Fun fact originally Jimmy was a one off character who was only supposed to appear this one time hence why he was kicked out at the end, but the fans loved him so much the creators made him part of Stan’s class
Also, have you noticed that some of the episodes Matt and Trey hate the most are some of the most liked while meanwhile everyone hates the Terrance and Phillip April Fools one but Matt and Trey are happy with it?
@@thatswhatshesaid2777 they were intentionally trolling with that one - delaying the anticipated reveal of Cartmans’ father another week - so you could say they love it cause it got the rise out of fans they were looking for
Lucky us.
@@Jonny5a I laughed my ass off when I saw that episode air. I mean come on, it was LITERALLY on April 1st. Anyone who didn't see something like that coming a mile off should be mad at themselves instead of Matt and Trey, lol. It was a perfect prank.
@Thats what she said! Dontr they hate the world if warcraft episode and was actually embarrassed to put it on the air and almost canceled it but it made it way to many people favorite episodes of all time and even won an emmy
Bro. Dash translates Japanese AND obscure movie references. Somebody get this man an award
And translates Kennynese
This episode proves that Timmy is the only known character who is aware that Kenny keeps dying and coming back to life, but he can't tell anyone.
So does Cartman
Cartman too, he has an episode where he says Kenny dies all the time
Kenny’s parents as well, one episode in season 3 he died after trying to stop his mother from having a brother and she had the kid and named him Kenny and said that it must be like the 30th time it’s happened. It was probably just a one off joke but still.
Not a one off joke but canonical. Due to a cult ritual every time he does he is literally "born" again via magic, he is deathless like Cthulu
@@BertoxolusThePuzzledthat was way later. They don't plan shows years in advance 😂 at the time the original episode he's talking about it was literally like 10 years before those coon and friends episodes. No way you didn't know that
The guy in the superman outfit is Superion, aka. Black Superman. He is just a guy who used to go around LA where Trey and Matt used to work doing good deeds for people. He shows up from time to time at comic-cons too. His photo was emailed to Trey as an in-office gag but he liked it so much that they hunted him down to get clearance and used his image in the show as just someone Al could look up to for being such a nice guy.
"There he is! Kill him kill him! Oh wait thats not him"
Why they gotta do kenny like that lmao
And it had to be jimbo😂
I've seen these episodes countless times, but the way you pick up on references not only that the show is making but within the show itself (from past episodes) is really impressive. A lot of the times I don't even pick up on it myself til you point it out. And along with the editing, quality reactions. Always a channel I look forward to new uploads. Coming up on 20k subs too 😁 Keep it up Dash!
Thanks for watching with me, Lucas 🙏
It means a lot, brother.
@@dash.reacts please do Insheeption episode. It is like a Inception episode of south park
i watch these uploads to check what references i missed
I agree. 'They Live' is literally one of my all time favorite movies and I didn't realize South Park was referencing that fight until years later, Dash got it on his first try 😂
@@dash.reacts Dash-sama I'm BEGGING you to do "Canada on Strike" episode I PROMISE you wont regret it! It's has my favorite Butters moment!
You pick up the smallest details and movie references you’re amazing!. I’d have never noticed the Brofloskis in church!
OMG, the Superman shirt thing was great 🤣
It was……super.
@@RabbitShirak thanks for asking!
I don’t even know why he’d wear a shirt for Christopher “Butthole” Reeves. I mean, come on.
The resemblance is uncanny lol :P
Lol. 1st Timmy was jealous of Jimmy. Then Jimmy was jealous of Christopher Reeves.
Yeah but at Jimmy was able to broker a peace between the bloods and crips
You cannot stop me Hack Man!
Reeve ReEvE REEVE!!! 😡
@@Fireglo k
I never knew that fight was from a film. You add so much to these videos mate, really great editing, well done.
Thanks, Athan!!!

Dude catches way more references than I thought there even were.
They Live!
Bro when you looked down at your Superman shirt I started DYING🤣😭
The fight scene in "They Live" is the best movie fight scene. Roddy Piper and Keith David were so physically exhausted by the end of it that it looked like they had actually been fighting.
I love this episode. For some reason, the scene where the new boy scout leader introduces the first activity as "naked pictures" then shows what would happen if the boys were to tell on him slays me.
Another day, another comment requesting Night of the Living Homeless!
Glad you caught the _They Live_ fight reference. Although admittedly, if you've ever seen _They Live_ , it's an impossible reference to miss.
