I loved it! I have Autism, social anxiety, etc. as well but I could never see myself being up on stage like this. I'm assuming the humor helps you to deal with some of that. I can't wait to see more of your magic in the future!

it isn't your fault, it's the producer's fault. Too many cut aways to the audience and to Brooke, and it takes away from your performance. It ruins the rhythm. And the entire presentation. I hate when they cut away. We don't need to see Brooke's reaction. We don't need to see the audience's reaction. We only need to see one thing, and that's the act.
They do that so edits can occur. They cannot show the act linearally. WHY there need to be edits can be for many reasons. Dont forget its TV not reality.

I thought the editing was extremely choppy and distracting. Very poorly done. The entire flow of the act was ruined by poor editing. I would like to see this guy get another act on the show - and be treated better.
Uhh but Penn and Teller weren’t watching it with any cuts. So, I think they probably still weren’t fooled 😂😂😂

Agreed. I assume they usually use cuts to help sell the trick to the TV audience but this one seems poorly done.

Though it was long ago in the 1980s when I lived in Denmark for a few years, I remember still that Danish humor runs a course a bit different than American. The guy is from Denmark for sure.

Ducks in Danish is "ænder" which also sounds like "n-er" (multiple Ns). His name is Mortenn with two Ns (in DK it's usually spelled with only 1 N), hence his joke is he is Morten with two Ns (Morten with two ducks in Danish).
In Danish, "ænder" (ducks) rhymes with "hænder" (hands).
The joke is about saying "I'm having two ducks (aender)... Oh, I mean two hands (haender)!

That bit at the beginning reminds me that you used to be able to get candy bubble soap that was non-toxic. I used to go to punk rock shows blow a few bubbles and then guzzle the rest of the bottle much to the amusement of the crowd. Now they only have stuff that smells like candy but will make you puke your guts out of you drink any of it!

It's a pun so it doesn't translate well. In Danish, "ducks" in plural is the same as multiple N's (the letter). He has to N's in his name and carries two Ducks on stage. It's the same joke Penn unknowingly makes

That was a brilliant act, Dougal... I mean Mortenn. There was a slight awkwardness in the audience's response to you, and that was because, after watching your intro, they expected you to be a bit simple. And you weren't a bit simple. In fact you were a bit over their heads, humour wise. So they weren't quite sure how to take you, but they had almost caught up with you by the time you were finishing your act.

Great job! Believe it or not some acts are too cringie to watch for they're so obvious. Not saying I know how you did yours but it was great entertainment and great at the jokes. Need to be a comedian.

TV magic. The host wears the same outfit the entire season for filming/editing reasons
The host and Penn & Teller always wear the same outfit, so the performances that are filmed on different days can be put together into the same episode.
They film based on logistics of the set, rather than what goes nicely together in an episode. So if the host changed dress on different days, it would mess up the continuity of each episode. Each episode is made up of acts that were actually performed on different days.
As I understand it, they film all the acts for the season over a couple of weeks in the summer. Then they put together the episodes so there's at least one fooler per episode, but not too many, etc.
