6233 SLOGS up Hemerdon Bank

6233 Duchess of Sutherland makes a tremendous slog up the two mile 1in42 climb at Hemerdon Bank hauling a 10 coach load. The shot is filmed from an unusual and very less filmed north side of Hemerdon, which has now become my signature trademark location.

Just to give an idea of how powerful that locomotive really is, it was being driven in the pilot valve only (approx 50% steam max) due to persistently priming in the main valve. On full capability would have walked that load.

They were very pleased not to have to get out and walk! Anyone have any idea of the engines torque. Must be substantial.
