Thanks for watching Fam! xoxo - Zábava
A lot of people these days throw around the word 'Masterpiece' but this is one work of art that truly is deserving of that word.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung by a beautiful and sensitive artist, about another beautiful and sensitive artist. My fave line that always gives me chills is "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you" 😢
Agreed!! ❤️👍
I battle with depression and I think people would listen finally when I’m gone, sad how that is 😢
Mo, this song has made me cry every time I've ever heard it and it made me cry this time, too. The song came out when I was 7 and even then, as a little girl, I felt all the pain Don McLean infused into this portrait of Vincent Van Gogh. It also made me very curious about Van Gogh, so I looked him up in our set of encyclopedias and checked out books about him when I was older. Thank you for reacting to this song. Another very famous song of Don McLean's is American Pie. It's long, but well worth a listen!
American Pie is a real slice of history from the sixty's
I’m not crying you’re crying…
Vicent is Vicent Van Gogh the world famous painted who killed himself. His painting "Starry Night" is the most valued painting in the world second only to the "Mona Lisa".
It has come to light that two young pre teens were teasing and mocking Vincent and they had a gun that fatally wounded him. Vincent decided not to ruin their young and hopeful life’s by telling on them. He bore the shame of taking his own life to protect the boys. Respect.
A song about Vincent Van Gogh and Depression expressed beautifully! 💙🎶🎶🎶🎶
This has to be one of the most criminally underrated absolutely beautiful songs ever composed.
There are few songs that move me everytime I hear them ( Beatles "she's leaving home" comes to mind but not much else)
I remember when this song was on the radio and I was too young then to pay attention and appreciate it..
Damn....just damn
The back story makes this song epic...If you are looking at the painting while he sings it you will get it...
I absolutely love that you picked this song, it's one of my most favorite ever. So beautiful. It's about Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most famous painters in history but someone who wasn't appreciated until after his death (by suicide). The lyrics describe various paintings of his - Starry Night is one of his most famous.
American Pie is Don Maclean's most iconic song, it's basically a long poem describing the music industry for a decade after a tragic plane crash killed 3 popular music artists.
Great reaction as always!
Not just paintings of his but incidents in his life as well..
The silver thorn; (knife) a bloody rose (bleeding ear) lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
From when he cut of his ear obviously..
Vincent is my favorite Don McLean song, while everyone else's is probably American Pie, which is an amazing song. But this just feels more vulnerable, honest and personal.
I think mine also is probably American pie🙈
No, this one's my favorite too. I get sick of American Pie.
Hello, Morenikeji. I love seeing your smiling face and watching your reactions as always. The song is about the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, who suffered with mental illness and even cut off one of his ears to prove his love to a woman. Starry Night is the name of one of his paintings. He had no fame in his lifetime, and committed suicide. Now his paintings are worth a fortune. Love and hugs, baby girl.
Omg🥹💔
One of the greatest songs ever written. What an artist.
This song is about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. He was really tortured with mental illness
So sad😞
I've always enjoyed this song. The story of the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh. He was very misunderstood and all so tragic. There is a punk version of this song and it's great. Of course the original will always be the best. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
As sad as it is beautiful. This song never fails to touch the listener. Stay safe Mo
You don't need to see the pictures because his words do the painting for you. One of the deepest and most beautiful songs ever written.
Love this lady she is so humble beautiful soul 😊
Great great song but just another great song in what was the greatest year for music... 1971
Beautiful song. It's about Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.
Hey favourite baby girl, as others have pointed out it’s about Vincent Van Gogh who was a tortured genius. If you listen to the lyrics he’s not only singing about the artist’s life but describing his more famous paintings. Beautiful song. Check out American Pie by the same singer with similarly enigmatic lyrics.