Also,
Since you saw in the previous episode you uploaded that Mr. Garrison wasn't always openly gay, perhaps you would like to see the episodes where he comes out of the closet (and the ones connected to the story and introducing Mr. Slave).
1. "Cherokee Hair Tampons"
2. "4th Grade"
3. "The Simpsons Already Did It"
4. "The Death Camp of Tolerance"
Yes
Death Camp of Tolerance is GOATED!
SIMPSONS DID IT! SIMPSONS DID IT!
Watch professor chaos before Simsons though
Just want to say that it`s great how much you pay attention and put references in your videos. It really improves the quality and tells you apart from other reaction channels!
That's why I like this guy! I love that he adds the references.
Trey and Matt considered dubbing over Timmy and Jimmy’s fight with the actual audio from “They Live”! I wish they’d have done it! Would be hilarious! 😂
“You dirty motha f…”
I love these because I never knew there were so many movie references. Would never have known without you pointing it out
The fight between Jimmy and Timmy is a shot for shot re-creation of the fight between Roddy Piper and Keith David in the movie “They Live”
Thanks for letting us know something that this video went to great pains to point out.
Yeesh.
Nobody does Southpark commentary as well as you. It's a joy seeing you being amazed/disgusted/shocked and still pay attention to all these references. That's quite a feat.
The way you pick up all these subtle references is incredible
History bit: This is one of only two times you get a view into what Timmy is actually saying. "Timmy. I'm living a lie. I'm living a lie. Timmy." Also, the actual fight scene is a recreation of Roddy Piper and Keith David's fight in the movie, "They Live". (edit) Holy crap, you actually covered the parody. XD Most people who cover this episode don't mention the fight parody.
What does that line mean though? It’s kinda ominous
The way you know all these movie references and also what Kenny is saying (subtitles included) is brilliant!
matt and trey really are ahead of their time. this applies to pretty much all political parties. everyone just trying to push and force feed what they think society should be instead of actually trying to work together to come to a mutual understanding. they have perfected social commentary
I have seen this episode so many times. Had no idea the fight scene was a reference. in fairness haven’t seen they live but still, it’s a famous scene
... and I'm all outta bubblegum. - Never seen the movie but I know the line. I think. Anyway: that face when the general-type scout leader announced the new "activities". :D Had me in stitches.
The fight between Jimmy and Timmy was always my favorite. I’ve even seen side by side comparisons between this scene and that part from “They Live”. There was so much grunting and screaming it was hilarious.
I love how you sliced the fight scenes of Jimmy and Timmy with They Live. I've always wanted to see how far the similarities go, and it's hilarious how much of the same dialogue they captured.
Best moment's gotta be when Timmy gets him to wear Kenny's Coat. 5:07 LOL
The bit with putting on Kenny’s jacket making him more likely to gets killed comes from the earliest episodes where for a season or two they killed Kenny a different way every episode.
Dash thanks for always showing the references south park is using. I'm not American so most of these go over my head. I'll definitely check out some of these movies.
S11: The List
S16: Butterballs (((((first))))) Then...
... I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining
S14: You Have 0 Friends
It's A Jersey Thing
And the hobbit S17
Thanks for introducing me to "They Live." I watched the fight scene and now am quite interested in the premise.
Its a good movie in all honesty. If you like science fiction stuff.
@@minuette1752it’s science fact. Humanity is enslaved by a race of demonic aliens
I love all the references you catch and put into your reactions. It really sets your videos above the rest.
lmao when you pointed out that you were also wearing a superman shirt, that got me 😂
Dude thank you so much for reacting to this absolute classic!
Another good one is the Pinewood Derby S13 Ep6 i think.
Hope you're doing great!
...and I'm all out of bubble gum (great movie).
I started at Wolf in Cub Scouts and made it to Star in Boy Scouts before I stopped. I still have my arrow from the cross over ceremony and 2 pinewood derby cars. I know there's a bunch of horror stories, but my experience in scouts was awesome. Our troop leader retired and we got some guy that just wanted to scream at everyone; pretty much killed the troop.
I never noticed the _They Live_ parallel in the fight before bit it's so obvious now.
I really love your reactions for so many reasons but this one especially for the references... Great work Dash 😄
It looks like Jimmy and Timmy are the same mobility impaired but Jimmy is constantly pushing to overcome his impairments so he refuses to be in a wheelchair.
