Thank you for bringing back this music from 50 years ago; timeless classics for another generation to enjoy…
Thank you 🙏
Parabéns pelo canal. Estou maratonando ele aqui
Two songs that were played often while growing up. I was lucky to be alive at that time.
I grew up with Bread, it was popular when I was young. I later learned that "Everything I Own" was a song about his father who had died. As I lost my own father 30 years ago, this song really resonates with me. But truthfully, I love everything by Bread!
🥹❤️
My mother just passed away on November 11 so I heard this song with new ears. Beautiful.
Best song. 2024 from Brazil
I grew up with this song, in high school in the 70's. It really took on new meaning when my son passed away in 2001. This song is for all the loved one's we've lost! Loved your reaction!
So sorry🥹
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Thank you.
The greatest era in folk music and songwriting.
Hi sweet family. I didn’t mean to be away for this long. It’s just been a couple of things going on behind the scenes.
Hoping things get sorted out soon and I can get back to being here more often. Till then, your girl is thankful for the love and support.🙏🥰
No problem Mo. Your YT family understand how life has a way of getting in the way. BTW, you look sensational🥰 Rick
No worries, Mo. Stuff happens in everybody's life and you just have to prioritise getting different things sorted first. Glad to have you back 😇
As long as you are good, we're good.
Glad you're back Mo. We missed our baby girl.
Quality over quantity is why I like your channel.
Bread wrote and recorded some of the most beautiful love songs ever. These are probably their best two.
While I think songs are open to interpretation, it was revealed that “Everything I own” wasn’t written as a traditional love song. It’s actually a song dedicated to his Father after he passed away.
I didn’t realize this until I researched it myself. Coincidentally enough, it was one of the songs my dad and I would listen to together when I was growing up. Now that he’s passed, this song just hits that much more closer to the heart.
It’s a beautiful song and even more beautiful when you put yourself in the shoes of a son crying and longing for a loved father that has passed.
One of the prettiest tunes ever written. Thank you for your great reaction.
It really is!
Bread was a great band. "IF" was and still is one of my favorite songs
they have several , it's hard for me to pick my favorite
@@bryandamkaer3646 Same for me. " If " was the first record I bought when I was 13 yo (50 years ago ) and then I listened to their others songs ..True : it's heard to pick a favorite one. Baby I'm- a-want-you and Guitar man are also very beautiful. My heart melts when I listen to Bread.
@@arwen450 true. From this two, I can say that their songs are heart-melting and so soothing to the ears.❤️
This is a love song written to his late father.
so heartfelt.❤️
Reminds me of in the living years by Mike and Mechanics
Takes me back too being a child hearing these records in the back seat in my fathers car playing on the radio
These guys made songs that made you really think about what is important in your life and sometimes broke your heart. 😢
Bread has a lot of beautiful songs . So happy I was a teen in those years. These are the kind of songs we listened to every day. After 50 years I still know the lyrics by heart because we played and replayed Bread's songs over and over..Greetings from Belgium.
Yeah, you’re right about that man I still remember every lyric just don’t make music like this anymore. Such a shame for this generation.
@@FUBAR1986 Well, I have to say that in Flanders we still have some new singers or bands who sing poetic songs. Brel (already passed away), Stromae, Breg and Tamino who is Belgian with Egyptian roots are famous and have beautiful songs. If you listen to Tamino's song Habibi ( which means : my darling). I think you might like it, But it is true , our generation had the best music in the 70s. My daughter and grandsons, 13 and 15 years old do listen to CCR, Bread, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and so on. So, the 70s music will never die. Greetings from Flanders in Belgium. Carine (nickname Arwen)
Love the "two-fer" reaction.
I can see in your face that you connected with this band. This was on the radio all the time decades before you were born. So nice that you can appreciate good music.
Good musics are evergreen.❤️
Thank you☺️
Bread was very popular during my early teens. They were the masters of the ballad. I blame them for turning me into a hopeless romantic.