This is certainly one of my favorite songs ever. Don is an especially gifted writer and guitar player. The British show Doctor Who did an episode called "Vincent and The Doctor". Doctor Who travelled back in time to Vincent's time. At the end the Doctor takes Vincent to the present day and shows him how he is now considered to be one of the greatest artists ever. It is incredibly moving when an art expert is asked by the Doctor about Vincent Van Gogh and without knowing it is Vincent standing there, and explains how important Vincent was in art. I heard this song in my head the whole show.
This song is about Vincent Van gogh and his artwork starry starry nights is his famous painting he is singing about
A superbly written and heart-wrenching song. There is another video that shows Van Gogh's work with the song and is especially poignant.
Hope you enjoyed it Mo. Jim Croce is another great song writer, taken from us way too soon.
A tribute to Vincent Van Gogh... his paintings had that special, magical "something" that couldn't be put into words. Thank God for his brother who kept the paintings long after Vincent died...
Beautiful song - it’s about Vincent Van Gogh, the painter (Starry Night is one of his famous paintings).
Ooh I see🥹
He kept mentioning starry starry nights in the lyrics. Wow👏
Beautiful song. So sad but so beautiful. It's about Vincent van gogh. Starry starry night is a painting by him.
Everyone needs a hug after this song
Don McLean was and is an iconic wordsmith with his songs. American Pie is perhaps his most famous song about the history of rock and roll in America during the 1960's, although written rather cryptically. Empty Chairs is another beautiful song, my personal favorite though is Castles in the Air. He was a very calming performer. Thank you for this reaction.
💯💯💯 “calmly performer”👏
The song is about Vincent Van Gogh.
Don McLean had a beautiful heart ❤️
Such a beautiful poetic ballad that hits so hard.
True🥹
Don did more to promote Van Gogh and art in general with this one song, than most could do in a lifetime....just a genius work, very bold to take this one and make it a timeless song, yet so personal. He also wrote funny stuff like "Everybody Love Me Baby."
Killing me softly with his song by Roberta Flack is about Don McLean
Hello beautiful baby girl.
Vincent van Gogh from the Netherlands my country fellow man.
Don McLean has written manny beautiful songs like: And I love you so, Crossroads, Empty Chairs etc etc etc.
Love you Leon ❤️❤️🥰🥰
What’s your thought on American Pie?
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Hello beautiful baby girl. Mine thoughts on American Pie from Don McClean.
Al these years people wondering what the song is all about!
The most common explaining is " The Day the Music Died" is the tragic death of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson a.k.a The Big Bopper.
They all died in a plane accident.
Love you baby girl 💗💗♥️♥️
Leon.
If You ever get to the Van Gough museum in Amsterdam or the Werner Grouller (maybe sic) near Appeldorn (also Holland) and see his paintings in person, you will even appreciate this song more.
First time hearing him? Wow! You really need to do "American Pie." "Dreydel" and "And I Love Her So" would also be great ones for you to hear. I am currently learning to play his song "Empty Chairs," which inspired the song "Killing Me Softly with His Song."
I am sure that someone has mentioned this, but the song is in honor of the artist Vincent Van Gogh.
Vincent van Gogh great artist 🖌️🎨
There is a great movie call LUST FOR LIFE about VanGogh's life starring Kirk Douglas....EXCELLENT MOVIE....and you will learn all about him and before he started painting at 27....he was a preacher in a coal mining camp. P
Vincent Van Gogh
Don McLean a great singer songwriter.
I agree💯
If you want to know about Vincent Van Gogh, there is a superb movie starring Kirk Douglas entitled, "Lust for Life." It tells his story beautifully and is full of his paintings.
He never made a penny for any of his paintings when he was alive, today there are over 850 of his paintings that still survive, with an estimated value well over a billion dollars. No other artist comes close.
TRUST ME On This Beautiful Song Mo,, New Radicals "Someday We'll Know"..A MUST HEAR!!
If I may also recommend, a very sweet song like this: Starry Starry Night played by the legendary guitar virtuoso Chet Atkins. I could listen to it on repeat.
