Is it just me or is the square space ad audio getting worse every time?
It's rivets time!
@Half-Random Jack Did you watch the video? Orks literally just bash shit together and it works. Bill basically WAAAGHed it in full detail for all to see.
My 10 year old Alex was wondering when you’d do a new vid - it’s been a treat watching your vids with him. He won Gold today at school for his model of the ISS space station for science week - yeah, we’re collecting junk like there’s no tomorrow - keep up the good work, and could you feature Cat more for my daughter please. She really likes Cat.
Sorry no more cat. Congrats on the gold.
@@BillMakingStuff we’re all hoping a black and white photocopy of your face will be stuck on a tube, and cat is promoted to host and the talent…
@@BillMakingStuff Alex likes your reply, thanks- Esmé wants Cat so she’s not happy. Looking forward to watching this tonight.
Must be one of the funniest dialogue I read in CZcams comments for a long time
@andrewblack8635 so much more Cat!!! ❤
I may've said it elsewhere but I REALLY like how much it reminds me of Metal Slug and Appleseed and them vehicles, but with the BILL aesthetic.
Rusthetic.
Thanks Crafsman
The Crafsman AND Bill in the same comment thread?! If Studson shows up, I might just swoon ❤️
"RAWKET LAWN-CHAIR!"
Gotta copyright Rusthetic
@Jenna McDaniel they learn from each other, and I learned of Bill from Crafsman
God I love your take on Ghibli-esque design, in saying that, everything you do has such an awesome identity to it that if you get shown a picture you'd go "OH that's Bill!"
The universe you've built has been an awesome thing to get sucked in to. Getting the cheeky preview and then receiving the notification that you've uploaded brings so much excitement to the day.
Kind of reminds me of the tanks from Sandland, a short manga by the author/artist of Dragonball.
@@falsehero2001 I recon you can just name the man: Akira Toriyama. I don't think anyone should ignore who he is.
And yes, his mecha designs are amazing
@@falsehero2001 i was thinking the same thing

That weird box shape is indeed a Bionicle container. It's actually one of the few that can be connected to Lego pieces, and is very useful for some Lego artists.
I have a handful of broken Bionicle joints and arms that could be used to make mechs or robots. I'll send you some neat bits and pieces next time I pick up stamps
well I was about to read my book and then I saw this notification, and can't not watch this video. thanks for that bill
Bill it’s not said enough; but your editing is so fantastic. Not only do I look forward to your builds, but I look forward to the unique and fun editing that comes along with it
Love it. I someday hope to have the diversity of junk that Bill has. I come for the clever crafting, immersive audio and video design, and stay for the things I didn't know about my dad.
Got a ton of Warhammer Orks vibes from this. The whole build process is exactly what they specialize in - gathering broken, forgotten, scrapped and destroyed bits, slapping them together and making an intimidating, rolling death contraption. Even the colour scheme, the off yellows, rusted reds and greys fits their whole aesthetic.
Currently getting stitches on my thumb due to a crafting based foam cutting accident so this is truly great timing for an upload, give me something enjoyable to watch and relax to as the doctor does her work
I like when he said "It's riveting time" and he riveted all over the place.
The best model you've made so far. It will be hard to get over you...
I was really concerned that your channel didn't have a catchphrase yet so I am glad to see you settled on "Rivet Time!" I feel that the channel can really grow now with this brand of marketing.
I believe that the black piece is part of the box from a Ready to Robot toy. I have a few full cases in my parts bin.
Bill, Bill, Bill. I shall send you the Bill. This line is mostly to boost your already nutty CZcams SEO. Go Bill, go.
This is probably one of my favorite builds you've made. I love how much plastic you save for your builds. It saves them from ending up in a landfill and just sitting there, not decomposing.
As someone who builds almost exclusively tank models, this build is definitely an instant favourite of mine! I’m currently working on a 1/16 scale Tiger tank and I’m willing to bet you were probably able to build your entire model in the same time it took me to connect my tank tracks together! Awesome video as always Bill! You’re always a huge source of inspiration for me!
