Lynyrd Skynyrd was the epitome of Southern Rock.
The epitome of rock!
I request this song all the time on various channels when Lynyrd Skynyrd comes up, and never got any support. This is top tier Skynyrd right here.
The greatest Southern rock band ever, and one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Look up Southern rock in the dictionary and there should be a pic of Lynyrd Skynyrd next to the entry.
And sorry, 60+ year-olds, but you don't get to claim them all to yourselves. Us 50+ year-olds also grew up with them and love them.
Im 72 , there's enough Skynyrd for all of us...
@@larrynorgaard5730 Amen brother.
48 here and didnt. Truelly appreciate ls until I was more mature and now I can't get the enough of them.
I’m 42 and listen to them daily!
Introduced to this band by my older brother home from college for the summer. Can and could not get enough.
I think it says something different. She’s “overdue”? “Never pulled my gun” “I ain’t the one baby, been messing with you”.
I always took it as she had a bun in the oven and trying to hook him to be the daddy.
Exactly. You're talking jive woman, when you say to me, your daddy's gonna take us in, take care of me.....The whole song is about her trying to make him admit he is the father.
That’s right! When I was a young stupid wet behind the years teenager, I figured that one out lol
Lynyrd Skynyrd is always awesome!!!
This is why use 60 plus year olds love this band. Southern Rock and Roll at its finest.👍👍🤟🤟🤟🤟
And to grow up in this area was great 👍 👌 🙌 ☺️
I discovered them in my late teens early 20s back in the early/mid 2000s. Tuesday’s gone one of my favorite songs of all time. Simple Man is 🔥
THE greatest southern rock band of all time. Consider the short amount of time they were together before the plane crash took half of them. Consider hardly any of them had musical training, yet turned out masterpiece after masterpiece . Consider they were one of the first bands to use TWO lead guitars and were arguably the best at making them compliment each other so brilliantly...reference FREEBIRD! Pick a song...any song...and you will go for a joy-filled ride. RIP Lynyrd Skynyrd. This makes me super happy that their music and contributions to the music community will not be forgotten. Thanks!
So nice to see the young enjoyig music ❤
I called this band! Heard "Sweet Home Alabama" and said, "This is gonna be a monster band!", was I right?? Saw them in end of summer '77 at Mile High Stadium in Denver, what a show- They had everyone on their feet the whole show, just rocked that stadium!!! Ronnie Van Zant said he liked to sing barefoot, so he could feel that stage burn, and I believe it! A big part of the soundtrack of my life, loved these guys! RIP Gary R and all the rest, hopefully you're all together again - thanks for all the great music... ❤️😢❤😢❤
You're right about Ronnie barefoot. 💯 Saw them twice in '73? 74? in North Carolina and Georgia. At one of the shows the mic stand was nailed to the floor because Ronnie was wasted and it held him up! Good times... 🤗
I found them in 1972 when no one knew they were amazing. I've been laughing the whole time when people said they weren't good. I'm smiling right now!
Lynyrd Skynyrd " T for Texas live knebworth 1976 " is amazing.
One of my Lynyrd Skynyrd favorites is Gimme 3 Steps. I don't think you've done that one yet.
Absolutely! And really, the entire 1st album is outrageously good imo!
My friends played this song for me when it first came out and I became a fan. Very unique in all ways
The first song I ever heard by Skynyrd was this song. It's the first song on their debut album. Still one of my favorite songs by them. The whole album is amazing. Y'all have heard several songs from it, but the ones you've missed are just as good. Things Going On is worth a listen.
Yes indeed. We all heard 'Sweet Home Alabama' on the Top 40 radio stations. My buddy went out and bought their debut album. 'Pronounced'. Drop the needle. This is cut #1. I remember 'Freebird' was just starting to get FM airplay. Yeah, I'm a geezer. Just turned 64 a few days ago.
The Skynyrd boys wrote this song when they were just teenagers! Just extremely gifted musicians!
Lynyrd Skynyrd is without a doubt the most recognizable legendary Southern Rock Band they transcend every generation with kick ass grab you by the balls lyrics Ronnie Van Zant was a great showman with style!
I don’t know about that. Hard to dismiss the Allnan Brothers (especially when Duane was with them-though Dickey Betts was no slouch either). Both outstanding bands, and very recognizable!!
A great lyricist yes, showman? When someone says showman they usually mean stage performance he pretty much just stood there and sang not really much of a showman as I understand that term to be used though.
There's a great live version of this one at Knebworth, England 1976
The last remaining member of Lynyrd Skynyrd which is Gary rossington just past away on March 12th this past Sunday love that music didn't know if you knew that or not
Gary Rossington past away Sunday March 5, 71 year old😭, LYNYRD SKYNYRD MUSIC LIVE`S FOREVER👏👏
Lynyrd Skynyrd....Fking greatness, period.