Really admire the way Big Gay Al handled the court's decision. He's right, freedom is a two way street. That's something I've remembered since the first time I saw this episode.
Freedom to discriminate?
Within reason? Yes.
Force only results in an equal and opposite reaction.
Freedom to discriminate. For a private institution? Absolutely.
Except the argument used is a false equivalence because trey and mat are hardcore libertarians. a corporation or institution does not and should not have the same right and liberties as an individual because they are not an individual. they essentially made an argument in favour of segregation
@@coreyrobinson8209 Of course, "discrimination" is a fairly broad term but it's our culture that should determine what is acceptable not the courts. The boys and girl scouts already discriminate based on gender, which most think is reasonable. It only causes resentment when the legal system forces inclusion.
Yo!! Your callbacks are becoming legend. Quickly becoming my favorite reaction channel!!!
I've never seen "They Live", and I'm 40 yrs old... but I've seen "skits", this and that, but.... I'm DEFINITELY WATCHING IT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to you, "Dash Reacts" 😉!!!!
Hey, just wanted to tell you, I really enjoy your south park reactions I love this show. It's really great you put all this extras in to show where the gags are from its so a nice reference, i appreciate it.
Keep up your great work.
Greetings from Germany.
A few episodes before this "Fat Camp" there was a kid that was impersonating Cartman as Kyle knew he was an imposter and he and Stan blackmailed this imposter kid to be Kenny by making him put on the parka and he ends up dying performing Kenny's stunt, so Timmy may have thought it was the parka being cursed but it was actually that other kid being at the wrong place wrong time
“…..and I’m all out of gum.” 😎
Great cutaway content on a already great thing. You make it 10 time more funny with the reaction. It is like rewatching for the first time
the photoshop picture at the end always sends me into a 5 min laughing fit
You make great reaction videos! Especially because you add the Subliminal facts. I wouldn’t have guessed that they recreate scenes from other movies or shows.
he was Jimmy Swanson back then. you can even hear him introduce himself to The Crips as Jim Swanson in season 7's Krazy Kripples. you've reacted to that one.
his last name was changed to Valmer in season 8's Up the Down Steroid that you have watched as well.
Trey and Matt made a joke out of this in Tsst when Cartman tells Jimmy they are the best friends and Jimmy asks him what his last name is.
Happy to see post a SP reaction, I love this epispde and one of my favorite fights.
Rip is in the building! 🙌
It was a funny one 😂
I appreciate the fact that you took the time to edit the scenes from '"They live'' that were being referenced. This is a bit weird, but I guess that's how this content works - I can't wait till we sit down together again and watch another episode. I just realised that in a weird and vicarious way that's how I feel. Also, at this point you might consider just watch all of south park - season by season. South park keeps a high standard throughout and with you, pal, I'll sit through those weaker episodes as well. In fact, you just did one of those - ''Volcano'
lol I just watched They Live again a couple weeks ago and was remembering how this episode nailed that fight scene so well 🤣
Imagine how strong Timmy would be with tip assist
Jimmy! Timmy! 😂 Wow what a great audience!
omg i watch SP 20+ years and i just today noticed that cripple fight actually is scene from 1988 movie:DDD
I get what South Park was doing with this. I’m an Eagle Scout and was involved in Scouting for a time afterward when I turned 18. I can tell you there was a time that Scouting did not allow gay men to be Scoutmasters, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Regarding the “naked pictures” reference, the Boy Scouts of America was (may still be I don’t know) involved in a series of lawsuits regarding sexual allegations that got covered up by leadership, but got uncovered when former scouts began coming forward. That’s the readers digest version that is.
Thank you for enlightening me on the fact that this fight is from the movie They Live! That movie is kind of special to me just cuz of the time I saw it in the circumstances behind me seeing it I'll never forget and it was a good moment and I thought the movie was supposed to be bad when we started watching and it turned out to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's too bad Rowdy Roddy Piper never became a movie star because I thought he killed it in the movie They Live.
Loved that they recreated the fight scene from They Live, just an amazing scene to begin with, but elevated by the insanity of South park ;)
For the next South Park episode, you absolutely need to watch the episode called Ass Pen. It's absolutely hilarious and it lampoons the '80s movies so well.
I don't comment, but really enjoy your reaction videos if I would even call it that. It feels more like I'm just kicking it on the couch with you watching southpark. And I enjoy that thanks for your work!
