- Spectral Audio is a well known, high-end audio company, located in Silicon Valley. We are interested in the 'why' and 'how'. Richard Fryer tells us everything we want to know about Spectral Audio ánd the new SDR-4000 SV CD-player and 400 RS mono power amp.
I could listen over and over again to a person so enlightened as Mr. Frier.
Every few months, I find myself back here - absorbing.
If one is [ able ] to hone in on the very essence of the words, terms, and implications that this researcher has expressed - that person will ( no doubt ) realize his brilliance.
This interview should be ‘ Introduction to Reference Audio 101 ’ - for all those that claim or endeavor to be “ audiophiles ( especially manufacturers ). ”
Sadly …
That [ very small ] three-letter word that wars are fought over and causes man to watch his neighbor starve - [ will ] prevent most from agreeing with my aforementioned observation.
Best transistor gear on the market, nothing comes close to this. One day I will own a Spectral amp!
I Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Wonderful and inspiring. Thank you
This chap, along with Peter Qvortrup, are leading the way when it comes to CD playback. Upsampling? Jitter reduction? Nope. Amazing.
I just purchased two Spectral DMA -360 mono power amps and a Spectral DMC 30SL preamp used from a audiophile that was downsizing his life. I'm so excited to make the step up. Right now I'm looking for the proper MIT cables to set them up.
Wow... Congrats! That is An impressive system.
@@TheAlphaAudio I'm pairing them with a pair of Wilson Sophia III speakers. I used a Mark Leviinson/B&W combo for 25 years and wanted to make the next step.
@@conradhunter3093 well... This must be a huge step!
I enjoy so much an interview with such guru of audio. Many things I heard which I totally agree. Spectral audio is the Nord American equivalent to my beloved Japanese hi-fi hi-end. Sadly, Spectral has always been out of my league economically speaking. A second hand DMA 250 is available for 17.000€ 😅.
This interview is future path opening for many hi fi amplifier manufacturers. Speaker placement in listening room is foundation of audio zig.new research in handling and shaping signal in amplifier the way that modify emf (signal) in the way we like psychologically (perceives). In process instrumentation we have radar liquid level measurement technology which has capabilities of modifying radar waves to achieve exceptional result for measurement, but in audio world this tech. Can work to achieve speaker dispersion characters variation.
Maestros Richard Fryer and Professor Keith O’ Johnson are among the very few bright minds left in this business and hobby and way ahead from the rest of the crowd. SPECTRAL is what I will buy blindfolded.🫵💎💎
i am from sweden like your intervju but what happend to the brend
Goldmund is Spectral’s competitor.
Good interview but when I rung them they said they don’t sell and service to the UK sadly.
The are a bit odd, yes... ;)
@@TheAlphaAudio did you visit their office in Sunnyvale for this interview.?
This is crazy. Amazing.
And a good marketing department! Don't forget that!
This should be a propaedeutic video to audiophilia.
Can someone tell me what's gonna happen with Spectral audio Inc. when the two leaders, founders, quit their pursue. and then?
what you mean, there are thousands of technology companies in sillicon valley
He meant high end audio company.

Exactly... Context, today, is (very) lost in translation...
I'm not an engineer, I never wished to be one but I like to talk about engineering. LOL
Well... I'm not a web developer... And I don't wish to be one. But I do like to run a website and do some nerd-talk with my team. ;-)
@@TheAlphaAudio Moving on... digital was horrifically bad when it came out. But R2R DACs are seeing a revival.
@@calind79 yes. Indeed!
calind79,
“Yeah, because it would be ridiculous (for me) to not love talking about engineering - seeing how engineering is what my company is established and built to do...” 😆
Dont interrupt him.. Lmao
What do you mean? Sorry... don't get the 'lmao'....
@@TheAlphaAudio I think he means that when Richard was in the middle of an idea or sentence, Don't interject so fast with a comment or question. Also laughing nervously is kind of disrespectful. I know this was not your intent just trying to be constructive. Thanks for the video.
@@LeWpD thanks for the feedback. I guess some things are also cultural. It was definately not meant as a lack of respect.
@@TheAlphaAudio No harm no foul, I was just guessing at what the dude above was saying. You did a good job and it was super great to watch this video and hear from the guest. Thanks a lot
@@LeWpD but came out destructive
Ignorant reviewer! He is too young perhaps. HDCD and Pacific Microsonics. It was a joke! Ignorant there is only one and it's me😂
