I'll never forget the first episode, Greg was going to stop a contestant from disrespecting Alex and Alex said it was ok.... that he quite enjoyed it.... poor man couldn't have foreseen the consequences of his actions lol
I'll never forget him sitting in that cake bare arsed
@@elliottmcpeek7443and i love Liza’s absolutely joy in it and calling him ”a greedy bottom” 😂
Season 2 Ep 1 I think lol not the first ever episode
@@noabenbenisti8696imagine if op never saw the first season? 🤔🤷♂️
Alex deliberately tries to get under Greg's skin during the show because he wants Greg to be annoyed at him in the character of taskmaster.
Alex is genuinely a creative mastermind. He puts the pieces in their place and then let's it play out, and to top it all off, he made himself the butt of the joke by designing himself the role of "little Alex horne"
Bravo. The combination of Greg's overwhelming charisma with Alex's intentional lack thereof is genuinely gold.
Sometimes I feel bad for little Alex Horne but then I remember that he literally wrote the show
Yeah he specifically designed the dynamic to work the way it does cause he didn't think he would make a good taskmaster but would make a great task master's assistant
@@BlueScreenCorp I think the assistant is even more important, when the tasks are being performed at least. So if it was my show I would probably be carefull of delegating such a pivotal position. Being the assistant allows him to be close to the action, direct contestants in order to allow them to perform well for the show, and just be there for the best parts that are when everione lose their shits because something stupid just happened.
I think he literally wrote this show too...
you dont have to think.... He did.@@AndromedaD
From what I've heard, Greg was not entirely comfortable with how brutal Alex wanted him to be.
Putting Alex in as the assistant was a genius move, he gets the most screen time because he's both in the tasks and in the studio, every episode, for every season.
THE HORNE SECTION LMAO
The little “sorry Alex” threw me
Yeah loved the Horne Section appearing at the end lol.
Georgia Tennant? What are you doing in my falafel?
Knowing that Greg was a real life teacher before moving to entertainment makes it a great set up for this role I feel. He still has that teacher V student dynamic and Alex has the substitute teacher who everyone thinks they can do over feel. It’s truly a great show and unfortunately when it was exported they other countries don’t have the same feel with the hosts
Which other countries have the show?
@@marianicolaou754 Australia, New Zealand that I know off the top of my head.
@@marianicolaou754The US had a go of it as well. Don’t remember if it was just a pilot or a whole season, but either way, it wasn’t more than that
@@marianicolaou754New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, the US, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Canada, Croatia and Portugal have their own versions, as far as I know
New Zealand's is really good tho!
I could not love their dynamic more. 🥰 Also, I’m madly in love with Greg. Thank you Alex for giving him that position. 😮💨
I Second this
@@DoNotResusikate right? Lol. Also, your name is fabulous. Well done.
@@user-pt1cz4ot1e I’m no Doctor Cigarettes, but I do my best 🤣
@@DoNotResusikateDoctor Cigarettes is brilliant... yours is still better 😂
It is a tough pill to swallow, but he’s a fabulous assistant we all know is really running the show... it definitely adds undeniable depth & layers to the finished product ...
Bro you know he was the one who wanted someone else to be the taskmaster not the network.... think about it if he was the task master and the writer hed just come off as a smug prick who enjoys belittling his peers, but by using greg as a proxy of authority hes free to be directly involved with each task make the contestants miserable and yet most people think of him as a miserable prick whos loveable in the end... adds a really good layer of nuance that changes the from being a power trip reality show to ibstead being a nonsense forward romp into the deterioration of british comedians mental healths.
@@daycmetrollingdeihatin5100he also didn’t want to be the Task Master because he wanted to actually be there for the tasks in person.
@@daycmetrollingdeihatin5100 😆😂 I ain’t no bro .... 🚺
@@philippawallacedunlop9393I'm sorry, you misunderstood. He wasn't asking. Fwiw this comment makes you a double bro for sure.
@@dascherofficial “double bro”😂: there aren’t many layers to the subtleties in conversation anymore I am sad to note. Yes I was aware it wasn’t a question of corse 😂. But sure: do, say, think whatever works for you about me or anything else ... however being well over 50 myself I’ll call this a generational gap & won’t be answering to bro from anyone, if you don’t mind.
(And even if you do mind.... which is of corse implicit).
I’m guessing you’re teen to tween 🤔😁
Alex revealed that he didnt want to be the host, but rather be the side-chick. He knew that the dynomic they now have would work wonders
not side-CHICK LMAOO
Yeah, but you would say that though, to save face 😄
Taskmaster is a fantastic show and Alex is wonderful in it.
He wrote/writes the show. 😅
@@toomuchtomate Yes, I know.
innit 😉
@@mfdinak never heard of innit.
