As Azerbaijani,i don't like hard sugar cubes,we usually use white ones, which is disolved with warm tea easily.I actually drink tea with chocolate or cookies 😅

I am from Azerbaijan and I hate to EAT the sugar with the tea :) It is better with chocolate or cookie. But tea itself in a peary glass(that is what we call: armudu stekan) is great

Aliyev Heydar Centre is so beautiful and upon googling, I found out that the London Aquatics Centre was designed by Zaha Hadid too..May she rest in peace whilst her legacy continues

Wellcome to AZE. If you like to have real bazaar experience you should visit the Yaşıl Bazaar (Green Bazaar). It's the biggest one here and you can find every type of food that is produced across Azerbaijan.

I would like to advise you to visit some sorts of historical places where you can get information about events that formed today's Azerbaijan in terms of political,economical,cultural generally whatever you want.If you want to any guide to acquaint such type of place,l can take this responsibility lovingly for purpose of knowing people being different notation 😊

Hope you have enjoyed our city 🤌 It was way more picturesque like 10+ years ago, now it kinda have become more like a touristic influenced place especially for arabs, south asians and war-escaping russians 🤣 About tea drinking process, most of us enjoy very dark ones and without any sugar because it kinda kills vibes of it , so weird i know. But white sugar cubes are also very common maybe it varies by region. We love brits so much here , it feels like out of all western cultures you guys along with mediterranean nations are common to us. Feel welcome to visit Azerbaijan again, best time to visit is probably from mid-March (at that time we celebrate Novruz) to mid- May. Our summer and winter are horrible. In winter degree is max -3 in Baku but feels like -20 because of wind 😄
Winter is so harsh in Azerbaijan, better not to visit during the winter. It's like Siberia with the snow and wind in Baku.

Hi, that type of sugar you just chew. Otherwise you'll finish the tea before that type of sugar is dissolved. It is not kalla qand (literally "skull/head sugar) to keep in moutg while drinking. :) Well done and hello to the whole family!

Did you go to Yaşıl Bazar? Literally means Green Bazaar. There you would get authentic bazaar experience with modern touch. If you’re still there I would really recommend:)

You need to dip the sugar cube into the tea and then bite the wet, soften tip and then continue dipping, sucking/biting whilst still holding it with your fingers. Hope this is helpful 😊

5:25 sale price of such a size of the saffron pack is normally 5 AZN, but certainly, the bazaar trickers are trying to catch an opportunity by tail when they deal with tourists..))

Did you have any trouble during your trip there?
No problems at all.. felt very very welcomed.. the only thing that was a pain was my drone.. I hadn’t read the rules properly so it was confiscated upon arrival and it caused enormous problems getting out of the country.. we had to completely change our route of exit.. but luckily a local overheard our struggles and stepped in to help.. it was however my fault..
