This is the XBLA version in widescreen played on the Xbox 360. Originally released on Sega's Naomi arcade hardware in 2000. Ported later that year to the Sega Dreamcast. The game has also seen physical releases on the original Xbox and PS2. Digital releases existed on Xbox 360, PS3, and even iOS. Unfortunately, all of the digital releases have been delisted since the end of 2013.

Sentinel has always sucked lol...even in his first game Children of the Atom. It's mind boggling to me that they only included Sabertooth in a handful of the early games and Gambit as well. Rogue could have been interesting to keep around because they could have allowed her to actually steal the other person's move set...but I guess all of them got hate as characters. The same applies to Ice Man, I always thought he was very popular, but apparently not.

I'll never forget when the hype I felt for this game when it came out. I was an innocent 17 year old, about to graduate high school. Seeing all of these characters mix and mingle at the arcade was a dream come true for a teenage me. I still have my Dreamcast copy to this day. The soundtrack for this game, the combos, the supers, going to the mall just to pump my quarters into this arcade cabinet....it reminds me of a simpler time. No wars, pandemics or super high inflation. Cheers.

I forgot how SICK and badass Gambit's pose and hyper attacks 7:16 was in this game, and how unique Servbot and BB Hood were. MVC2 will always be a special part of my childhood game ❤
So much nostalgia in this video. My friends when we were roommates would have set matches with this or Smash Bros to determine who did chores. Winners were allowed to negate the chore of their choice so someone else had to do it

This roster is so much better than MvC3's. Much more varied, and gave lesser known characters a chance in the spotlight.
It helped having all the sprites available. I think they could do a great roster using MVC3, MVCi, and newly created assets ... if we ever see a real MVC4
Sadly the roster is totally disbalanced...
Also, have many characters similar to others.
(Including 2 Wolverines.)
How is this roster more varied than MvC3? Most characters in the Capcom side are from street fighter and most in the Marvel side are from the X-Men
I couldn't disagree more. Too many SF characters that are basically Ryu with slight difference. Two Wolverines. Why the hell are Roll and Servbot characters. UMVC3 has way waaaaay better roster. More representation from both capcom and Marvel and more balanced

Such fond memories of playing MvC 2 on my phone, I switched teams all the time until I settled on B.B. Hood, Tron and Juggernaut.

Did you have the iOS version of MVC2? I completely forgot that existed until I was putting this video up. I just dug up my old iPad to get some footage of that weird-ass port.
I did, and still do on my old phone, I was so hyped to play it because I didn’t have any consoles that had MvC 2, so that was the only way I could play it.

I had some goofy stick-on thumbstick for my screen. It helped, but still not a controller.

Instead of an HD Remix that lacks new sprites.
We needed an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with new heroes, new stages, new balanced gameplay, new moves & combos, new modes such as Adventure, 56+ endings, Strange Tales' Fin Fang Foom and Ghosts'n Goblins Astaroth as hidden giant bosses, CvS2 styled sprites, and a AST of the original soundtrack.
...and a wide screen update for Jin's Blodia specials.

It may not be my favorite game in the VS series (that will forever be the Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter one), but this is undoubtedly the greatest of them all. Anything that came after this stood in a shadow they could never escape from.

Oh wow, yeah this one is epic. It’s very hard to find and play without using emulation. The only physical releases have been PS2, OG Xbox, and Dreamcast … and the current Arcade1UP. Digital releases are all delisted.

@@christophercombs7561 About the same length here too … The last I remember seeing were very weird and cool. They had 2 race car cabinets converted to a MVC2 head-to-head setup. You sat down in it like you were going to play Pole Position or something, but it had a fight stick instead. Just a random mall arcade.

I know this team comp is kinda weird and probably not good at all, but I rocked Amingo, Ruby Heart, and Zangief. Ruby Heart lets you have control, while Amingo gives some good chip damage and can do some surprising numbers, all followed up with a classic Gief combo. It’s weird, it’s unpredictable, but I like it
You can totally make some fun teams outside of the top tier. I usually played with Morrigan, Shuma-Gorath, and Thanos. Hitting the bubble assist could lead to some sick damage.

Good old nostalgia. I used to play this a lot. Nice to see the classic supers. Seeing supers I didn't even know existed. But what annoys me is you missed a few supers some characters do have

Edit: Ok heres what i was able to find;
-Felicia's Rushdown
-You showed Charlie's Rushdown on ground but im pretty sure it can be used in the air as well just in case details matter.
-Conversely you showed Guile's Aerial Rushdown but i think it can be done on ground to. I dont play mvc2 sadly but i remember seeing it.
- Servbot has 2 other supers you didnt show and it depends on the assist he has. I believe its the same input as the hammer
-Sonson's POW can change enemies into different fruit depending on range (from Maxmillion's rate super)
-It was brief but Silver Samurai does have another super but its a solo one as in either he has 1 meter or hes the last man alive on a team in case there was a way to show.

Fighting game specials felt so much cooler when they weren't just cutscenes and actually played out in gameplay.
To be fair, SF6 has specials that play out in gameplay. They’re not all just cutscenes.
