Far too much respect shown to Leicester, horrible gameplan from Wagner and shows why he isnt/shouldn't be in our future plans
Our midfield was to open,we sat to deep and no spark in the team,a ball winning midfielder has to be high on the list for next season, next week is huge against them down the road, got to get Hanley and Rowe even 70 percent fit put him in as his pace and trickery we need badly against the old enemy in blue, got to be on it next week to get a result and unbeaten run going, come on city give it 110percent next Saturday,🤞💛💚🇬🇫👍
You and 14 others who liked this comment don’t know ball
So a person who does know football ( its not ball ) must be happy with a manager with tactics to defend for 70 minutes with a less than average defence which would inevitably end with conceding goals and a defeat.
@@roryglives Leicester were heavy favourites to win this game for a reason and they did. Stop being so fickle
@@roryglives their squad has 10x more quality than ours and we couldn’t break them down. It’s really not as deep as Wagner being “incompetent” like you’re saying
When you're up against a team in bad form (whatever team it is) you attack them early and put them on edge. You make them worried and shaky at the back. We gave them so much space it was almost effortless for them. Even when we played Liverpool we had a weaker team but showed some attacking intention and scored more goals there. I wouldn't be surprised if we play like prime barca in the derby since Wagner seems to think it's the law to let big teams beat you away from home.
It's the classic Along came Norwich fixture all too predictable
Set it to 0.5 speed and it sounds like Jack has seriously hit the Lacons
Holy fuck that's brilliant
I don't know where to start, we came out second half trying to hold on to 1-1. Went 2-1 down and still tried to hang on for 1-1 ? If I'm Van H I take my money for doing nothing, wait until Wagner is desperate and trying to save his job in the last game of the season and when he asks me to go on, I tell him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. What's he going to do sack me? Awful.
That was essentially a glimpse at every away day next season if promoted and it’s scary
Don't forget the home ones also.
I feel like in some situations the way we set up today could have worked. We saw it against Southampton at home, hull away and Ipswich away that sitting deep and going at them on the counter can work. Difference in those games was when we eventually got the ball back we were clinical in possession; today that just didnt happen. Can we blame Wagner for this? Today for me it looked a lot like we were let down by the players more so than the tactic. Agree the tactic was wholeheartedly negative but at the end of the day even with Leicester’s bad form we have to respect their squad; as soon as it became evident that certain individuals were struggling with confidence and couldn’t string a couple passes together theirs not much Wagner can do off the bench to change that. On the other hand, Leicester have a stacked bench that could easily complete for places in our staring 11. Think we’ve just gotta take this game on the chin and back the boys for the derby.
That was disappointing - we should have taken it to them more, we sat back and let them come on to us. We needed to show more attacking mentality, especially when we went ahead and their heads were down. However, we need to consider this was £60 million per annum player salaries playing £24 Million. So, onwards and upwards to beat Ipswich on Saturday and drag them into the play-offs!
Salaries are an easy way out. The form book is what counts.
@@TS-rb2zl. Map the salaries per club to the current league positions and then tell me it’s just down to form.
Whilst disappointing, the plus sides are a) we didn't seem to work hard at all. This is to be expected given we played on Friday but this should give us plenty of energy come Saturday, whilst Ipswich will be pushing hard against Southhampton. b) Leicester are back in the title race. Overall bad bad performance but some silver linings
Let’s not forget we were playing a team that was in the PL and breached FPP by a very large amount last year and looks like they will also breach this year, I wouldn’t feel to disheartened.. we will have better days, really I’m more disappointed that we lost to lesser teams away previously
Lets not forget their last 2 home league games were defeats by Middlesbrough and QPR.
I agree with the fact we were too passive. Problem was the early goal we got made us even worst. Yeah dissapointing but hopefully we have learned from that.
You know when Norwich score first away from home they usually always end up losing
Passive is a really appropriate adjective Jack. I was sat with the Leicester fans and they were getting really frustrated after c 30 minutes. We just had no apparent desire to push forward and attack after our first goal.
Going to be a very scary run in
Let’s face it, they have a much better squad than us. We also showed them far too much respect! I would go as far
Never mind the loss to leicester. The real issue is are you really going to be competitive in the play off's or are you there just to make up the numbers. I would suggest the latter.
