Alyssa Jacey - Career Announcement Revealed!

My name is Alyssa Jacey. I’m a singer/songwriter, born and raised in San Diego, CA, but Nashville, TN has been home for 12.5 beautiful years.
During the fall of last year, the talent buyer for Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood, came to see one of my headlining shows at City Winery. I was approached after with compliments about the show, specifically on audience engagement and my original songs. They said, “You’d be a perfect addition to perform at our hotel,” which turned into four shows at the hotel earlier this year, which turned into the most unexpectedly incredible conversation and biggest opportunity I’ve ever been presented with in my career, to date.
So here it is! The news I’ve been holding onto since February! Dollywood has hired me to play all-original shows, multiple times a day, multiple shows a month, starting May 10th!!! I’m BESIDE myself!! I begin at the 500-seat, outdoor Back Porch theatre, play a handful of those through June, then I move to the 1,000 seat, indoor Pines theatre July 23rd!
I asked all my questions; Can I wear blue? Yes. Can I have a wireless mic and go into the audience? Yes. Can I make up (age-appropriate) songs on the spot? Yes. Can I sell merch? Yes. Can I memorize names? Yes. Do you want all originals or covers, too? We’d rather all, if not mostly originals and if you WANT, throw a cover or two here and there. We just prefer the ones you put your own spin on.
Mind? BLOWN.
I can’t speak for everyone, but my guess would be that most original, independent, singer/songwriters have similar aspirations as I do; To be recognized, appreciated and celebrated for our authenticity, to be given the freedom to run our shows how we envision them, to get to get to connect with audiences of all ages from all corners of the world, to brighten, lift, move and inspire others and it's icing on the cake to make a living doing it!!! I mean, I am BLESSED!
Thrilled and excited to be performing for the families, and all who travel to east TN specifically to go to Dollywood. I look forward to meeting you, to performing for you! Don’t forget to ‘Bring the crew and wear your BLUE!’ I’ll have tons of blue merch on me and this is important to remember; anyone wearing blue who purchases merch? I donate a portion of your purchase to the Alzheimer’s Association. It’s how I keep my Grammy’s memory alive!

I still can’t believe I’m being honored like this. There are countless absolutely extraordinary and just remarkable singer songwriters, so, to be hand selected to play original music at a venue as warm, welcoming, lively and world renowned as Dollywood, is a dream that I didn’t even know I had, coming true. I will never take this opportunity for granted, and I will always be humbled by and grateful for it.
