  • I'm reacting to another guitar virtuoso today by the name of Marcin. Sometimes I don't really know how to react to these players, they're so talented it's rather hard to comprehend. The copyright bots were so strict on me with this video, I could only play about 5 seconds at a time without getting flagged sadly. So, I'm sorry, it irritates me as much as it does you.

    You sir have my respect for reading his bio before reacting. The grand majority of reactors never do that, and in case of Marcin it is very helpful to understand his insane level of skill. Many reactors are confuzed what is he even doing, and many think he is using some tricks or something, not being able to wrap their heads around how insainly skilled he is to be able to do this all for real.

    He was a classical guitar prodigy playing some of the most difficult pieces at age 10, thus his massive technique. Felt constrained by traditional classical music and switched to steel string, adding the percussive techniques he uses so well. A true genius.

    You know that Marcin has a classical education. You know that. Marcin once said that he is bored with classical performances because it is boring to play the same thing over and over again, so he remakes everything classical in his own way because he enjoys playing it all differently.

    There are few things in my life that I've been part of or have learned the dynamics of how something was formed, built, or works I classify as having the "wow" factor. I was there during the birth of my children and that was a definite wow. I have seen buildings and carved statues that was a wow. When I learned and saw what it takes to get a rocket, a shuttle, and humans in space I was like, "wow!"
    Over the past couple of weeks I watched a short with Marcin on AGT. As a fellow bass and guitar player myself I was just like the folks in that crowd on the show. I was blown away. So I had to see if this was real. Going though countless videos, shorts, and reactions from content creators, I come to realize he is the real deal. He at the young age of 22 is already a legend in my opinion and a WOW!

Ever so seldom, you see an unbelievable talented person, performing like this. I saw Tommy Emmanuel a few times, saw Jan Akkerman, Paco di Lucia (and some others) and some others on that level. This dude has crazy talent! I find it interesting how a few people in the comments think it's boring or bad... Maybe they're jealous that they don't have one tenth of his talent, or their taste in music is the opposite of eclectic? 🤷‍♀️
    Haven't heard of Marcin until now. Checked out his other stuff on YT and realised he was on America's Got Talent. I really like his rendition of SOAD's "Toxicity". Acoustic guitars are harder on the hands than electric. I used to own a cheap electric, but hardly played it as I preferred the acoustic sound.

    • @michaelkenner3289
      @michaelkenner3289 Před 10 měsíci +3

      I'd never call it bad, but I do find it a little boring. He's obviously very talented and come up with a set of very cool tricks. I don't think he's found anything interesting to do with those tricks though. After "wow, that's cool" he doesn't really prompt any other reaction.
      Massive respect for the man and his skills, but after sitting through three minutes of playing guitars unconventionally, I'm not planning on watching more of his performances.
      Though if you're enjoying it, then awesome. He's clearly having fun performing it and if you're enjoying watching it, what more could anyone ask for. Not my thing though.

    • @pureamoursoul
      @pureamoursoul Před 10 měsíci +5

      Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we all have different interests. It's not just his "tricks" that I think are interesting, but his arrangement of the songs he covers. He puts his own spin on it, which I think sounds aesthetically pleasing. Also, one person being able to create that amount of sound with precision in their live performance is impressive to me. Makes me curious about what he could do with composing 100% original material.
      Anyway, there's stuff I find boring that others might not e.g. some of my friends like to stay inside and play board games all day. I can only join them for an hour max before I get bored to death! I'd rather be outside enjoying the good weather on the beach or going for a bush walk.

    I'm gonna say that the reason it feels like guitar players are getting better is that these kinds of virtuoso performances translate much better to a 5 minute CZcams video than they do to a whole albums worth of songs (where you can't see what's going on) or a live performance (where again you're not going to pick up on the subtleties of what's going on very well). Also so many CZcams tutorials and videos of others playing to inspire people to do crazier and crazier stuff.

    Marcin's English is also amazing and he once said in an interview that he just practiced playing the guitar methodically 5 hours a day, no more, but each and every day.

    Wow ❤ it is a wonderful cover of Carmen's Habanera! He is awsome guitar player my god!
    He should came to Seville, Carmen's city, to shot the video... It would have been the proper thing 😊.
    I love this universal habanera, i liked very much the cover and i loved to listen it in your final tune ...
    You don't know how i would love to see you reacting to some flamenco guitar player.
    I just was finishing the long yesterday's episode with Richie Kotzen and did a pause to watch the new reaction, so Justin interrupting Justin 😂

    He's Brilliant.Blew Cowell & Pals away a few years back when He went on AGT.Alex Misko is another of similar ilk only He uses Banjo machineheads too & alters tuning alot while playing.The Whack a Gat style came out of the early 70's from innovative players like Michael Hedges, Don Ross & Vicki Genfan but these kids now are fearlessly top knockin & Rockin' like none before.

    These artists are like the Malmsteen shredders of present day.. Playing like no one, while saying absolutely nothing as song writers.
    Thing is, I applaud that. IMO there's room for it all and it’s extremely important to keep the spirit of technical instrumental mastery alive. It most definitely has its place, and at the dawn of AI I'm just sincerely appreciative and respectful that some are still taking the time to learn and master physical instruments at a higher technical level than ever before.. There's just no denying it's bonkers talented.

    I believe the second guitar is referred to as a semi-acoustic? An electric guitar with a hollowed body. He reminds me of Mike Dawes

    One can either be gracious in accepting the exceptional savant-like talents of gifted musicians as unattainable or sulk in perpetual jealousy and gloom. My propensity for harbouring personal inadequacies on guitar, justifies my subscription for the latter.

    This amazing young man, pronounced Marchin btw, blew me away with his Kashmir on one guitar a few years ago. My other favourite guitarist is Ichiko Nito, a completely different style and absolutely beautiful. Imagine my joy at seeing them collaborate on Just the Two of us. You really should check them both out a little bit more. I'm not really too keen on much of the music you cover but I absolutely love watching you and your take on the world today. 👍💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #TheSoundofFreedom #Godschildrenarenotforsale

    3:06 Marcin | ARTISTS | Ibanez guitars
    For Marcin's innovative percussive fingerstyle he prefers Ibanez's flagship AE900-NT from the AE-Series which allows him to combine extensive percussive elements with the standard way of playing the guitar.

    Brings back memories of Andy McKee
    The OG YT guitar player doing such things.
    Back when YT was new, and no one really knew what to do with it. Before people did it on a professional level. With layers, and pro set ups. He just had one guitar a microphone and a insane talent.
    He was one of the first doing insane stuff with guitars.
    To me, he will always be where it all began.

    About 4:23 Justin’s “woOooo” sounded like Dan’s Celine Dion Karaoke! I think I saw clips of this man on Americas Got Talent. Don’t know who won but I think if this young man did it’d definitely be in the info about him. I don’t know who or what could beat this. I’ve only seen one ending of that show and the wrong person won in my opinion. I don’t know if ppl call in and vote or what. But this man is amazing!

    He completed his training with Maestro Pinana. He learned to play Spanish Flamenco style with the best guitarists in Spain. He is truly a magnificent guitarist. I wish Paco de Lucía could see this.