RIP Gary Rossington
Skynyrd has a huge sound. They use all their parts full blast with no apologies.
They are one incredible band in which they mix southern rock, bluesy band. Skynyrd has always been and will always be one of my most finest bands 💙 Can't ever go wrong with Skynyrd ❤
Please someone tell me what band is better? I'm trying to find someone who thinks another band is better than them or Jimi Hendrix. I would love to find the conversation.
Ballad of Curtis low was my 1st song i ever heard from skynyrd believe it or not i was hooked after that
POISON WHISKEY, Fourth song, First album.
Check out Got That Right, if you haven’t yet. Ronnie shares lead vocals with Steve, and showcases Steve’s guitar work.
Well now you gotta hear them do I Need You. Powerful, crunchy love song.
this is one of my favs
Brother T...if y'all dig Skynyrd, you HAVE to check out Blackberry Smoke!! If Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers had a baby, and that baby's uncles were Marshall Tucker and Molly Hatchet, and was babysit by Blackfoot, well then...THAT is Blackberry Smoke!!
I ve heard this song a 1000 times, but never gave Leon Wilkerson his props on bass. Another great Lynyrd Sknyrd tune.
Skynrd has always been my favorite since they started. Great band 👌 👏
Learn how to spell their name then!! Lol. 🙂 It’s ‘Skynyrd’, with two ‘y’s. Just saying!
Skynryd makes me glad I’m old
Early Allman Brothers, maybe 1st album or Live at The Fillmore East. I consider them a blues/jazz band.
T has always a smile. Love it. And the way Tasha gets into it... Too good.
One of my favorite, give me back my bullets, that smell . But I love them all . I wouldn't change the station when they come on
I think y’all would appreciate their tune about the music biz: “Working For MCA”. Great lyrics about the band signing to their label, with another call and response guitar solo that rivals even “Freebird”. Guaranteed pure 🔥 🔥🔥
Man Ronnie was one of the best song writers ever You can tell that these guys grew up in the south just by listening to some of the lyrics of their music Now you talking jive woman when you say me Skynyrd was the best Rockin Roll band that I have ever heard It blows my mind to think about how many great songs they had in such a short time These guys knew how to put on a great show Some of the best musicians to ever play music
Grew up in Florida in the 70s j ville green cove springs, yeah buddy home of Skynyrd.
Definitely need to listen to on the hunt.
That’s what I was gonna suggest.. such a badass but often overlooked gem.
A song about a girl that got pregnant and he said I ain't the one. Now she wanna marry him and her daddy will take care if him. Gotta love those lyrics. I've been a Skynyrd fan all my life. They ain't got a song that I don't like. You can't go wrong with LYNYRD SKYNYRD!!!
Its funk with some soul metal. The bass is funky.
i loved that one.
Would love to see you react to their double live album, just to hear how good they were live. Gary Rossington’s uncanny ability to double up his own solo’s in studio work was truly a gift. May he rest in peace. “One More From The Road,” is the double live LP. Their amazing rendition of “Cream’s” version of “Crossroads” is still the best live cover out there. (These guys worked their collective asses off, and it shows) Regards 🤘😎
Its Allen Collins playing this solo and he is the one who always doubled his solos.
@@bennyh4950 Thanks for the correction. 👈
I'm gonna post some sacrilege for some of ya ... my favorite Skynard song is Ain't No Good Life off Street Suvivors. Written by Steve Gaines when he was in his him previous band, Crawdad. Its the only song in the Skynard catalog that Ronnie doesnt sing lead on. Now, don't go completely sideways on me here, all Skynard is still in god-like territory for me.
Good traveling song. I like the version with the coral singing back track "oh-oh-oh"
Ballad of Curtis Leow is another great underrated song
That's not sacrilege, it's a great song!
The Allman Brothers. They were the forerunners of Lynard Skynyrd. In Fact, they idolized The Allman Brothers Band, and they actually knew them well.
Great Natural Reactions👍I love it ...
Greatest rock that has ever been, or ever will be !
God bless our beloved
Southland !!
Guys, if you like this, then heck, play it again!!!!
Lol, we did.
That entire "pronounce" album is fire.
Southern Fried Rock n Roll 🤟 🙏 theses guys kick some butt !! Been a fan from The First LP. 😃 Just some of the Southern Fried R&R . Allman Brothers, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet. Just to name a few. Good time Rock n Roll 🙏
Saturday Night Special was a great song too, even down to how it's played on guitar - good stuff!
Try "Ain't no good". Written and sang by Steve Gaines. He was killed in the crash. Amazing song
Love this song
Good song good people reacting thank you
This is a great song. Check out " T for Texas " live by them.
So funny watching you two. As a 70 year old I can tell you it was wonderful listening to these guys as a stoned young man back in the day.