David Gates wrote some brilliant songs. Very underrated. IF is my favourite love song.
"If" was our wedding song in 1977. Beautiful song!
(imho) Everything I Own is one of the most perfect songs ever put to tape and is my favorite Bread song. Followed closely by "If'. Few songs words, melody and music bed fit so perfectly together, Thank you for reacting to these 2 All Time classics. I love your reactions (as always) Best of all, we got two Mo's for the price of one!! What a great bargain!! Take care Hun. Your friend, RNB
I agree with you on your choices as well.🙂
Thank you for your kind words.☺️
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Your very welcome Morenikeji. Have a great week, Rick
I can't hear "IF" without crying. If the world should stop revolving, spinning slowly down to die, I'd spend the end with you and when the world was through, then one by one the stars would all go out, and you and I would simply fly away. His voice is beautiful ❤
Nothing that I love more than seeing a beautiful young lady rediscovering real music.. God Bless you! 😎❤️🌹
DG wrote "Everything I Own" about his father, who passed away before David became successful.

About 30 years ago performers dropped the use of so much instrumentals and full orchestra's in their performances. The richness it add's plus the ability's for singers to annunciate back then made music so much better... as you go through band after band of the 70's that were incredible, just when you think you have heard it all there are countless more.
I love this song. It's so chill and peaceful. I'm glad that you do too.
When It Comes To ABSOLUTELY Beautiful Music,, You Can Always Count On Bread,, Firefall,, America,, Ambrosia,, The Carpenters,, Seals & Crofts,, Simon & Garfunkel,, England Dan & John Ford Coley,, Etc.
From the list, I have heard songs from The Carpenters, Bread, Simon & Garfunkel and I can say YES to this.👏
My favourite song by Bread is Aubrey. I never knew her but I loved her just the same.
Such a simple yet emotionally powerful song.
Nice to see you back !!! And to start with Bread and David Gates !!! Way back around 1970 Bread was one of the albums we put on when we were with our girlfriends. There are more great songs by them. -- Diary, - Aubrey, -- Guitar Man, -- and under David Gates name - Goodbye Girl. -- just to name 4.
We use to listen to this music after we came in off the field after training. It took all the stress away from what we were doing. It brings back long memories of buddies that are no longer with us.
Just watching you beautiful face react to this music. Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing!❤️
I see you crying. This is one song that could make anyone cry. It is good to cry once in a while. Love the song, love seeing your reaction.
Thanks
Bread songs always melted my heart back in the day. I loved watching yours melt too.
If I possessed humility and wisdom I'd still have nothing to say. Your reactions said it all. 😍 Thanks for the Proverb. It put me in right in my place. Love has a gentle way of doing that. ❤️
Leonard, your knowledge of Proverbs is far greater than mine. -Ted
Think of how many people have cried when they heard the lyrics in the part "Is there someone you know
You're loving them so
But taking them all for granted"
I was just a young lad when these came out... enjoyed it then and still today.
Memories...
Thank you Baby Girl.
IF - released 1971
EVERYTHING I OWN - released 1972
Beautiful words….for sure. Pure sweet music. They made many good songs.
Two of my all-time favorites - I was there when these songs came out. Glad to see that you have had a chance to hear them...
I know that David wrote it about his dad, but it reminds me so much about my late wife Lin who I miss so much.

Watched again. There are not enough words to describe your beauty. It is beyond description. Your smile is as if the sun breaks through the clouds. Please always keep smiling ❤
"Aubrey" is another great song from Bread
I honeatly don’t think there’s anything more bful than david gates’ voice n his songs he wrote. Brings a tear to my eye.
This is the kind of music I listen to that can change my mood 😌
I love your reaction. I grew up listening to BREAD.
love it!🤍
Had to watch again. Still not enough colours in the world to paint how beautiful you are. Your smile is like the sun bursting through the clouds. Please never stop smiling.