I died at the moment with superman
@Dash. This is why you're the best. I love South Park and I LOVE They Live and I never connected the fight scenes. Good stuff, bro.
12:06 pretty sure that was a reference to The Dark Knight Rises, where Bane breaks Batman's back
Lmao the headphone removal and look away lol perfect
You can't plan comedy like that black superman coincidence...
You're teaching me references i didnt even know existed.
I used to live a couple miles from the first Boy Scouts of America. In Hawthorne Florida. Doc Hollywood filmed the car crash into the fence scene in frount of it.
I love you threw in clips of the Keith David and Roddy Piper fight. They Live is a great movie.
Not gonna lie without your channel I would've never noticed all these references
5:54 was amazing 😂😂
That photo of the black guy gets me every time, I didn't know it was a young Dash Reacts LMAO
Check out the 2 parter from season 15, “You’re Getting Old” & “Assburgers”
I watched this series 3 times and only now I see all these references. Thx bro
I need to watch more movies. 😂 Also RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper.
There’s an early episode two parter where Cartman tries to find his dad.
I’d like to see you react to the season six episode “A Ladder to Heaven.”
One of the all-time classics. "Did it make you feel like crying, or did you think it was kinda gay?"
If memory serves, there was a lot of controversy about the Scouts not permitting openly gay guys to join around the time of this episode. SP always nails it with their social commentary.
You translated the Timmy Dialog... nice hahaha
Did not know the fight was from They Live! Hilarious. Been in a wheelchair for over 30 years and that fight scene is beyond funny. I laugh every time.
“What do you mean by that” 🤣🤣
I remember how brutal it was to watch this fight.
Just for dating the context around each episodes seasons
Season 5 - 2001
6 - 02
7 - 03
8- 04
9-05
10-2006
11-2007
12-2008
13-09
14-2010
15-2011
16-12
And onward. Just for the cultural zeitgeist at the time to be aware of. So like here this was early 2000s just at the wake of 9/11. And where disabilities and homosexuality were more hot button.
2:02 Jimmy can't have been _Plan B_ 'cause he actually got born.
BA-DA BA-BA-DA-BA!~
Now we know why Kenny keeps dying
That jacket is a death magnet
A little late here... Matt & Trey actually used the fight sounds from They Live as the temp soundtrack for this fight.
One of the few South Park episodes with a really crappy message - "freedom is a two-way street, gay people should be free to express themselves, and organisations should be free to discriminate against people based on their sexuality". A surprisingly huge miss, considering how good the message of most episodes (that have a messaage) usually is.
I'm gonna re-suggest Broadway Bro Down, cause I haven't suggested anything for a few episodes =P
I’m so happy you got the “They Live” reference lol
Finally someone that gets the They Live reference.
"And I'm out of bubble gum ."
They live!!
Best fight ever.
I love Keith David.
I was so pissed that evil lyn shot him.
RIP Hot Rod.
Hi this is the first time comment in your videos. I've been subscried in your channel for a couple of months but I just wanted to say that I like your reactions. I hardly paid attention to the references of movies or shows from each episode and the easter eggs on the background. It's really cool to see you finding out and showing it to us which makes your content very enjoyable and original compare to other reactors.
Greetings from Costa Rica, Pura Vida Dash!!!
Hey, Antoni! Thanks for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it.
I was in the boy scouts till senior scouts in my country, i'm ranked at the highest in our outfit, eagle scout. I can tell you, so many openly gay dudes in the scouts but most of them are extremely manly. in obstacle courses, they would be the first to crawl the mud. when in command, they shout like a rugged drill sergeant. honestly, i'm not comfortable with gay men and the propaganda the lgbtq keeps pushing into young people and wanting more advantageous rights than male and females but when they stand beside you in a military outfit be it commanding squads or being commanded as part of a squad, you can sure trust them wholeheartedly because they at that moment, they just simply represent strict discipline and i respect that
Please check out s11 e13 Guitar Queer-o, I love it. It’s my Comfort episode
12:56 this speech is ahead of its time.
I love your channel.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. I can't wait for you to do the Memberberries saga!
Member Chewbacca?!?!
I had no idea that the cripple fight was parodying another fight from a movie... Probably because I hadn't seen that movie.
5:14 well, it’s official: Kenny’s Orange Jacket is cursed
in cub scouts it goes Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and then you have Webelos (I forget the spelling)
I also recommend “Put it Down” it’s another Tweek and Craig episode. One of my favorites
