Rick Allen was 18 when he joined on drums. He is 20 here but lost his left arm in 1984 but came back 3 years later with a custom kit that allowed him to play with pedals connected to electric drums.
Def Leppard was formed in Sheffield UK in 1977 only about 27 miles from where I live. It's hard to believe it took until 2009 for this band to be inducted into the Rock And Roll hall of fame . Great to see you on here Mia!†Still watching as I type!!!

Subsequent to this song, in 1984, Drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident and the band refused to continue without him, so he customized his drum kit and learned to play with one arm! Amazing!

Def Leppard's 1983 album 'Pyromania' is a classic đ€đ„ It was a huge hit in America and was second only to Michael Jackson's iconic 'Thriller' album that year... MTV made Def Leppard poster boys of rock... 'Rock of ages' ... 'Photograph' ... "Foolin' " were the 3 music videos from 'Pyromania' - their 2nd album to be produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange, who had also produced mega-albums for AC/DC ('Back in black') ... Foreigner ('4') and would go on to produce Shania Twain's biggest albums (Lange and Shania were married for a while too, but they divorced)
Former guitarist Pete Willis co-wrote & played on 'Pyromania'... but he was fired after his alcoholism was affecting his playing... Phil Collen (guitar) replaced him and re-did some guitar parts for the album.
Other stellar songs from 'Pyromania' include - 'Too late for love' ... 'Rock rock (til you drop)' ... 'Stagefright'... "Comin' under fire"... đ€đ„
Because Def Leppard had pop influences in their music (They were huge Queen fans), they appealed to women in the 80's and had a huge female audience that included Taylor Swift (whose mom was a fan) and she performed w/ Def Leppard in 2008 on CMT's 'Crossroads' when she was just starting her career.

I just saw them in Seattle 2022, they've been together since 1977, they really aren't a hair metal band, their musical influences were 70's British bands, such as t Rex, Mott the Hoople, david bowie, queen and others. Their newest album in 2022 has a 70's vibe. They even had a album of covers of nothing but 70's songs, which was great. Some people only like the hard rock that they did on the first few albums they did. I decided to give their newer stuff, starting with 1996 cd called slang, it finally grew on me, and it's one of the best. Love your reactions, you do a great job

Saw them in several concerts in SoCal, so many females there, so glad you're a fan of them too.This like in song said , is album Pyromania, which top song was Photograph, then Fooling, then this! Album before, High and Dry, biggest hit was Bringing on the Heartbreak, Lady Strange, and title song...but album starts with my favorite song of them, a rocker, Let it Go. Then of course, famous in home England and USA, next album after Pyromania was 1987 Hysteria, which is one of best Rock albums ever...and made them world famous and getting to Hall of Fame decades after.

tHEY WERE ALL ABOUT BAGGIN THE CHICS & MAKING THE Doe. And they did lots of it. I dont think they had lots of respect for women, no disrespect ofcoarse but not a whole lot of respect. they just hooked up & left town basically.