I'm glad that my comment about looking up your nose made the cut. YES!
The vast amount of wheels inside of the tank treads look great.
You have certainly gotten your money's worth out of that 2nd hand Hot Wheels Auto City! You're like an Eskimo using every part of the seal. Admirable.
The paint job on the final tank came out great, heck the ENTIRE tank came out great. Excellent work all around, Bill!
the seal is a good analogy. Cheers T-Nu!
I'm really liking the direction you're taking with your videos. Seeing the sketchbook stuff & the longer format is so much more satisfying!
This would make a great Orky tank!
The build is awesome, the paint and story is superb! Btw Bill, I've converted my entire basement into a scratch build room. Between you and Studson, I was so inspired to craft again! Thank you for what you and the community does!
It's pretty smart to leave the comment stuff to cat. It sure saves time and sanity. I convinced my budgie to do the comments for me, too. She says tsheeep.
The thing on the front is called a youtube comment generator
Knew it
I feel like your skills have grown so much over the course of the past year or 2. Always liked your stuff, but it feels like the mini projects keep getting more and more ambitious, and i gotta say I enjoy the content quite a bit. Keep up the good work!
The earth can't be flat. If it were, the cats would have swiped everything over the edges, years ago.
Excellent build. It looks really mean. If I had one, and ran out of shells, then I'd probably convert it to a vast flame thrower. Let the Rusters know that the shells had gone - and then torch the bastards, whilst shouting over a Tannoy:
"...But I've got this, instead!"
My favorite part of Bill Making Stuff videos is the "It's Rivet Time!™" part I love how it has caught on over the years.
This is such a great time in the life of this channel. Crafting is on point, editing is on point and we still have a couple of months before Bill burns out and starts compromising or just post less videos.
Another awesome build! I have yet to see anything in this world of yours that I don't like. I love how creative you are, both in world building and in making trash into such amazing things. I swear, if you wrote a book with stories set in your world, with your illustrations, I would buy the heck out of it, Bill!
Me too!
I enjoy and envy your design process. Any time I try to sit down and sketch out something original, I generally stall out and... don't do it.
Awesome looking tank, though!
If Bill making stuff keeps making stuff I'll keep watching all of Bill's videos of Bill making stuff. Which inspire me to make stuff! Thanks for everything Bill
I just SO love your works. Your videos is so comforting, it feels kinda like coming back to childhood, when everything was so interesting and fascinating and you loved every tw-show. I don't know why, but only your channel gives this specific feeling. You're totally a high-quality-man.
I love the build, the texture and chonk of the track wheels was my favorite part.
I think it would be super cool if ya did a large sculpture of a planet or something, maybe when the ruster world is all fleshed out it would be cool to see a sculpture of it.
You should totally do a joint video with Dan Does where he brings his warband over to Respite and you two play a game. A battle report with all-handcrafted minis and terrain!
I could definetly see it going into a delapidated city, pushing cars and rubble with its front blade, the vertivality and turrets working to clear any second or third floor of nearby buildings. While it rumbles through the city some bandits are ready to attack with explosives and just weapons, hiding behind pillars until the ambush takes place.
Fantastic job Bill, really like that you spent more time on the painting too, well worth the extra effort.
I really liked the lore on this one, very cool. I always enjoy a nice chonky build as well! x)
Honestly Bill, my favorite thing about your build videos other than the builds themselves is the super imaginative lore you come up with for each of your pieces. I find your ideas so inspiring! ❤❤❤❤
Bill, I've just got give you thanks from my neighbor for the baking soda trick, she's like 70 and her glasses broke and I fixed em with the ol baking soda super glue trick. Real life craft hacks.
