The coffee quest was actually delightful
"I used to drink coffee like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee..."
@theauntydonnagallery
I’ve missed Alysha and the Insert Art gang. Love the idea of keep asking questions of how things work to help world building
Jenn blaming Jazza for stealing all the sweet rolls was *chefs kiss*
At least Dave used the coffee machine properly this time! Excited about the new RPG setting, sounds very interesting merging the renaissance with more Greco-Roman styled fantasy.
Alysha's art is so cool. It really brings the lucevera to life. Really exited to finally see all the player's portraits. Can't wait for the campaign to start
It was SO nice seeing Alysha again! It made me realize how much Ive missed seeing her in videos!
I've previously shared my excitement for Lucevera, and I legit cannot WAIT for this campaign!
Super excited to see more of Alysha's art! I miss Insert Art!
Alysha is so cool! Thanks for showing the artist behind the art!
Would love to see you guys make the Blackstone Fortress or the "Trihex Citadel" from Dragons Rest and go absolutely bananas on a magnetic board. Since also the last time you ventured near the Blackstone Fortress, your group got melted.
We need a redemption mission!
Hey Dave and Murray, you guys should make lord solar proxies for your steel and traitor guard armies
The Elder scrolls intro was wonderful
The Titan, based on "Saturn Devouring His Son" is nicely grim.
"If you wish to create the universe, first you must make a cup of coffee from scratch." - Carl Sagan
0:24 This makes me want a Tabletop Time and LaFave Bros collab
As someone whos never missed a show, mad respect for the Parway Drive jumper!
I really like this new setting! I liked how you incorporated different time periods and what the stand for, with the three fractions. More late medieval (gothic) for the religious fraction. Renaissance for the engineers, fitting this time periods focus on the ratio (thinking) and the gaudy opulence of the baroque period, very fitting for the royals. Can't wait! Tough I still need too watch both the Pokémon and Reboot se2 finale first.
Love Alysha's art. Super awesome.
Alysha is the best frfr, her art inspires me so much and she's always amazing to see on the channel!!
I noticed the inspiration for the Titan is Saturn Eating His Son. I'm still annoyed that a book on monsters I read as a kid used that painting in a section on Grendel (Beowulf's monster).
yes mate skyrim coffee quest!!! absolutely loved it plus the bit buggy comment at the end, classic lol havent even watched the rest of the video yet but i will be but that was fantastic lol
Parkway Driven! That's awesome.
great video guys, very enjoyable to see into your process of creation.
That is a pretty cool video, really enjoyed it and very stoked to the campaign you are going to start. What is being said is so very true. Well done.
I hope you're also following the templin institute series on world building!
Loved the coffee quest 😂
I want to indicate the movie "In the nome of the rose" to see how Sean Cornnery played a monk whoa had a pair of glass (magnifying glass)
Not gonna lie intro was fire :P reminded me of old games.
The coffee skit was a good laugh, can't wait to see what the next one is. Also as much as I'm excited for this new campaign, I'm dying to know when you're releasing the pokémon stuff for patrons. So many cool things to look forward to, ahhh.
You could called the unicorn dogs “Unidogs or Unihounds”
Very excited for this campaign.
Always a pleasure when Alysha is on
It's a little too similar to one you did already, perhaps, but I think a coffee skit where Dave (and Jen?) is/are working the espresso machine like the pottery wheel scene in Ghost.... 😂 Add in a 5th arm like in the parody of it in The Naked Gun... (Chef's kiss)
Q: where and how do you stop creating a world? What is enough information to make it feel real and what is overkill? Do you have a feel for how much to be prepared for a campaign vs how much to improvise when the players ask weird questions (or decide to go to that small town you didn’t think you’d need to flesh out)? Are time constraints helpful here?
Love the coffee bit, and thanks for sharing how you created lucevera!
Now i want to play skyrim again! The coffee quest was beautiful haha!
I'm so very tempted to buy those models. I shouldn't. Someone talk me out of buying them!
Love the coffee quest!
And the whole world you have created!
Never
Loved the video ❤🤘🔥
I love the different coffee intros
Nice PD top 🤘🏼
Cool art.
You ever think about revisiting some of your themes from last year?
Or any of the One page rules stuff in the future? They recently released the beta for Age of Fantasy Quests and would like your take on it?
(I really love all of your custom warhammer factions and it has inspired my own)
Always love seeing Alysha in videos and her amazing art!
I do want to ask though, how do you make your world not feel overly generic or derivative of other works? Particularly when it comes to elements based on this from other well known worlds, etc.