There is an amazing scene in the TV show doctor who. Look up Vicent van gogh louvre scene. It's only 2 or 3 minutes long, but it's very powerful. We'll worth reacting to aswell.
He is a poet song writer ! Thanks Baby Girl for all the joy you have given all of us ! 😻
Haha, you’re so nice!💗
A troubadour
Ps. Never stop smiling. You are so beautiful
Thank you 🙏
Don't forget to have sister with you as your guest sometime , she is adorable.
Sure😄
I saw Willem Dafoe's portrayal of Vincent van Gogh in "At Eternity's Gate". In March 2023 I was at the Musée d'Orsay (Paris, France) to see Starry Night Over the Rhone. I should have played this song on my MP3 player. I rented the headphones... Big mistake. 😔
Artists that don't get famous until they're dead is what this song is all about. Starry starry night is one of the best paintings of all time. Vincent van Gogh.
🥺
Don McClean wrote/ performed the song to celebrate the life of Vincent Van Gogh - one of the most influential painters around the turn of the Centurey (1800s/ 1900s). He was Dutch but travelled around Europe and ending up in France (I believe). Apparently he had mental health issues from young which later took hold of his life. I understand only sold one of his painting during his life time and thus always lived in poverty. One day, the frustration of life let him to cut his own year off and took his own life before 40. One of the features of Van Gogh's paintings is imposing some kind of "star pattern" in his final coat, Hence "Starry Starrry Night."
Shalom little lady
No modern song can ever express the raw emotion that Don McLean gives in Vincent. As you noted, my favourite baby girl, there is no autotune and no fakery - only a singer and his guitar - to bring his audience to tears over how this now famous painter was disregarded during his very brief lifetime. To me, despite the fame of his biggest hit, American Pie, this is McLean's finest work. He stirs our deep emotions at the pain this man endured during his lifetime, yet he is now regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time. The song is both beautiful and sad at the same time.
On a side note, the UK TV show Doctor Who produced an episode where the time travelling 'doctor' brings Vincent van Gogh to the future to attend an exhibit of his work. He gets to listen to a famed art critic describe his work as some of the greatest ever done. Before returning to his own time and sad fate, van Gogh does get to know that he will be appreciated for what he had created. Honestly, it's a beautiful moment in television history. Who wouldn't want to know that they made a happy difference in someone's life?
Overall, Vincent is a musical masterpiece and one of the reasons Don McLean is remembered as fondly for his music. It's an emotional and beautiful tribute to a very misunderstood and unappreciated man.
Perhaps Vincent was saner than any of us🤗💕
This is his most beautiful song, his most famous song would be American Pie, which is equally meaningful and honestly just as well written. You should check it out
The Dr. Who episode about Vincent Van Gogh is one of my all-time favourites. There's a very moving tribute video you can find on CZcams with this song by Don McLean combined with clips from the episode.
A special special talent is Don Maclean- does not get more moving and emotional than this. A truly great great artist.
The name of the painting by Vincent Can Gogh is called, as the first line goes "Starry Starry Night paint your pellet blue and gray" is tgec1st line, but the audiences applauded over that line.
Great song.
"Killin' Me Softly With His Song" is about Lori Lieberman's reaction to hearing Don McLean perform this song. The Fugees did a great version but Roberta Flack recorded the most famous version.
Actually it was the song empty chairs
Thanks, More! yes, this is my favorite by Don.. it is a tribute to painter Vincent van Gogh.. you probably have seen some of his famous works, but not everyone knows how he "suffered for his sanity".. and that he eventually took his own life.. .his beautiful works live on.. including the most famous "Starry Night"... appreciate your reaction...
The song talk about the Nederland ´s painter Vincente Van Gogh....
As always, appreciate your authentic reaction to poignant songs. Don McLean is a true poet whose beautiful lyrics are set to amazing melodies. His double album "Solo" set is amazing, with many powerful songs. "Castles in the Air", "Empty Chairs" and "Homeless Brother" are my favorites.