Would you consider doing any Jim henson labyrinth builds? I feel it would fit your aesthetic pretty well, and also great video😁
Hey Bill, your videos are awesome all around. But I must say.....your sketchbook on its own is a work of art. I love watching your process. That is all. Keep it up!
I totally dig your art. I built my first trash robot 40 years ago I was only 5. Then went on to other things and came back to it 2 years ago when I found your channel. Some of your tricks like the rivets really help to make the finished thing feel real and believable. And no toilet rolls don't work🤣
I'll see if I can make a box of interesting bits to send you soon. If you can get your hands on a printer in the trash it's a great mine for bits too, with all the gears articulation parts or the conveyer belt to name a few.
I really love your channel both for the objects you create and that weird sense of humour which I totally relate.
Peace and may the rust be with you
I love kitbashing with random toys, bits and bobs, plastic trash bits from mass produced productsn in order to make props, models, and miniatures of things. I like repurposing stuff otherwise ignored or tossed in a landfill if not recycled for projects.
These kind of videos are great in general, as inspiration to others to be artistic as well as to look at how they can repurpose things they would otherwise throw out or give away.
Found your channel a few weeks ago and man am i glad you put out a new video because i have BELT FED all of your videos. You are awesome, keep being awesome. Its a shame you weren't in there from the start, Bill really should have started the channel with you. Big fan question but what is your favorite cat food? Also hello Bill i guess?
this was the one, the build. omg this one was it. You're very good at what you do.
Your tanks are fantastic. Every one of them unique. Your sketchbook inspires and causes envy at the same time
...it's quite confusing. God bless!
Amazing how the primer just brings it alive. Great video
Ok Bill. You did it. I’m starting collecting junk and save it for a project… I thought this would never be my jam, but you did it! I can’t wait to start creating something! Great video and great project as usual!!!
Do you reckon Bill has a pool table in his garden somewhere? Could be called the Billiard
Literally was thinking that looks like something out of a ghibli film during the paint, and then you said it. 😂 you always do a good job.
Story time is my favorite part of the videos, love hearing the additions to the world your building literally and figuratively 💙
I’m loving your Ghibli terrain. It’s not even terrain they’re works of art!
Love your vehicles and this was no exception! The story for this one was really nice too
Oh wow, it's Howl's Moving Tank-bulldozer, and it looks absolutely amazing! Friendly, round shapes on a killing machine is a perfect contrast.
My wife said that your sketch looks like a combination of a diglett, howl's moving castle, and a dalek.
She loves it and wants it framed.
Probably to put in the bathroom. I true place of honor in our house.
Cheers and keep doing the most. Love your stuff :)
It was a joy to see you work you got really good at painting! :D
It’s an awesome build with awesome lore. The shapes and silhouette are just so good
Wanted to share the name of the wheels inside of the tracks with you. There are three types, though one isn't exactly a wheel. The first type is the road wheel, those are your big heavy ones at the bottom of the tracks that keep it on course. The second is the idler/tension wheel, they're the small ones that adjust based on the terrain and keep the tension on the length of the track so it doesn't fly off. The last one, which is iffy as a wheel, is the final drive sprocket, the massive geared wheel at the front of the track that makes it move forwards and backwards. Who knows, maybe knowing that will help with a build one day.
I come back to this vid every once in awhile it’s my absolute favorite.
This is probably my favorite of your builds so far! It's also come at a perfect time because I was going to try a kitbash version of the Rogal Dorn tank for my Imperial Guard army. It think it would be fun plus I don't feel like paying $80 for one model! Thanks, Bill!
I love all your builds, but the story of this one was quite lovely. Awesome job!
Hey Bill and other people! Even though no one probably cares I wrote a little paragraph on The Rusters with my own spin on it, enjoy!
The Rusters
The Rusters are a group of people who pray to machine gods and make suits of armour, weapons and helmets out of scrap metal and rust them with their foes’ blood.
They can often be found around the giant robot warrior heads in the sand, performing prayers and offerings to them.