Is no one noticing that the stylist is played by Georgia Tennant?!
Oh shit! I didn't recognize her
I noticed and came here to find your comment. Also she refers to Lucy, which I'm guessing is Lucy the producer in Staged
Immediately
I don’t think she’s a stylist if he’s trying to pitch ideas for tv shows to her haha.
I was coming to comment that
From the US, these fabulous people were my lifeline during the pandemic. Bless you all!
Hold up was that Georgia Tennant?!
yep
GEORGIA!!!!
It was her! I wondered 🤔 thank you
@@ChubbyUnicorn What's her full name ?
@@richardbeaton7324 Georgia Tennant
This show is fundamentally dependant on Alex's willingness and ability to be dehumanized for our pleasure.
He wanted to see the tasks being done first hand. He never wanted to be the host. ❤
Oh now this all makes sense.
One of the best shows on tele.
Little Alex Horne is a comedy genius.
I had no idea. That's both kinda sad and amazing. It still worked out and ot such a great show
I would happily take it, just to see it succeed. Especially as well as it has.
But the real question is, will there be another season of The Horne Section TV Show? It was so good!
In the comments asking important questions. It was such fun show.
GEORGIAAAAA
I mean, honestly because he doesn't have to host because he's literally everywhere else on the show and the show has lasted so long. I think he's ok not being host.
Omg Georgia!!!
Ash? Thats Georgia Tennant!
What a fantastic introduction.
Hello the doctor's daughter
Also the doctor’s wife!
This was amazing
Horne in the Horne section is genius!!
My absolute favorite show❤
Alex Horne and the Horne section!
Omg this is art
Was that georgia tennant?!
I feel bad because I stopped watching when it moved to C4, I don't know this happened because I absolutely loved this show.. its epic
“I will give you 6 minutes and 48 hours.”
I legit expected her to end that sentence with “your time starts now”.
*in* 48 hours. It was a task to be on time, not to prove it in a certain timespan.
Crying all the way to the bank hopefully
Rare footage of Greg standing during the show?
I read somehere that he didnt want to be the host because he wanted to witness the tasks in person. 😊
The wizard should NEVER be the king. BE THE WIZARD ALEX.
What a bit lol That's commitment
.... is that Georgia Tennet??
"I'll give you 6 minutes in 48 hours"
There's always such a mix of emotions when I hear my girl say that.
Alex Horne is a damn genius
Bafta award though
Alex: *steps into Ash’s office*
Ash: You have six minutes. Your time starts now.
I admire Alex for creating a TV show just to get his band over.
I'll never forget Stephen Fry explaining the difference between American comedians and British commedians.
There's a scene in Animal House where a guy is playing the guitar and Jim Belushi grabs it and smashes it. American comedians want to be Jim Belushi, and british comedians want to be the guy playing the guitar.
Wait is that Georgia Tennant?
Imagine a British remake of “Barry” staring lil Alex Horne 🤣
It's that Georgia Moffat?
(David Tennant's wife)
So Georgia Tennant then
A little slot for a little Alex Horne 😂
Brilliant
'ash' looks a lot like georgia tennant to me. Am I correct in my thinking or am i going crazy?
I was thinking that too, did a double take
Because that is Georgia tennant, this is from the The Horne Section TV Show a kind of parody mockumentary type spinoff about Alex’s life as the taskmasters assistant
You are correct - you are going crazy.
League of Gentlemen Theme.
I always tell people after i introduce them to show that the whole thing is alexs ideas and show and they all act like "so what why does that matter" cause its crazy that the guy being abused and made fun of the most made the show lol. And that he makes himself seem useless. Like at the very least its an intresting fact
georgia tennant what are you doing here!!
Are the band playing the title music from Left 4 Dead 2 or are my ears deceiving me?
Who is the lady in the video?
😂😂😂
Honestly the show just wouldn't be the same if Alex was host and someone else was in his role. I mean he gets way more screen time than Greg does
Is this clip from? Behind the scenes? Bloopers? An episode?
It's a spoof, on behind the scenes. Extra content all together!
It’s a scene from The Horne Section TV Show, a fictional spinoff about Alex.
All of the above
Is that the music from Left 4 Dead??
🤣
This chemistry doesn't just happen. If you want to see alex horne in the USA version (ota 1 season) you can see what a dumpster fire it can be.
It was also the comics chosen from here who'd do the show but the attitude between the host and the competitors was not in good fun and i remember just being glad they stopped it.
The Aussie version didn't nail it perfectly, but it was waaay better than the US version.
I didn't know they did a US version. Does anyone know where I could find the episodes for it?
@@PreciousETM unfortunately i don't outside stealing it. Which of course id have no idea how to do.