David gate’s incredible voice I grew up in the 60s and 70s
2 beautiful songs. They do not make songs like this any more. Love the music I grew up with...
I just keep watching this video. There is not enough paint in the world to describe your beauty. Your eyes sparkle with a light from heaven and your smile makes the sun blush with envy.
Haha, thanks a lot!🙏❤️
In high school we had a literature teacher who would use songs like "If" and "Time in a Bottle" (Jim Croce) to teach us about "modern poetry". Made it easier to connect to the concept that poetry wasn't just rhyming words.
Our English teacher used " Vincent" and American Pie " to learn us the meaning of the song . I live in Flanders so I speak Dutch and English was our third language we learned when we were 13 yo. Bread was one of my favorite groups. I also love the song " time in a bottle"
@@arwen450 Ahhh, 'Vincent'.. still a favourite and one I listen to frequently. Such a beautifully sad song about the great Van Gogh.
@@saintsefo4763 yes!!
I was 13 when I had my first English lessons. Our teacher in second grade wanted us to name a song to listen to in class and explain the meaning to us and I wrote down two songs : I wish you were here (P. Floyd) , American Pie and Vincent. I listened to English and American singers / bands since I was 12 and understood the lyrics but I had no idea that the song was about Van Gogh. Yesterday there was a special about the American Pie album + a concert of 1972 from Don MLean on the BBC . I recorded it. He had such a smooth and soft way of singing his songs. Love his voice a lot . . Greetings from a 64 yo woman from East-Flanders in Belgium.
We were lucky to grow up with the late '60's and the '70s .I still have my American Pie album 😊
@@arwen450 Greetings and salutations from a 64yo man from New Zealand. We did indeed grow up during a time when music was about expressing emotion, telling a story, simple lyrics which convey a strong message... and the talent to actually sing. Don McLean's 'Castles In The Air' is another favourite of mine. I'm also a 'Bread' fan. My playlists are mostly comprised of songs from the 60s, 70s & 80s.
Saint 😇👋🏽
@@saintsefo4763 Hi Saint from N.Z. same age as I have 😉 Greetings back at you .
Your country is one of the most beautiful ones in the world! I have a friend living there. Always has been on our bucketlist to visit it .. Unfortiunately my health doesn't allow it.
Yes, Casttles in the Air is also a beautiful song! Tomorrow we're going to watch the recorded D. McLean's concert and enjoy all his songs. My husband also loves his songs
My playlist is also mostly 60s and 70s songs. And I also do love an Italian Singer Songwriter "Zucchero" a lot, have been to all his concerts since 1984 so he's on my playlist uptill now.
When I was in college from 1970 to 1974 whenever I had a date I would play BREAD albums as David Gates was the best to get my dates in the romantic mood! He was my biggest influence when I wrote my love songs!
David Gates and Bread where the Masters of Soft Rock. Every member of the band was a gifted Musician. However David Gates was so talented, he won an Oscar for his song Goodbye Girl for the film of the same name!
Aww👏👏
Gates didn't win an Oscar for "Goodbye Girl" for some reason it wasn't even nominated. However, James Griffin, Bread's other singer did win an Oscar for co writing "For All We Know", performed by the Carpenters, from the film "Lovers And Other Strangers".
All songs of bread is my favorite, for me bread band is excellent band
The music, the voice, the lyrics - all pure perfection!
I agree
My two favorite Bread songs right here! Thanks for your reaction. :)
Be strong, Mo. You are greatly loved. Go in peace…

I grew up with these beautiful songs. Talking about beautiful, it's nice to see you again. I've missed you.
Love Bread. I grew up with them also. Love their song Diary.
One thing this world is missing is the Love between a Father and a Son, to not understand this is very sad.... that connection is so important
This was so nice! I have always liked Bread. Loved your sweet reaction! 😊
Nice to see someone from your generation appreciate mine.
Wow this takes me back decades, I liked Bread, pop can be good.