The gang has lots of different roles but the one who oversees it all is the scrap knight, a man who has wandered the waste land for years and made a entire power suit of simply rusty metal.
He is seen as their overlord, their leader even.
They kill anyone who doesn’t wear or have any rusty metal as they consider it “Heresy.”
This death can be delivered by a variety of weapons such as: their guns made of old 21st century weapons, spears, a claw made of old kitchen knifes, a variety of swords, a sickle, a gun arm and a gun blade.
Yeah…
They like their guns.
Anyways, the gang consists of 10 members which are: 2 scouts,2 snipers,3 berserkers, 2 guards (for the scrap knight) and of course, the scrap knight.
28:55 I can't believe this story you're telling me, it's macabre!
Love the work, amazing as always!
Your paintwork is becoming amazing.
That fact that you spent more attention to the painting this time already became apparent during the storytelling part. I think it really paid of and it was quite pleasant to see the layers building up. Youve got some serious chops for someone claiming to not like painting :)
Just keeps getting better and better. Bravo!
I definitely appreciate the fact that the figures fit and it actually looks fat, and fanciful while still looking functional at the same time...which is hard to pull off.
Brother happy to see you doing well hope you are doing great though, awesome build
Your tank does look kind of Ghibli-ish, but but the story of it makes me think of Red Dragon Kong from the anime Desert Punk.
Aaah these videos are so cool I could sit and watch all day, During pandemic I made a few models from scratch because it was something I really enjoyed when I was 12 or so... Most people ask me Why make all these process of putting things together when we have 3D modelling and printing, But there is something really funny in the process of finding a piece in a store, market, in the garage, streets, etc. and finding it a purpose for it that is really pleasing
I guess if we could scan the resulting model, and maybe adjust a few things and 3D print for copies to sell, gift or repaint, I guess it would be cool also, because the cartoonish, improvised and interesting shapes coming from reutilized pieces of stuff is just.... so cool hahaha 😂 It reminds me when I was child and happy just because I found in the ground a lighter from which I could take many small parts ❤❤
The matte first layer of grey painting also looks cool
Simply marvelous! I absolutely love how you reclaim plastic parts and have such a distinct creative style. This tank is so detailed and feels so alive. Bravissimo!!!
Looks very Ghibli, that Rocca Roller
Wrong!
Tanks are just airships that are too cool to fly anyway.
there's this video game called "FUGA melodies of steel", in which a bunch of kids run a beast of a tank not unlike your own, as in it really feel old school and ramshackle. more so a building on tracks than a proper vehicle.
The story time was especially great this time, I thought, and the effort on the painting really does show.
You'll have to give the old rusters some good weaponry to justify their continued existence, what with them making new friends every time you introduce a new tragic backstory. Seriously, they've pretty much pissed off every other faction you created so far, and they don't have the luxury of a safe haven (unless I forgot).
The cherry on top would have been a retro pinup on the turret, the titular "Rocka", as a tribute to the late wife, maybe?
Your narrative world sounds a lot like America, haha.
Love the look of this tank, it's so Bill Making Stuff!
Looks very Ghibli-ish, I like it, Am always amazed at the transformation when it's all primed up and then once more when all painted. Well done once again Bill.
Nightshift: I am making my special blend of German Gray, Panzer Grey, and Afrika Corps Yellow to paint this armor model. Bill: I think I'll use "dark flesh", seems appropriate for a tank.
My friiieeeends...
I just wanna propose the idea of Wheel riders! Coming from a desert like area they scavenge for scrap and resources on an uncommon vehicle.
They ride on wheels from those big excavators that mine and look like a giant metal/wood saw machine. (Just smaller, at least some guys, there could be a big wheel for the boss)
The wheel is half repaired with scrap, self stabilizes the center so the people dont go around it while it spins.
The driver is either on a capsule that bulges to one side so he can look, or drives in the middle and has a mirror and a guy to shout him where to go.