It was reggie watts as the taskmaster, so i thought itd be great. Awful, so so awful. If id seen it first id never bothered with the UK version. Watts is to nice to everyone, the comedians were unengaged or angrily competitive, not in a good fun way, a "hey this is just a show for good fun calm the fuck down with your sensitive self" kinda way.
I absolutely hated it. I dont think i finished it actually. Really its all about the casting. Especially in the USA taskmaster was not big, they probably didn't see the show and seemed to be clueless of the "spirit of the show".
@@justion337 I wont blame alex if he never tries the US version again. Perhaps now more people have seen it and bigger names would be willing to help, it was just the attitudes, plus reggie watts was not a good taskmaster. Far to nice is what i remember. Which is probably why I'd pick him, itll be great when he rejects something or makes a zinger. Never happened.
It'd probably be best to just import some American comedians into the UK version. I've learned so many more comedians through this show i enjoy. Toss in one or two every few seasons.
It doesn't surprise me. Everyone seems to think British and American cultures are the same. But the only real thing they have in common is a language. To make a British idea work in the states, you have to twist it so far out of shape that it's no longer the same idea.
Is the woman playing the tv producer David Tennant's wife?
Remember Alex Horne might be getting huge payouts from the different licensed taskmaster shows they are doing across the world!
He?
This guy was Drop Dead Fred! Oh my god!
No different to Osman on Pointless.
Is this from a tv show?
Yes
Why is Georgia tennent there, and now called Ash?
GEORGIA TENNANT???
Roman Catholic farter 😅😅😅
Alex is great on TM but THS was absolutely dire.
Are you kidding? THS was one of the highlights of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Is there a reason he isn’t allowed to host ?
He didnt want to in the first place if I remember the interview correctly. He wanted to observe the tasks and you cant judge the tasks without bias if you observed them before.
This is just a joke as it fits the underling dynamic.
In an interview he said he doesn't have the personality to be host. He said he was more beta and Greg is more alpha.
I read/listened to something about how Alex knows he is more comfortable with preplanned/scripted elements (ie. the intros at the beginning of the show, planning the tasks), whereas Greg is better at banter and creating unscripted moments with the contestants.
Everyone already answered but just to add it’s honestly an amazing talent to not only know your limits but to follow rhem
@drewidlifestyle7883 exactly what I was going to add...
Catch phrase got old about 10 seasons ago. I skip the intro now as I love the show.
I skip the intro as well.
Worst show in the history of TV
Wtf you on
This is why TV is no longer relevant. The overpaid egos involved are so self satisfied, and so comfortable in their existences, and with the dire mediocrity of the dross that they (and their huge production teams) ‘create’, they’ve forgotten that their real purpose is to entertain and be genuinely funny for REAL people, not just the woke cardboard cutouts that apply for free tickets.
Whenever I channel hop through the poverty ridden dross hole that is late night TV repeatland, I occasionally come across this thing. And even after watching several minutes, I’ve never seen anything other than embarrassingly bad nonsense. Yet the host still wears the same smug expression, and fakes hilarity in precisely the same ways every time. He apparently has no real personality, only his act.
Real comedy died with Bill Hicks and George Carlin. It lingers on in a few, but they will NEVER appear on TV, unless some lefty soaks her mattress and fills her nappy and complains about him, resulting in new even more draconian ‘hate crime’ legislation being drawn up specifically to appease the over sensitive, and silence REAL comedy.
George Carlin would be embarrassed that you mentioned him in the same manifesto where you revealed your own total lack of humor.
imagine going on this pathetic of a tirade about snowflakes and not seeing the irony... while also completely missing the joke of this whole segment. i suppose i shouldn't be surprised about your non-existent sense of humour if you think there's only been 2 good comedians in history.
no comedian is getting hit with hate crime legislation, even the really atrocious ones like roy chubby brown who regularly drops racial slurs in his sets. this "draconian" hate crime legislation you speak of is used in cases of serious harassment or assault. not fucking comedy shows. if acts are not being as racist as you'd like them to be, it's because it's not commercially viable on account of the public mostly not finding that shit funny anymore.
as for ragging on lefties, carlin himself was definitely a lefty on most issues. if you'd asked him about women's rights, lgbt rights, billionaires, guns, healthcare, a social safety net, consumerism, corporatism, and so on. and notice that when he ranted about "politically correct" language, he was primarily going after terms that were used by and for the political class. like his "shell shock -> post traumatic stress disorder" rant is about how the language is being warped by the powerful to disguise problems in society. he isn't mad that he's not allowed to use slurs. he specifically said in one of his bits that he's in favour of using terms like "chairperson" instead of "chairman" to not exclude women. if you think carlin's comedy came from shock and offending as many people as possible then you didn't understand him.
Does this music building have an address?
Eyyyyy, good one
