I LOVE my Starkline net. Stumbled across it at the local Family Farm shop. I fell for the Premier1 hype long before we bought our farm. It takes 2-3 times longer than the Starkline to setup. The posts flex on hot days and we have to re-tension multiple times and use step in posts between every section to keep the fence upright. And it's not because the ground is soft - I have to predrill the holes to get the pins in the ground with both brands. The Starkline is a dream in comparison. It stays standing even with the hottest days. Now, about that gate...

This video was so timely for me, Chuck! My wife and I are getting our gear accumulated for raising meat birds next year and we were considering Premier 1 poultry netting. I just placed an order for 164 feet of Starkline netting and was happy to save some dough with your discount code.
    Take care and God bless.

I did this with my meat birds. I didn't have as much fencing. We used one round of 80 ft fence for 50 birds in the Joel style tractor. I just added a door on the front of mine. For the most part the birds only came out in the morning and evening during the sunny part of the day they stayed in the tractor. But it worked really well. And I didn't have to move the tractor but every other day. I feel like it made for happier birds as well. I also raise Delaware birds instead of the regular hybrids. This is so I can reproduce my own.

When you hooked up the fence charger. What was the voltage? Did it carry the same as your other fence? Just curious, thanks!

Hi Chuck we've had some rain here in the uk,6mm last Thursday and last night we had about another 2mm we much needed it and more, watching you put up the starkline netting looks like the way we put up our longnets here when we are catching rabbits out in the fields for the farmers as they are a pest here, and that's a nasty bruise you have on your arm, hope Sandra is not beating you up you'll have to watch that if she is😅😂

We have found our freedom rangers and Cornish cross chickens are happier and more active when we allow them to free range in lieu of being confined in a tractor. Most of our meat birds are allowed to free range in a confined paddock rotated as needed. I have found however the last 2 weeks the Cornish cross birds resort back to there typical behavior eat lay down drink lay down but up until then they are as active as any other chicken breed. The freedom rangers will sometimes fly up and rooster on top of the tractor. This style of raising meat birds makes us joyful knowing they are happy. The downside to free ranging them especially the Cornish cross birds are the owls, these birds don’t put themselves up at night nor do they rangle up easily. The freedom rangers will huddle up in a big ball which seems to fend of the owls.

I think you are going to like your day range set up. On my channel I do this, day and night, with all my meat chickens. My bird performance has been off the charts.

FYI. Nets at premier1 suppose to be in this week. Also they have a new net with heavier duty post. I would UK old be intrested to know of your birds went back in the tractor at night.
