The french are always loyal to their language even when most other countries sing in English nowadays. Credit to them.
C'est vrai qu'ils ont fait "l'effort" de chanter en français (même si ils représentent la France donc c'est un peu logique). Mais en quoi c'est "loyal" à la langue française, les paroles sont vraiment faible, et le sens est bancale. Ils avaient la chance de passer un message fort mais ils l'ont loupé :(

I was so sad this did not win when Portugal was hosting. I was crossing all my fingers... Still love the tone shift from the previous winner (Portugal), but this one song deserved to win. France brought us a beuatiful song, weel executed, and with a deep and meaningful message.

Klakier no, I am against taking refugees in Poland and France was one of the countries that pushed us to do so 😂 And this song is about forcing people to take a dangerous journey to reach Europe instead of helping them in the nearest refugee centers, which would be more efficient

I'm still upset that France didn't get at least top 10. They were definitely robbed. I expected them to beat Moldova, Denmark, and Sweden for sure.I was hoping they would go far, same with Bulgaria. This song is based on a true story! A baby refugee who was born when crossing the sea from Syria to Europe. Hi's name is Mercy! He is now 1 year old in healthy boy in s Refugee shelter. I heared the song a first time and I thought "Ok, sounds good". But I listened again, and the lyrics are actually very real and hard. It left me heartbroken. It's about the immigrants that travel through the sea. All the kids that lost their lives. Parents who lost their children. Thank you, Mercy. I can be gratefull that I wasn't in such a situation. But thousands of others can't say that. They were human like you and I. And they had to pay the price of their lives, trying to reach a better future for their children. I will never forget.

If there is any country who should sing in their own language it has to be France. Don't understand a word, but looked up the story and it's beautifull, i like this.