I always thought that this is a beautiful song. I think these songs are from the early 70s. There was so much good music made during that whole decade. I still love your reactions and I'm happy to see you enjoying the music from so many years ago.
As stated below, this was a love song to his dad
I too would give everything to see my dad again 😢
Such a great band and song. !
Cant remember how many 8-track tapes I had of The Best of Bread, back in the day....
Lovely music. I bought the album when it came out.
Thank you so much for this song. It has been a very long time since I've heard it and it still brings tears to my eyes. We take so many loved ones for granted because we never think that the time will come when they are no longer with us. This song went straight to my heart because it made me think of my father. He passed away 30 yrs. ago and I still miss him so much. This song could have been written for him by me if I were blessed with this talent. Thank you for the memories, pretty girl.
🥹💗💗💗
Hi Mo - not hard to predict youd fall for these classics - keep them coming baby girl
Goosebumps and tears. Such great songs. Love your reactions!
Hi Baby Girl , enjoy all your true reactions to some great passed music . Thank You so much ◕‿◕ ♫♪♪
I saw these guys in Dallas-Fort Worth, back in 1971. Great sounds!
Yeah bread was a great group and David Gates was their lead singer and he had a beautiful beautiful voice and I love their songs because it really had a lot of meaning to them and people should take time to listen more often.
I love Bread and their love songs. Great reaction, dear.🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
Hi, Mo and welcome back 👋🏽 You certainly picked a couple of classics to announce your return. I was a young teen when these songs were released and listened to them daily on the radio.. such memories. As usual, I loved your reactions to both songs. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Aww, thanks a lot for this.❤️❤️❤️
Two more tear jerkers.
i so love your lovely face as you react to bread a really lovely group i remember them over 50 years ago thank you!
GOTTA LOVE IT.
I think you’re wonderful. I look forward to every reaction.
Nice songs. Good reaction. Nice to see your beautiful smile. It's been awhile and you always brighten my day. Never stop smiling.
Care to slow dance with me beautiful woman is what these tunes from 1970-1972 inspire.
hello baby girl, you're reaction was so beautiful, love QLD Australia thank you so very much.
You're so pretty. Love hearing these songs again from my youth. Thank you for posting
Thank you too
I was immersed in these songs and artists in the 60's -80's . Super talented, i didnt realize how much talent was out there. Looking at today ...there is a huge difference.
So glad you 'got' the lyrics and the lovely music of Bread.
I really needed a smile today.... Thank you!
😊☺️
Hard not to cry if you are in a sappy romantic mood& if you miss someone so special.
Trueee
Morenikeji Taiwo, o Bread te pegou pelo coração !
Beautiful reaction in If. Jesus Christ bless you.
They were out of LA but the guitarist Jimmy Griffin grew up in Memphis and the guitarist in my band was friends with Jimmy and they attended the same High School❤
Hi Mo, great to see you back & enjoying Bread! If 'Everything i own ' sounded familiar it might be because you have heard Ken Boothes reggae cover version from a few years later! Other Bread songs have already been mentioned so i am going to suggest that you might like 'The Cats in the Cradle' by Harry Chapin. Keep on smiling beautiful girl!
Lost without your love
Also try “It don’t matter to me “

"Aubrey" is a Bread MUST!!!

I loved your reaction to Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven" and so nice to see you enjoying "Bread". Time to subscribe!
The first song was often played as one of the slow-dance songs late in the evening back in the day. Could I have this dance, Morenikeji? 😉
You are always welcome here ! Because of your ability to spread your smile ! Thank you !
May Gods Blessings be with you !

Had to watch again. There are definitely not enough colours in the world to paint you. You are an angel. Please never stop smiling. It is your crown jewel in your beauty.
Hey Bebe girl ❤you look very pretty with these backdrop colors, simply beautiful!
You should react to Dwight Yoakum “YOUR THE ONE”
Chills are good 😁
