    The Reagan Library is one of my favorite places in the whole world. I've been there 3 times.

    I took my family to the library this past April to see aircraft 27000. They thought I was on crack and weren't too interested until they walked in and saw it. They were both speechless and in awe. I subsequently got an apology. They were grateful. It's something you just don't see unless you go after it.

    President Reagan you're legacy is forever ingrained in America's history sir, though I was born towards the end of your second term I've always respected and admired you. Your sense of humor, your personality and your leadership were second to none! When you passed on to Heaven the American people lost a dear friend, a great leader and an outstanding President! Rest In Peace sir!

    doesn't make much sense they used a 707 . im sure there were bigger planes in the 80's

    • @TheRealSimpleSimon
      @TheRealSimpleSimon Před 8 lety +4

      +Skankpronger You must be a kid. That 707 became AF1 in 1973. The 707 was in active manufacturing production all the way until 1979. The 767 replaced it (not as AF1), starting service in 1981.
      As for the 747 replacing the 707 as AF1, that was initiated by Reagan in 1985, and entered service in 1991.
      The current AF1 747s will be soon replaced by the new generation 747-8 series.

    • @yragcom1
      @yragcom1 Před 7 lety +1

      You're correct. I was amazed also by how long the AF1s stayed in service. 26000 was in service from '62 to '98, and this plane, 27000 was in use from '72 to 2001. I've been to the Reagan several times to see the AF1 exhibit. Just one part of a great place overall.

    • @danieldougan269
      @danieldougan269 Před 6 lety +4

      doothless Agreed. He was spectacularly terrible. He ran up huge deficits with massive defense spending and tax cuts, and he presided over a massive stock market crash in 1987 that led to a recession for Bush when he was President.
      But, as much as I can't stand Reagan or George W. Bush, they would be huge upgrades over the unstable, egomaniacal nutjob we have in the White House right now.