I think its important to not be afraid of being 'like' other things - Everything is 'like' something else. Star Wars is a western - Even when you try to avoid it, people will find things you create and draw parallels to other media - I made a cyberpunk campaign and people said many elements were similar to cyberpunk 2077 - A game I had never played at the time and knew nothing about - Same inspiration leads to similar conclusions, and thats ok.
Art communicates. The Art of Worldbuilding is necessarily broad to communicate themes and ideas quickly.
Now i want to go play Oblivion...thanks Dave
I was looking at my Steam Game library and I have 42 Warhammer and 40K games, and I can think of 3 more that I had before Steam.
I like the pretty lady's earrings
More Alysha. I miss watching her create art.
Is it possible to make a well rounded world with the setting in Kansas US of A?
Alicia is the best artist!!!!!!!!!!
So, I've got three guard regiments and two of them I don't really do much with the lore but the infantry regiment has lead to long nights of planning and figuring things out
I've asked around for help here and there and got a lot (even from a guy who *made* a canon regiment for gw once) but a problem I've only noticed now was, my cadian regiment has guardsmen from dozens of planets due to losses but normal practice is to issue them a cadian uniform to replace what they had, I still have them in their home planet's uniforms
I originally solved it with 'well, given they were stuck in warp travel so long and missed the fall of cadia due to it they've been going from conflict to conflict like a crusade without stopping to resupply' but eventually they're going to have to resupply there's just no two ways about it, how would I explain them not issuing new uniforms to those who were brought into the regiment from disbanded ones/stranded guardsmen/local PDFs?
So she has created dishonored 2!
To be honest its my favourite dishonored inclusing of course 1.
Murray's had a glow up
9:26 ain't no one got time for dat!
wow they talked about skandinavia
Coffee. It just works.
I struggle with hanging on to one world concept at a time and often rapidly bounce between them. Any advice for keeping a bit of a tighter grip on concepts?
Don't! Combine the ones that excite you and make a harmonious whole, once you're happy, make a bible or a set of rules/facts about the world and stick to it. At a certain point a world needs to start setting in stone, if you still feel creative make another setting alongside, or another realm in your first
Yay
Thankyou for countering the boo we were crying
Happy to help 😆
Where can I find more of Alicia's work?
Where can we see more of Alysha's art?
I got a question, when I want to try making my own wargame, should I start by buying minis, making them from clay, printing them or other?
Just proxy some stuff you have lying around, it will save you money
@@TabletopTime Okay, thanks!
Suggesting the videos end on another coffe thing? Alicia what have you done?!
What usually is a good starting quest
Something that brings the players together in a common cause but also adds intrigue to a wider plot for them to get interested in. Perhaps they must go deal with some bandits but when they arrive they find the bandits dead, with evidence of a new and greater threat to discover
No links for Alyshia(sp?) ? Disappointed as I'd like to see some more work and possible price commissions.
Yeah I'd rather hear what's going on with that Pokemon tabletop campaign
How do you handle open world exploration campaigns? It feels so big and unfocused.
I've ran hex crawls before, but often part of the secret is understanding choice is a bit of an illusion. The world might appear vast and massive but most of the time players will go to and explore things that are referenced. Time and supplies can limit exploration early as well as the enemy toughness. Think video games, you can hem in the world a little to start with through quests, rules borders and enemies until you get a stronger grasp on it
Morning brown I'm still not sure could you please explain it some more @Tabletop Time
Morning Brown.
Morning Brown
@@TabletopTime Golden brown, texture like sun

How much of the time spent on these videos is the intro?
I mean, filming wise this one took like 15 minutes. Editing wise, a few hours
Is it so you can write it off on your taxes?
I miss Insert Art.
Please do another turnip 28 vid
Regarding world building, my current LARP campaign world (Earth) is suffering negative effects from Climate Change; how can I stop this?
Have you tried being born a billionaire in a massive oil family and then changing the family business?
@@TabletopTime 😄😄😄
My problem is writing it down. I procrastinate over writing my worlds down and for the most part I keep them in my brain... :|
Okay, Dave, challenge accepted when you're making your world at what point do you suddenly decide that that is too fantastical or at what point do you say? There's no way that's going to make sense in the world that you've created, even though technically it would because of technology or magic or whatever at what point do you like? Okay, that's the line that's that's the space too far.
I think this comes down to having a grasp of what the magic system is, what it's limits are, how rare is it. Because just because something can be done doesn't mean it is commonplace or practiced. You can always adjust the rules around the magic or technology if you feel it's making the world start to feel a bit silly.
Probably one of the worst videos I've ever watched on world creation. Not enough info, and not a professional approach to world creation.
Alysha's art is dope, though.
Boo
Ahh 😱💀👻
