One of the most important details is that even while the father is wearing the tutu his shadow is still blue. Masculinity and femininity isn’t effected by such meaningless things. His dad will be a man no matter what because that’s who *he* is. Love this short so much.

IIRC, color coding for gender was reversed pre-1900s. Pink was considered a strong "masculine" color while blue was considered subdued and "feminine". I have to crack a smile every time another guy says they don't want pink because it's a "girly" color. Once upon a time, LOL

I'm a girl. I identify myself as a girl. I was born as a girl. In my 18 years of living I was always poked for doing "boyish" things: wearing suits, playing video-games, not using, refusing to wear pink make-up etc. It was hurtful as a child, expecially from my family. Why can't just everyone mind their own business?

Exactly the Same with me... Especially my color Taste I won't forget The day when I was Like 7 years old when my aunt Said To my mother why don't you Just make The room pink. I hate pink lol. My room was yellow these days but nowadays my Wall is blue, I Play Video Games, I played with lego in my childhood And Literally have nightmares Till today when I was forced to Play with Barbie... I Just wanted my lego And cars And whatever I had. Even my VTech Laptop was The "Boy Version" in blue And Till today I'm proud of That. Pink is awful. And I don't have to be lesbian or whatever to Like Boys stuff. I can't even really make friendships with Girls I always were in The Boy group at school. I only have two female friends. I lost my First Boyfriend a few years ago after He Said 2 years later That He is gay Like wtf... My heart was broken forever. I somehow started hating homosexuals And all Just because of him And Had a Lot of Stress And arguing with my graphicdesigner class cause of That. ... I feel sorry I Felt Bad That I never Had The power to get over it and my character got even worse... So since a half year I have my new Boyfriend who understood That all And He is fine with anyone And treat anyone Equal Like His mother told him... I wish I could be more Like him... And it happened, I got better. I still don't understand everything I Watched This Video And all And yeah... Maybe I'm on a right way.... I never Had Something against gays till That happened.... I also had to wear a pink dress when I've finished my school. I can't Walk on Highheels.... This was The worst day ever. I hate dresses I Just want My comfy pants And die😂🙈 sorry for That Long Message but I needed to Put my thoughts in order I guess... That is important

it should be a comfort to know that the majority of women's clothing is designed by men. :) cis or otherwise, men are almost always directly involved in women's fashion and women's attire whether it be high fashion on the runway or walmart mini skirts. The contradiction in the world that men can design women's clothing and tell women how they can and cannot dress in society but yet aren't allowed to wear anything but pants and shirts for fear of social ostracization is one that needs to be broken and trashed. Men, cis or otherwise, wear what you wanna wear. Women fought HARD to do exactly that, it's time for men to earn the same rights :)

I think boys who play with girly items, like baby dolls, is actually awesome, because it means he will learn how to take care of a baby when he becomes a dad himself! Or girls who play sports will learn that it is more a physical thing than a bro thing! But be that as it may, masculine, feminine, or even being androgynous, I think children deserve to express how they want no matter what gender they are! But he wants to communicate, because he loves and cares for him, and so he puts on a tutu and the son’s perception of his hyper-masculine character changes.

As a trans male and a fem boy at the same time I can very much say that my shadow was never the color it was supposed to be. I think it’s more of a purple than anything. And you know what? That’s okay. I love my shadow because it shows me who I really am on the inside. Who I can be if I just trust myself enough to try. And I want to be that beautiful shade of purple that I see. Sometimes it isn’t always the same. Sometimes it’s a violet. Sometimes it’s indigo. It fluctuates and changes with my moods and interests as I grow. People in our lives are fleeting. Interpersonal relationships are complicated and messy, and no one is ever going to like every single thing that you do. But your shadow is the deepest, purest part of who you are. And even though that may change and alter itself, it will never leave your side. 💜

it's such a weird thing in society, one year later, to see how things have shifted. men aren't allowed to be masculine anymore, but they are called trans and gay if they are effeminate. women can't be soft and gentle and girly, they now have to be portrayed as tough and macho. it's like everything has turned on its head. I totally wish the rest of society would stop with the labeling and go back to when people could express themselves without being told they must be trans/gay or anything else.
