Hiking in the French Alps | Ecrins

The GR 54, or Tour des Ecrins, is a magnificent 192km (119 miles) loop trail in Ecrins National Park, in the French Alps.
Considering how beautiful it is, I was surprised to see how quiet the trail is, apart from a couple of popular spots.
It is not an easy trail, but it's well worth the effort.

ve it, it's an amazing trail.
I hiked it in August and it took me 5 and a half days, but I was hiking very long days. I'd say that people usually take 10-11 days.
The trail is challenging and has a lot of elevation gain/loss, but it's one of my favorite trails in France.