ThNk you so much.🙏
About Vincent Van Gogh. It is a sad story. Worth some research.
Hi baby girl 💖
Vincent made a series of beautiful paintings of the wheat field that he died in. Although he is very famous now, most of that fame came from a film about him called Lust for Life from the 1950's starring the great Kirk Douglas. It's worth checking out!
It's nice to hear music that doesn't suck
Hey, excellent choice. I truly appreciate this sentimental classic . You have done my heart well with this one. Hopefully you will enjoy this great song also my dear. Thanks.
Amazing that you said "soft-spoken / soft-singing" in reference to Don McLean's voice because the fabulous Roberta Flack recorded the gorgeous "killing me softly with his song", which was written about Don McLean! Love your videos!
The famous artist...Vincent Van Gogh from the late 1800's
So beautiful a song.
The title of the song is "Starry, starry night" Don MccLean done a number of songs about real people, this one was one of the 2 major hits he had in the UK
Which one’s his number one?
Ooh the title is starry starry night and not Vincent?😀
@@MorenikejiTaiwo You got it
Mo, you are great. Your face expressed the song's sentiment.
Very beautiful song, Baby!
I fell in love with this song when I was in third grade. It touched my heart so much.
Beautiful!
Vincent Van Gogh’s last words were “The Sadness Will Last Forever” (“La tristesse durera Toujours”).
Sincere reaction.
Great reaction, Mo. Just think about how famous an artist Vincent Van Gogh is now. Hard to believe that he never sold any paintings during his short lifetime.
He never sold any of his paintings?
@@MorenikejiTaiwo only one! For a sister of a friend.
It is truly amazing to hear this portrait made of words. What perfect poetry! The delivery (singing) is superb. The simple tune fits the words and feelings. I can listen to this song over and over without tiring. It's that good. I cannot think of another song I can do that with.
Nice song 🔥
At last someone has reacted to this classic, and very pleased it was you.
☺️. I think there are other reactions to it as well.
Thanks a lot🙏☺️
What a beautiful song, and your reaction is so pure! ❤
There is nothing you can ever do to make God love you more than He does right now. To be happy, avoid sin and follow the teachings of Scripture.
Vicent is Vicent Van Gogh the world famous painter who killed himself. His painting "Starry Night" is the most valued painting in the world second only to the "Mona Lisa".
American Pie from 1972 is Dons biggest song
His cover version of Roy Orbinson's Crying is fantastic also.
Don McLean's song 'Empty Chairs' will really hit you in the feels! 😭😭😭
Gets me every time 😪

Not a lip-sync to the record. Nice take.
Great live performance, awesome song , notice that music back then nothing was rushed.
You should check out Five for Fighting's "100 years" A beautiful song about the stages of life we all go through. You can relate to it at whatever stage in your life you are.
I got to say I love your hair.
Hello there Baby Girl! I missed you while I was away! Don Mclean's "Vincent" is a soulful song, and your beautiful facial reactions, as always, were very soulful!! Thank you!!
This was an honest reaction Mo this song makes me so sad but then I see you smile and I forget all about the sadness thanks Mo , ps your Hair looks so good everyday ❤🇨🇦
💗💗💗
Hi, Mo. I had planned on suggesting this very song plus 'Castles in the Air' would make good reaction videos, but you beat me to it. Loved your reaction especially as you picked up straight away on Vincent's passing (some people hear the song but don't actually listen to it). Thanks for sharing 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aww. Thanks a lot.🙏💗
Vincent never sold a painting while he was alive....hence the line..."portraits hung in empty halls...." and today they go for $50 million at auction. He was insane and spent a year in an institution. in one fit of insanity he burned a large pile of his paintings...hundreds of millions of dollars.... Starry Night was his most famous painting. the descriptions in the song are of his paintings. he only painted from age 27-37 when he shot himself.
🙁🙁😔😔
Vincent Van Gough the artist ......
Love this one too. Yes, it is long been believed; Vincent Van Gogh committed suicide.
