    I purchased this sterilizer, but the bottles never dry, even when I put them out to dry by themselves on a drying rack. Did you face it too?

    - How do you clean the machine ? Or the plate you mentioned in another comment that might be hard to clean if it comes into contact with milk ?

      This is what the instructions say for cleaning the heating plate.
      TO CLEAN THE HEATING ELEMENT:
      Mineral deposits may form on the metal heating element in the bottom of the heating chamber. It is important to de-scale this appliance every 4 weeks to ensure that it continues to work properly.
      • Unplug the device.
      • Remove the tray.
      • De-scale utilizing a 3.5oz/100mlmixtureofvinegar/water:
      1) Fill measuring cup to FILL LINE (3oz/80ml) with white vinegar.
      2) Then add cold water up to the dashed line (.5oz/20ml),for a total of
      3.5 oz/100 ml.
      3) Pour directly over the heating element.
      4) Turn the unit on and run a sterilization cycle.
      5) Empty any remaining solution and rinse with clean water.
      NOTE: DO NOT USE BLEACH, HARSH ABRASIVES OR SOLVENTS TO CLEAN THE HEATING CHAMBER OR HEATING ELEMENTS AS THEY MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.

    Is it ok to place the bottles in right after washing ? Or do I wait for them to dry and then place them in the sanitizer ?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 4 lety

      I would place them in right after washing. The sanitizer machine steams/sanitizes and dries them.

    Have you had any issues with the mineral deposits collecting underneath the bottle tray? We clean the machine using the recommended steps, but it seems the machine collects mineral deposits much quicker than every 4 weeks.

      I don’t recall having this issue but it’s been years since my first.

    After sterilized, is the bottle ready to be used for feeding or do I have to wait till it's get dried out all the water /mist.

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 3 lety

      I always just wiped away any excess water before using if needed immediately or they were already fully dry before needing again.

    Do you think this electrical sanitizer is better than the microwave sanitizer?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 5 lety +1

      Hello! I've never tried the microwave sanitizer so I cannot speak to if it's better or not. I'd maybe google to see if anyone has a comparison review you could check out!

    Hey do we need to unplug the machine every time to throw out the water that remains in the bottom after sanitizing the bottles ?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 5 lety

      Rj Slias I always unplugged it after every use but that was just a personal preference. I don’t think you have to. Often times there was very little moisture at the bottom.

    So do I need to use soap to wash the bottle before I use the sterilizer?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 6 lety +1

      Chuhui Zhang yes you do still need to wash your bottle out with soap! You want all the milk to be removed before sanitizing!

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 6 lety +1

      Chuhui Zhang and that’s a great question so I’m happy you asked. I definitely was hoping I wouldn’t need to do that but a quick wash is all you need since the machine is sanitizing the bottles

    • @charlottezhang4201
      @charlottezhang4201 Před 6 lety

      Thanks for the quick response. I am just too tired of washing all those parts, although I do love using Dr.Brown bottles. If I need to wash the bottles with soap, then the bottles are pretty much clean enough, which means the any other sterilizer could do what Dr.Brown sterilizer does. But you did do a good review on that.

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 6 lety

      Chuhui Zhang totally get it! I was a little disappointed at first when I found that out but I guess I get it because the leftover breastmilk or formula could make it very hard to clean the ceramic plate in the machine later.

    Do it dry the bottles as well? Are can I leave the stuff in there to dry?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 5 lety

      It steams and sanitizes but you can definitely let it stay in till it's dry.

    How do you clean the sterilizer?

    • @haveneedwant
      @haveneedwant  Před 6 lety +1

      I use a soft sponge so as not scratch the ceramic (I'm pretty sure it's ceramic) bottom and clean it with my my dish soap.
