Can I ass this stuff to my car tyre before I get any puncture or leaks? I want it there to just prevent the very slow leak that can occur through the beading against the wheel.
Hi Dan. You can use TireJect in on road vehicles for bead leaks and emergency tire repair for punctures up to 1/4" in the tread. Once installed the bead would be sealed for the life of the tire.
Our official recommendation is to only use in emergency situations (road side) on highway speed vehicles. After use the tire would need to be inspected by a certified tire shop to ensure it is safe to drive on at highway speeds (the puncture could potentially be in the sidewall area). Also, vehicles newer than 2008 are required to have TPMS.. these electronic sensors are inside the tire and the sealant will potentially damage them if left in the tire for over 24 hours. Do not use more than 4oz of TireJect for this application...using more than this could cause balance issues on the tire.
