I just remember how awesome it was coming in to the arcades and seeing the next version! Back then they didn’t really talk about upcoming arcade games so it was a surprise every time. It was major to go from Marvel vs SF to Marvel vs Capcom!!
They need to make this as a Collection already. I tried collecting these games individually, and it just cost too much get individually, let alone the game systems I have to buy with it.
Couldn’t agree more. XMvsSF and MSHvsSF only had decent ports on the Japanese Saturn. You’re left with paying whatever those may cost now, or getting the Arcade1up versions. Making a collection would be free money for everyone involved.

The day I saw Marvel vs Capcom intro screen on a bigass screen in an arcade in Vancouver 23 years ago was a day I could never forget But for the arcade, it was saturday.
X-Men Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 are my favorite intros. While X-Men:Children Of The Atom, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men Vs Street Fighter, and Marvel Vs Capcom 1&2 are my favorite MVC games.
I started at X men vs Street fighter casually at the arcade. Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter was my favorite. Best intro, best stages,best music and one hell of a boss character (Cyber Akuma). I remember I lent my disc to a friend on PS1 and never got it back. I still have the case and insert manual, but no disc. Sad times haha
My local Walmart usually had one of these games in the lobby back when they were new (starting with X-Men CotA). I remember seeing XMvSF show up one day and it blew my mind that it was even a thing. I only saw MSHvSF in the wild at some random mall arcades during a few road trips. Definitely the best intro. You could hear that thing screaming to get played over everything else. I'm surprised there was never a re-release of those first two vs games. The PS1 versions were crippled. The Saturn versions were the best, but only available as imports.

Marvel 3 was a good second wind, and just lacked a few MVC2 characters and balance patches from being the best. MSH vs Street Fighter is probably my favorite arcade intro of all-time. I clearly remember seeing that game for the first time in a mall arcade with the volume screaming over everything else in the general area. No other fighting game announcer has that much hype.
I like how people bash or complained about Marvel vs Capcom series that for them it's a weird crossover sure it's not that balanced fighting game but it was fun plus the combos are fast dang even MCU fans think Omega red was a fan art not a official marvel character XD mostly people complained due they can do supermoves I mean there's a tutorial or training mode
I keep saying that! It blows my mind that this hasn't happened yet! I can only assume Disney and Capcom hate money ... To this day, the only decent home ports of X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter were released on the Sega Saturn (and only in Japan!) in the late 90s ... Unless you want to buy an Arcade1up.

I think the hype one is got to be marvel superheroes versus Street fighter. 👍This is the way they hyped it up, but I like the way marvel versus Capcom 2 new age of heroes no idea sleepless nights people coming to the crib just to play that game. 😎💯

@@ohmygahdbilly yeah it was something like that. It may have just been a petty thing at the time. They pretty much buried anything related to the FF4 and X-Men in the comics around the same time. Once they bought Fox, everything came back.
@@ohmygahdbilly They owned the rights, just not the movie ones. They had a public spat with FOX over it at the time so they decided not to promote X-Men and Fantastic Four anymore. So in all of Disney's strop throwing, they finished the comics, banned their artists from drawing and signing for those characters at conventions and removed them from Infinite. Kinda wild. All because they wanted them for the MCU but couldn't.
100% ... The only console releases of XMvsSF and MSHvsSF sold in the US were crap. The Sega Saturn had the only good ports, and those were Japan-only. The arcade ROMs are easy to emulate now, but I bet a whole lot of people have never experienced those games.
I'm actively working on a similar video of the "other" versus games. TvC and SFxT keep giving me copyright issues, but I hope to have it up within the next couple of weeks.
I'm super freaking hyped for the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. Not only am I looking forward to replaying X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2, but I'm also excited to finally play, The Punisher, X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter for the first time. The latter two of which I WAS going to get the Japanese Sega Saturn versions, but when this collection was announced during the last Nintendo Direct presentation, that was out of the question.
I was super lucky to stumble onto those Saturn imports through a local Software Etc. back in the day. I still have them! They're still the best home versions to play. It's about time we finally got a full release of all these. I've been complaining for years, but now I'm so excited to have these on modern systems.
Marvel Super Heroes Legit is the First Time I knew Thanos Never knew who the fuck he is and didn't know about Infinity War I just know he was badass XD that's why I was so hype when he was reveal in the Avengers (2012) post credit not because of the comic but because of the game

Moreover, it only came to exist in place of the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars: Code Holder, and it's such a stupid thought that they didn't go outside the box of their fighting game IPs to look for more characters to include.

To this day, the only decent home ports of X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter were released on the Sega Saturn (and only in Japan!) in the late 90s ... Unless you want to buy an Arcade1up.
@@DoctorBadvibes yes so the main problem now is with Disney because of marvel rights, I don’t understand both companies if they launch all this is a guaranteed profit for them, because another way to play them is through emulators but by this way, these specific games generate crashes.

I think the hype one is got to be marvel superheroes versus Street fighter. 👍This is the way they hyped it up, but I like the way marvel versus Capcom 2 new age of heroes no idea sleepless nights people coming to the crib just to play that game. 😎💯
@@ChristopherLoyd-fk8wb I have a very clear memory of walking into an arcade with no idea MSHvsSF had released. It was in the middle of the whole place with the volume blasting and screaming to be played.
The lack of Wolverine in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite broke my heart man...what a disappointing game it was in general.
So petty that Disney seemed to keep the X-Men out. They were the catalyst to this series even existing.
@@DoctorBadvibes I think at the time they didn’t actually own the rights to xmen so I assume they just decided it would be easier to turn it into an mcu roster and pander to the modern “marvel” fans who only know the franchise through the movies
@@ohmygahdbilly yeah it was something like that. It may have just been a petty thing at the time. They pretty much buried anything related to the FF4 and X-Men in the comics around the same time. Once they bought Fox, everything came back.
@@ohmygahdbilly They owned the rights, just not the movie ones. They had a public spat with FOX over it at the time so they decided not to promote X-Men and Fantastic Four anymore.
So in all of Disney's strop throwing, they finished the comics, banned their artists from drawing and signing for those characters at conventions and removed them from Infinite.
Kinda wild. All because they wanted them for the MCU but couldn't.

100% ... The only console releases of XMvsSF and MSHvsSF sold in the US were crap. The Sega Saturn had the only good ports, and those were Japan-only. The arcade ROMs are easy to emulate now, but I bet a whole lot of people have never experienced those games.

I'm super freaking hyped for the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. Not only am I looking forward to replaying X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2, but I'm also excited to finally play, The Punisher, X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter for the first time. The latter two of which I WAS going to get the Japanese Sega Saturn versions, but when this collection was announced during the last Nintendo Direct presentation, that was out of the question.
I was super lucky to stumble onto those Saturn imports through a local Software Etc. back in the day. I still have them! They're still the best home versions to play. It's about time we finally got a full release of all these. I've been complaining for years, but now I'm so excited to have these on modern systems.

Marvel Super Heroes Legit is the First Time I knew Thanos Never knew who the fuck he is and didn't know about Infinity War I just know he was badass XD that's why I was so hype when he was reveal in the Avengers (2012) post credit not because of the comic but because of the game
I’d bet a lot of people were in the same boat. He’d really never shown up in much else outside of comics until the MCU. Just these games and some episodes of the 90s Silver Surfer cartoon that no one watched …

Moreover, it only came to exist in place of the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars: Code Holder, and it's such a stupid thought that they didn't go outside the box of their fighting game IPs to look for more characters to include.
