Mavs fans are truly spoiled. We sunset the Dirk era at the same time Luka arrived. We've gotten 2 all time great, generational talents back to back. That's incredibly rare and Luka gives us a chance to get another Larry O in Dallas. What a time to be a Mavs fan.

@@bigred9991 JET is my second favorite player of all time (my brother would always hog Dirk on 2k so I would always be a 3 pt. specialist as Terry), but Tyson Chandler was the 2nd best player for sure. A strong, elite center was always what was always eluding the Mavs and keeping Dirk from winning multiple titles; Tyson was that missing piece.

it was also Dallas' first ring which makes it even more special but 3 rings is crazy, 2 would be enough or 1 really crazy one.
2011 is an amazing ring, not only did he beat an absolutely stacked team of cowards but LeBron pooped his pants in the finals thereby completely shattering his GOAT case, theres not many that can say they ended the GOAT case of a top candidate.
I agree because Dirk laid the foundation. The Mavs went from one of the all time worst franchises in pro sports to one of the best in Dirk’s time.

If you’re a Dirk fan, there’s a story out there about a high school aged Dirk taking on the best high school players in the US. Dirk absolutely destroys all of them, and some of the guys he destroyed went on to be great in the NBA. The story truly illustrates how great Dirk was at such a young age, it’s awesome!!

Those early clips of him are worth watching. He was incredibly skilled and FAST for his size.

Luka carried the Mavs all season with his teammates being out of rotation including Kyrie, keeping them up there and ending the season top 5. Going to average the end of the season with insane numbers never been done before. Ya'll crazyy this man is MVP.

@@frvshprinc3170out of the 80 games so far Kyrie has played in 58 of those games… so yes he’s missed 22 games this season and Luka has missed 10. i won’t say Luka carried, but the team without Luka won 4/10 games he’s missed without KAI the Mavs won 11/22 games he’s missed. the team went 15-17 without their 2 star players. with both of them on the court the team is 35-13 putting them 22 games over .500. The mavericks are by far one of if not the most deadliest teams when their superstar players are fully healthy. Luka is the most valuable player on this team though no question, that being said with stats like that proves that he is the most valuable player in the league.

He's being generous, Luka has 1 offensive hole and if he fixed it he'd arguably be the greatest offensive player of all time, that hole is off ball movement.
He tends to just stand around after passing the ball off to someone, which is fine cause hes spacing the floor by having a defender on him but if he started doing more off ball movement to get open (he has already shown flashes of it) he literally would have no offensive flaws.
He's already shooting 3pters in the very high 30% range WHILE shooting a comparable volume to Steph, imagine if he kept moving off ball that would shred any defense even harder than he already does.

Dirk is probably the most loved basketball player of our generation. I mean, there were multiple arenas that paid tribute to him retiring at THEIR house!!! That shows the impact and love he had for the game. Now we have Luka breaking record after record and just wants to get one NBA title! It IS a good time to be a Mavs fan!
