting soon.
    Best regards
    Franky

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi, why is it unthinkable in Germany? I though that when the exhaust has the EU homologation which Scorpion and Sharon does have then there is no problem doing this. Unless of course the problem is also cutting and changing the mounting point.
      The mounting bracket will get gradually weaker and weaker until you will be bending back and forth constantly. I think at that point the T7rally swing arm protector which I mention in video would be good solution especially if you can't or don't want the high exhaust.

    • @frankythereal
      @frankythereal Před 3 lety

      HI @@FARANDFURTHER
      The problem is that the bracket is welded to the frame of the motorbike. It is forbidden to weld frame parts that have load-bearing functions. In this case the exhaust system of the vehicle. Welding work on load-bearing elements such as the rear frame also requires a permit and may only be carried out by a certified welder.
      And if it has been done, you have to do the TÜV. Since the exhaust tract has been modified. Without complete approval of the exhaust system, you are not allowed to drive here.
      Please don't get me wrong. I think what you are doing is great and I would implement it immediately, but Germany is Germany. They wanted to regulate and define everything. We now even have laws that we have to register tyres that were previously completely unproblematic, that I've had on the bike for over 10 years.
      I would rather be slow in Poland or Romania, there everything is still normal in this respect.
      LG Franky

    This looks neat and what I’d do. I’m pondering a T700 and hate the OEM dustbin of an exhaust. Two things spring to mind: why not do it properly in the first place and second why is there no subframe?

    thanks
    Hugo

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety

      Hi Hugo, it's tough one. On one side I think that some high exhaust conversion is the real solution fot the problem but with the T7rally swing arm protector it could also work.
      I don't really think it matters which kit you get as long as it's legal in your country (so you're not bothered by the police) and you like it it will do the job. I don't like the long hot pipe of the Huzar solution so I'd prefer the Punkmoto or Camel ADV one.
      Also if you don't bend it regularly now you may not have a problem at all. It's not that you HAVE to do high exhaust mod, only if you need to.

    Není jednodušší koupit nosič brašen/kufrů? Ochrání to výfuk a nebude to stát raketu. To za prvé a za druhé moc zakroucené svody budou mít za následek snížení výkonu. Byla motorka na brzdě?

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety

      Čau Petře,
      Co prosím znamená, jestli byla motorka na brzdě? Jako jestli jsem si nechal změřit výkon po tom co se udělali úpravy? Pokud ano tak ne na brzdě nebyla. Z těch řešení co jsem viděl a co jsou de-facto možné pokud chce člověk zachovat supačku tak je to problém. Camel má svod rovnější neboť jede víc ven než jak to mám já například, Huzar a jiní mají ještě strmější úhly.
      Upřímně, kvůli výkonu jsem to nedělal, nemyslím, že by se výkon zhoršil, co jsem to honil 2 týdny na trati tak mi naopak přijde, že to od spoda má víc síly, ale jinak samozřejmě máš pravdu, že když jsou svody moc zakroucený tak to není dobrý, otázka je jestli jsou moc nebo ne :)
      Nosič brašen to bohužel nevyřešil. Měl jsem dlouho Outback Motortek X-Frame a ohýbalo se to stále stejně (když jsem byl samozřemě bez brašen) protože ten výfuk je tak nízko a tak vytočen, že na začátku (u svodů) je přesně místo kde to furt leželo a to místo je trochu níž než rámy.

      I've built a reflex of jumping off the bike if I sense it goes down. There is no point for me to try to save the bike because I'm too short to provide any meaningful support. So I have good crashbars and just leave it fall.

    Jak ti na tom sedí brašny teď? Nepálí se ti to výfuk?

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  Před 3 lety +1

      Ahoj Honzo, ne brašny se nepálí. Já původně měl Outback rámy a starý backcountry a tam samozřejmě vůbec nebyl problém i s předchozím vysokým výfukem.
      Teď zkouším Mosko Rackless a tam je to tak, že od Mosko Moto dostaneš tepelný štít, který se přidělá na výfuk a pokud se ti Rackless výfuku dotýká tak to dáš tak aby se dotýkal na štítu. Funguje to v ponodě a zatím jsem neměl problém ani u starého tak ani u Scorpiona.
      Scorpion je navíc podivně studenej, dáš na něj klidně ruku, ale samozřejmě to chce ho tam mít.