Throughout my time following Norwich (over a decade and a half), we've never been defensively solid, not even in the Championship. I joke to my mates who don't support Norwich saying we always give the opposition at least a freebie goal for turning up. As a club, we don't suit grinding out 1-0 wins, especially away from home. We need to go out and attack teams and outscore them. The way we played today suggests the team and manager didn't believe we could go and score more against an out of form Leicester team. Even if we're promoted, that attitude won't serve us well in the Premier League. Another missed opportunity. Also, getting frustrated we're not seeing Van Hooijdonk at all. What was the point in signing him if he's not getting game time? Waste of money and time for everyone involved.
Wagner got it completely wrong with his setup and tactics, never showed any will to take the game to Leicester and played far too deep especially as we cannot defend.
Norwich looked poor…passing sloppy, challenges weak, no threat going forward and sitting back inviting pressure. Need a massive improvement for Saturday. Really disappointing display today.
To be honest jack you hit the nail on the head. Like you said we are chalk and cheese when it comes to home and away. think you could have more critical of Wagner and how we set up for away matches. Especially today the players can do better than this by a mile
Our defence is just not good enough against the better teams, if Plymouth can create several good chances against us, then the better teams will and punish you, they have a week to sort something out because we can’t give the scum to many opportunities or they will do the same as Leicester, and none of us want to watch that. COYY💛💚
If we get to the prem we will be up against this sort of team or better every week . OTBC
@@rocketman66 we aren’t good enough to get to the premier league , we are where we should be, what’s the point in a year in the premier league losing week in and out. As a fan don’t you feel better winning games in this division?
Yes, not good enough for the premiership! At all! Those recent seasons we went up, we were not good enough then either; and we are not as good now!
But I did not see the game, just getting what is being said!
You can moan about away from all you like but the truth is that we were against perhaps the best team in the league and they looked levels above us. I feel comfortable in saying that they are a premier league quality side whereas we simply are not.
Everybody is so preoccupied with the question of whether we can make the playoffs that nobody has actually asked if we can win the damned thing. I don’t fancy us at all in a two legged match against any of Ipswich, Leeds or Leicester and if by some miracle we did make it to Wembley, we’d very likely be facing Southampton and I would strongly fancy them to beat us too. Our record and performances in general against the top teams this season back me up on this.
we got beaten by the better team and better players 🔰
This
I am frankly bewiddled that we went into a game in such good form, against an opponent in awful form, and set up that negatively.
Sure, you can see what David was TRYING to do, defend deep, pass out from the back and look for a counter. It was foolish against a team with so much pace and without the quality in that CDM position to relieve the pressure and link up the fowards.
Performance wise it was really, really poor, but I feel that with better tactics and a less negative setup, we had a real shot to win this game - but it felt like Wagner planned for defeat.
We were far too deep after scoring first and gave Leicester a bit too much respect but I’m not surprised or miffed about this game really. For me it’s all about the response and getting a win next Saturday and if we’d have got anything there today it would’ve been hugely helpful to the Binners. We can’t have that can we! OTBC CTID!! 😁💛💚
Mcallum drifted to give Vardy an acre of space for the goal
Men and boys. We looked lethargic. Sorenson looks a better CB than Duffy. Well off it. Gotta do alot alot better Saturday.
you guys better turn up for ipswich
Lots of tired looking players, the Leicester team looked more athletic and faster and more eager to win the ball. Our athleticism and drive is lacking.
No really is it.
Ipswich fan here who watched the game and was surprised at how it played out. On form I was expecting you to really challenge Leicester. Play more of the same on Saturday please, though suspect you will put in a much better showing. Likelihood that either the Leicester or Ipswich games will be a prelude to the playoffs.
Simple Wagner out.
Just imagine us in the prem.
We simply got beaten by a better team, they shut us down very well. We missed someone quick down the wing like Hernandez because we couldn’t break them down whatever we tried. Instead of being negative just accept we got beaten by the best team in the league. Away form is not a ‘real problem’ when we’re wining at home and still getting some results away
He literally states he is disappointed because of how well we've been doing. Therefore, he was hoping for a good result, so I would say that's a much more positive approach than simply saying, "we got beaten by the better team.". Based on that, you either haven't watch the video or you are seeking out negativity. Unfortunately for you, you have a supply and demand issue in regards to negativity. The message being delivered isn't automatically make it negative because it opposes your own.
@@TS-rb2zl nah mate these guys, jack in particular, have been negative even through our whole patch of good form. I can’t stand him anymore. Shame because he’s a good lad
