There is nothing that quite gives me as much joy as Eddie doing a Charlie Murphy impression.
I love it and wish he would give us a stand up special about just him & his brother!!! I swear I would watch

Rick James telling Rick James stories.
Rick saying he didn't do anything to the couch then literally the next sentence saying he did 🤣🤣

It so subtle in his delivery.
Eddie Murphy needs to get back on stage, and tell us stories about his brother. The world needs this.
Aint it crazy how he probably just looks at those stories as “silly encounters with his brother” but we’d probably deem that shit as legendary?! Lol I love the Murphy brothers so much! I second this comment
Facts! He should tell his version of him and Charlie messing up Rick's legs! Lol!
He’s probably not thinking in that light because they are brothers. He may not want to share all that, it’s logical especially since his passing. He’s not obligated.
@@ragantate3995 you my man, are a 1000% correct.
He should write a book!
Eddie Murphy retelling the Prince Story in his own words and adding more information is the BEST confirmation ever! Relive in Peace, Charlie Murphy!
Shirts vs Blouses...
still brings tears to my eyes in laughter.
Serve them pancakes and them call them bitches😂😂
The funny thing about Eddie Murphy, he’s always been a soft spoken person but he breaks into his characters full fledge like no other, he always snaps. Eddie is a legend.
The Prince basketball story is literally the greatest story ever told. Everyone that told it, always have the same story, somewhat verbatim.
That's how you know it's true🤗😇
The fact that Prince turned around and used Dave's pic for his album cover was just the best cherry on top 😂
"He had on a waistlet" lol

That's a Grateful Dead song btw 💙❤🎅🏿
This Prince basketball story gets better/funnier with every explanation, from Charlie to Micki to Eddie all adding to the legend lol.

I love when he impersonates Charlie. ‘Yeah, we got shirts Vs. blouses.....’” 🤣🤣🤣 There’s no impression he does better.
This man is a comedic icon. I grew up on his SNL sketches, Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, CILL my landlord, Gumby, Ali impressions, all of it. He's a living legend, and the fact that he stays out of the spotlight and just minds his business, I love that! Coolest cat, ever.
The respect he has for Muhammad Ali is heartwarming.
And for Richard Pryor. Richard saw Eddie as a threat when Eddie was coming up and you will hear Eddie say a negative thing about Richard.
Yes
@@TA-ht4jo "Tell Bill Cosby to have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up." Does not sound like Richard Pryor saw Eddie Murphy as a threat, rather an up and coming comic that he gave encouragement to.
Yes. He's a hero of mine. But Eddie Murphy's reverence moved me greatly.
He nailed Richard Pryor's laugh, I've watched him laugh just like that in bloopers for his movies. Eddie is awesome.
His Richard Pryor impression all around is pretty legendary lol #Love ✊🏼
Eddie Murphy is my favourite comedian ever I remember being to act out all the scenes from Delirious and Raw along with Eddie from beginning to end and thinking I was really cool 😂😁😂😁😂
He nailed his brothers voice unbelievable man I miss Charlie
Was he on drugs then?
He should portray him in a movie
You can feel the essence of Charlie through Eddie. Even wearing the goatee like Charlie. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing that kind of love and bond between two brothers. RIP Charlie

he studied from charlie. there wouldn't be a eddie without charlie
I agree.
Eddie talking like anyone is amazing. No matter who's voice he does, you can close your eyes & see the person. He credits genius, but he's one himself.
I’ve been saying for a while that should just be his stand-up routine. He should do a netflix special of just him on stage telling stories of his career in his naturally humorous way. Anyone would pay to see that.
Dangerfield impression was funny
I'm convinced that Eddie has countless impressions in his repertoire that we've never heard... he really captured the essence of Rodney.
He's also understating how much he has been around legendary people... has anyone seen the Jim Jefferies special where he talks about how he was hired to perform at a private party for some random big shot, and all these big stars were there, including Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Eddie?
I've never associated Eddie with any of those guys - he doesn't really go out of his way to name-drop - but he has probably met just about everyone over the years, in entertainment at least.
Eddie Murphy's background looks like he's hinting at a Vampire in Brooklyn sequel lol
A classic movie that no one talks about!

Eddie's impressions are spot on. Even his Charlie Murphy impressions!
His Rodney Dangerfield is soooooo good!
Well duh...
He didn't do impressions of his greatest heroes though...
Charlie is his brother who he grew up with. They have the same patterns of speech. All he had to do to sound like him is talk slower with a deeper voice. For Charlie to sound like Eddie, he would just have to talk faster with a higher voice
I always forget how great of an impressionist he really is. To be so talented and it seems like he rarely uses it unless people ask for it.
The prince basketball story just gets better and better. Each with their own hilarious take on it. Even Prince got in on it by putting Chapelle on the cover of 'breakfast can wait' in his purple outfit from the skit, serving pancakes.... :-)
🤣
The fact that Eddie can laugh at losing to a man wearing a waistlet is golden 🤣
In Prince's voice: "Do y'all wanna play some basketball?"
Eddie Murphy: "WTF?"

If there is one story I wish I was a part of was the Prince story with Charlie Murphy. Dave Chappelle executed it so well that I feel like I've missed the essence of life.
The Prince story is one of the funniest stories ever, and sheesh Eddie is spot on imitating his brother.... in which I know he would.
I love finding out it wasn't exaggerated. Makes the story even better.
Yes his Charlie is impeccable!
That and the Rick James story is the greatest skit of all time. Undisputable.
I never knew that Charlie Murphy was just as funny as Eddie is until I watched Dave Chappelle. He was a great storyteller and had me cracking up
Great storyteller and very funny, but nowhere near as funny as Eddie. Charlie would be the first to admit it.
what? lol c'mon now. that's a huuuge stretch of the imagination. Charlie was not just as funny as Eddie Murphy and Chappelle Show was funny but also were a lot of parts that were just silly. Everybody wanna act like Chappelle Show was all that. It was a funny lil skit show in a time where there was not much funny sh*t on tv but c'mon now. Charlie wasn't even the funniest on Chappelle Show. You shld go back and watch some of Eddie Murphy's catalogue. Charlie was about as funny as a normal cool black person with a sense of humor. Eddie is something completly else, man. I love Charlie but no way, man. not even close.
I know he was funny in Boondocks and lottery ticket

This is almost the funniest story of all time. That was the time Michael Jackson met Prince at concert, and Prince played bass in his face.
And Michael was all shook about it, like omg he playedd his bass directly in my face...called him meanie.
Eddie's impression of his dearly departed brother Charlie, and Rodney Dangerfield, are amazing.. nice to finally hear Eddie tell that story, what a life he's had. Eddie, write an autobiography!
The "shirts v. the blouses" story just keeps getting funnier every time it's told.
I was thinking that too! The “waistlet” 🤣
And it was real wow the memories of different eras and people are mind blowing take care

Im a comic. U have to be one of us to understand Eddie said he was 17 performing in miami. Hes from ny. To be booked period at 17. To be doing comedy period at 17. To be booked 1500 miles from home at 17. To accomplish these at any age for a comic is big
Good commentary. Eddie was a very rare case. He KNEW where he was gonna go and got there. In the old days, it was never his material, it was his confidence and stage presence. He was different. He had an air about him that he already made it. Thats why the comparisons to Pryor are wrong. The only similarity is they both curse. Pryor was much more vulnerable. Eddie had the leather, cockiness, and swag which was new to stand up comedy.
Him and Chapelle both did it in their teens and early 20s.
Bill Hicks was 15 when he started.
Sorry, but you don’t have to be a comedien to understand. anybody who been around excellence in any field understands.