Here's a Lynyrd Skynyrd song no one has reacted to. Yet, it's such a great song that John Cougar Mellancamp loves performing it live in his concerts. The song is "Down South Jukin' " from the Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd album
They call me the breeze, is a cover of the late great JJ Cale song. I would suggest Magnolia (both pretty laid back), Traces, in fact just pick any you can't really go wrong.
This song is so UNDERRATED! Best band EVER! ❤
Think you'd enjoy ~
🔥"I Know A Little" by Skynyrd 🔥
• • studio version please😊
Loudest band ive ever attended! I cried when i heard their plane went down. That one hurt!
you guys rock
Honky Tonk music here, lyrics about love with a fighting beat. Both bases covered in da Honky Tonk, fighting or loving.
One of the most Legendary American bands of all time!
Excellent selection.
Goddamn son 🫵
Molly Hatchet mirrored Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ronnie Van Zant was rumored to be getting ready to be their producer
This is one their best !! Enouugh with the Freebird already !!!!!
Funny you mentioned it, when Skynyrd first made it big they were called America's Rolling Stones. Of course Skynyrd said something like the Rolling Stones were England's Lynyrd Skynyrd, but whatever. Anyway. Ronnie- the singer- wasn't trying to cause conflict in this song, but avoid it. The girl wants him to marry her cause she's overdue, she's pregnant, her daddy has money & will take care of them etc. But he says "I never hurt you sweetheart, never pulled my gun." The kid ain't his- he "Ain't The One." One of their hardest rocking tracks, the first cut on their first album. I'm 6 months late here other people probably already said all this, but anyway thanks!
Over the Target , here .
Yes sir.
Thank you kindly for another reaction to Lynyrd Skynyrd, the standard bearers of Southern Rock.
You can't go wrong with Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Just remember, there are PLENTY of women who are just fine with the "no commitments" type of logic, so I actually salute them for being open and honest. They're just saying, "Hey, I'm telling you up front ... I'm down with hanging out, but not hanging 'round".
🔥
These Jax boys were the epitome of a rock band. So sorry they're all gone now.
Listen to the song called Double Trouble by Lynyrd Skynyrd really good
He never pulled his gun. That shows restraint.
The could play ANY genre. That plane tho
First song, First album.
Miss Duain Gregg Ronnie Oakley. Rest in Peace Gary. Blackberry Smoke Carrying on. Chris Stapleton Kentucky Headhunters 🕊️🪴
You'll have to watch the documentary on the band "If I leave here tomorrow" It is great.
Lynyrd Skynyrd You are not the father 👍🤣 🤣🤣
Feel like I want to go back to the south the 70s.
Call me the breeze is a JJ Cale song. Y’all should take a look at him. 13 Days and Cocaine are good jumping off points.
Always listen to there live versions. You'll understand when you do.
T For Texas at Knebworth
Gem
That woman is fishing.
yup!
A real R&R group. There all gone now. I think RM is the closest remaining original member. He went to MS's & recorded there first real album.
Who is the daddy? :) Love this song!
Girl is knocked up and trying to lay it on him . But he never pulled his GUN on her
LS the GOAT
try I KNOW A LITTLE it will be your favorite!!!!
For FEMALE FRIDAYS!!! MARY CUTRUFELLO "Goodnight Dark Angel''; "Miss You #3'''; "Sunny Day" ALL Studio Versions. A Soul-Sister who RAWHKSSS!! On Guitar and Vocals!! Give her listens-SEE what you Missed Since the mid 1990s.
TOMMY BOLIN "Dreamer" A MUST!; "Wild Dogs"; and The James Gang "Alexis". Tommy on Guitars, Vocals and Songwriting on "Alexis".
I'm "Betting" that WHEN you hear ALL 3 That You Too will be a forever Tommy Bolin Fan!!
You heard "Post Toastee", so IF you listen to these Extra 3, you will be In Love With TOMMY BOLIN's MUSIC!!
Well you need to hear their song I NEED YOU
Check out SKYNRDS ...THINGS GOIN ON, its gold
She’s pregnant (“you’re overdue”)and trying to marry him, but he says he never “pulled his gun” (they never had sex!) re-read the lyrics with that in mind and it all will make sense
Ronnie could do no wrong with music!
No better!
She's overdue and he ain't the one...a often told story. My friend said it twice.
Want more southern fried funky jazzy rock... Ain't No Good Life is arguably their best ! LS's 1976 Knebworth performance proved why they were and still are the best "southern rock" band. The Allman Brothers were but had long since transcended that genre much like Pink Floyd did with rock and roll.
Try on the hunt.
First for first time ever lol
She's overdue. That's the key. He's saying he ain't the one. He never pulled his gun. So shes knocked up and trying to hook him by telling him her rich daddy will take him in and care for them.
