Yes, Igor Krutoy is now a friend of Diana’s he introduced her to the composer Brandon Stone who produced her first Album and after she won this competition he gave her an apartment in Moscow. Igor is a very prestigious composer 🎼 and Internationally known and works with Dimash. During an interview she explained that her contralto low tones are easy but she had to work hard to maintain her high notes 🎶 during puberty. It is based on Russian folktales about a young betrothed orphan girl who goes to the river, the boundary between the living and the dead, to ask her deceased mother's blessing for her marriage.

Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother at age 3. Because of this beginning, she had speech problems and was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talent was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

Great reaction, Her lower regiister is her comfort zone. By the way, The gentleman who waited to push his button, waited out of respect for Diana, till their was break in the song. HE didn't want to interfere while she was singing.

So glad you covered this performance. She is freaking mesmerizing. A siren. I would love to see her perform in person. I wish she would do "Wicked Game" again. The way her performances of "Rechenka", "Dernier Danse", and others grew with her, I'm guessing it would be stunning now that's she is twenty. I appreciate the way you picked up on what was going on with Igor Krutoy and his late buzz. In fact, he stated after the program that he did exactly what you said. The way the judges reacted simultaneously to her first performance of "Rechenka" at age 14 is pretty interesting. She is just too good to interrupt, even for applause. Krutoy was so impressed with her that his business provided her and her mother an apartment in Moscow so she could attend the country's finest performing arts university. He is a world-renowned concert pianist and composer, and he played one of his compositions for Diana in the 4th round of this competition. She was, as usual, spectacular with "Tomorrow Is A Lie." It's in English, too.

The first - "Blizzard" - and third - "Human" - are amazing too.
The guy who delayed pressing the button - Igor Krutoy, who has composed a few songs for Dimash (and Lara Fabien) - did indeed delay so doing in order not to interrupt Diana'.