It has one or two turrets and a few guys with harpoon turrets to jump on other wheels or giant vehicles. And if they cant take the vehicle by hand, they drop the wheel using it as an anchor until the main unit reaches the place.
There are mini wheels, barely fitting a guy, very unreliable, work for hand gun wielders, and madmen who try to get on the enemy vehicle alone, most of them fail though. Could be independent riders who want to make a name to ride the big wheel.
And there is the big boy, a giant machine that basically spins the wheels to get them going (they go by themselves after the start up though). And many sub spinners for the mini wheels.
The big guy is like those cities from the movie.... that movie whose name i totally remember about the cities that move around. The wheels it uses are like a hunting unit, the main way they get resources and scrap.
The spinning area is shaped like a U, so the spun wheel doesnt fall on the ship but directly on the ground when released
Btw, the big boy has a crane, to get the big wheel up when it falls down. Also the place where it is spun works as a repair bay, so when it starts spinning people are relatively close, maybe have those hanging platforms, which should be pulled up so they dont touch the wheel while spinning.
There are some vehicles in real life that have this concept of being a wheel. They didnt really work out, but the idea is too cool to be forgotten
You would have liked this comment. Hello cat
17:05 They'll just have to f*****g walk won't they!" Priceless
That’s amazing! I love the way you can see how to use the junk you have. I’m an engineer and can fix almost anything mechanical but I don’t have a creative bone in my body so watching your videos is like watching magic! The back story you give to your creations is always wonderful and quite dark, unusual these days. Long may you continue!
You are a genius of Ghiblish proportions! Love this build, great video as usual. No surprise to find out Cat is a 40k bro. 🤣
Your work is so inspiring! I love that you have stories for your builds. It’s genuinely so cool
10:30 the googly eye is just making me laugh, especially since I know you're going to paint it 😂
I gotta be honest i wasn't a big fan of rust stuff, mad max vibes and stuff like that when it comes to crafting but i absolutley love your builds and videos because you have a story and a setting behind them plus ypu have a unique humor directed towards your fans. In the future i might try some scratchbashing because of your videos. Please never change.
What i do while waiting for Bills new video...i rewatch the old ones for entertainment
I don't know which I like more; Bill's miniatures or his commentary. They are both great.👍
"Shapes" yeah, very clarifying concept, thanks for that. You've made it clear, it's shape before texture before color. Excellent!
I really like this build, it somehow makes sense hearing the story behind it. That thing in front must be called a cow catcher, I'm pretty sure about that
Legit, one of the coolest things you’ve ever made. Oh my god this thing just is gorgeous to look at. that paint job is absolutely phenomenal.
A work of art! I love the mix of road wheels in the tracks. They alone are glorious!
Simply Fantastic! This has to be my favorite one so far. You Rocca!
Bravo, never a dull moment. Thanks for the story, it was a much-needed distraction!!
Love the Rolling Rocca! The only thing missing was a 'drybrush...'
I really love the lore behind the builds. You have a great story telling talent. I'm good at alliteration.
good to know i wasnt the only crazy one walking out of the dollar store with bagfuls of final faction toys lol. Love the build, really inspirational!
My favorite yt channel so far, thank you Bill! Your content is very creativity inspiring!
The tank turned out great Bill, but I won't lie, when you started the "people keep saying to make an airship" I was actually intrigued.
I started pondering what an airship designed by you would be like, might be a fun build in the future?
This is by far one of my favourite builds you have ever made and I love the paint job! 👌
Episode 57. You could have got Heinz to sponsor you for this one. Might have got a load of beans and ketchup out of it, too.
Have a look at old Russian T-28 and T-35 tanks: they are like ground warships. The Tsar Tank is batshit crazy. I love it.
Good work, fella!
Your sketches remind me a lot of the way John Blanche's sketching is done . Similar shaping principles and colour saturation .
Really nice .
11:05 me and my friends used to do this in art class in 5th grade
