    Your heart valves sounded good.

For those wondering what type of mic to use, I was able to pull this off with a lapel/clip-on mic (or a Lavalier mic if you wanna be fancy about it). They're fairly cheap and easy to find online. You can connect them to a traditional mic pack, but there are also some that can be used with your phone.

I can only assume the three downvotes were from mouth-breathers disappointed by the lack of naked women, robots, and explosions.
That was very informative. I am interested in making recordings of my pets breathing and heartbeats as metrics of comparision as they age, so that I can detect problems that require medical care. Thank you Anatoly.

Thank you SO MUCH for this video, it really helped me a lot!
I've just managed to record my heartbeat with my new "DIY electronic stethoscope" (same mic, but I decided to use a pro stethoscope) and the final result is phenomenal!
Now I can finally use the heartbeat samples in my horror soundtracks XD

I paid 2 dollars and 97 cents (with shipping). If you pay more for a pro version (for example, Littmann), you pay the same 3 dollars for the thing itself (which was invented 200 years ago) and another 100-300 dollars for its name.

I have created a DIY electronic stethoscope using the chest piece and connecting it to condenser mic over the tube. While I am able to hear all outside sound , I am not able to hear any body sound at all (heart/lungs) . The same chest piece when connected to tube of stethoscope works well . I am using audacity software for recording. I would appreciate any suggestions for resolving this . Thanks

Maybe the microphone is not sensitive to low frequencies. Or maybe the connecting tube to the microphone needs to be a different length, shorter or longer.

      www.ebay.com/itm/Audio-Technica-ATR-3350i-Omnidirectional-Condenser-Lavalier-Microphone-/331692799582?hash=item4d3a6e765e:g:czkAAOSwYHxWL43~.
      www.ebay.com/itm/5-pcs-6-5mm-52D-Sensitivity-Capacitive-Electret-Microphone-NEW-/142082279151?hash=item2114c386ef:g:HM0AAOSw0UdXrEyC.
