The OEM with baffles out is a massive difference too
I love the idea. I love how my Versys sounds with the baffles out but keep them in so I don't annoy the neighbours. Being able to "baffle" the bike at the flick of a switch is an amazing idea.
If you want to see more of these exhausts I would highly recommend watching the guys at Thornton Hundred fit a Jekyll and Hyde exhaust to a Triumph Bobber, it sounds insane!
I had this on my Indian FTR too! It was a fantastic exhaust.
I’ve just seen they sell an exhaust for the Bobber. Now THATS cheeky
Videos like this are cool. Would be nice to see some dedicated motorcycle gear videos also. Like in depth sponsored brands jackets etc
Would love these on my Harley FatBoy but a bit worried about how the engine will perform, after all they need to disable the O2 sensors too right? (Belgian model)
A few years back I tried an Indian Scout Bobber with the Jekyll & Hide exhaust system and the difference was absurd, much more than what it sounds like in this video. It sounded amazing. Too bad they don't make an exhaust for the new Speed Triple RS
u have to remove teh cats then its crazy loud
@@maozero2143 Damn, where are the cats at in these things? I’m assuming it’s hidden behind that little cover just before the mufflers?
Sounds super awesome with the valve opened!
with the angle of the exhaust up at 45 degrees does it not get problems with water ingress when it rains. wouldnt fancy trying to open the valve when its rusty
Or you could drill the pipes and remove the baffles , which you can always reinstall if need be and save a load of wedge . It’s pretty straight forwards to do , it must be if I managed it without making a mess
I have a problem.on my j&h exaust on my 48. It doesnt allow me to put the half position anymore, just open and close... Also the open position change depending on speed...( on stop it closes and opens a few seconds I start to ride.. Then after 50 km/h or so it closes again.. Any clue on what happens
That is awesome! Open value is so good!!!
Love to see the modifications!
The Akro doesn't sound bad, but why is it making a rattling noise like that? As if there are loose pennies rattling away inside? Is that normal?
do they make one for Z900RS?
Would love to see this open vs Akras without baffles.
OMG, I like it. It sounds so throaty. And it looks so cool.
It's not enough that I ride a bike. It's critically important that everyone in the county knows that I ride a bike. /s
Good Vid.... I'd love to hear the J&H with the breadbox removed.
Great video, love the quality and the sound of these, but when I was shopping around and comparing I couldn't help but feel like they were one of those brands that are cashing in on the "luxury brand" thing a little more than I'm comfortable with personally. Not that I wouldn't buy one if I had cash to blow ;)
I ride 2019 xsr700 and love it and would love to get an Indian ftr at some point but man idk it's kind of a bad sounding bike. Maybe I got too used to the sounds of yamahas Mt's and xsrs because this sounds kind of weird like it's wheezing.
I think if some one sold just the valve so like a car with exhaust cutouts straight after the pipes and before the muffler it would be perfect. OEM look and dragster sound when needed.
Its a slip on with a valve, surprised they require that they install it but then again with the "ecu" for Euro laws perhaps its more involved. The volume won't be dramatic as it's still using the stock cat and headers.
The Chief sounds good though.
J/k Sounds Awesome, luv it.
Sounds awesome!!
Nice, deep grumble. I like it.
i removed the db killers on my 2022 FTR Carbon, it sounds a lot better than standard but it's a bit illegal in a lot of places ...
edit: not a fan of the 1 pipe look for the FTR myself :(
I’m interested in an exhaust for my new super chief.
Damn that Thruxton ❤️
I wonder if there's a difference in back pressure requiring the electronics to tweak the fuelling, or if they've managed to keep the pressure the same via both routes?
Bike most likely changes, I mean it is the same as a normal slip on with the baffle vs without the baffle
@@joekleinberger4922but wouldn’t you expect the ECU to have to take a little time to learn the changes to maximize performance and efficiency? I guess only a test ride would say for sure as to what the rider experiences in terms of delay. I certainly want one.
excellent note to it
That is scrumptious.
Have known about this for a while but not available in the states. Or is it?
Don't have any of that social media stuff.
It's a neat idea but not the nicest looking pipe(I know looks are subjective) Seem expensive to my eyes too. Always good to the Rally on the tube
Excellent!
its a shame they dont make it for japanese cruisers would love that on my vulcan 900
I like the look of the Akra more.
I have the Akropovic on mine and that's how it will stay. I like the looks and I hate loud pipes with a passion. The original is plenty loud enough with a nice fruity sound.
No I'm not. This is a scam.
gut the cat and run the stock exhuast, says this geeze. did it on my springfield and it was mellow and cheap.
Please can someone explain to me how bikes have a lot of grip despite having much skinnier tires than cars, and if cars are heavier shouldn't they have more grip?
Pretty sure cars have a lot more grip than bikes!
@@motobob no, bikes can do 0 to 60 in around 3-4 seconds while hellcats can't despite them having way wider tires, 2 in fact please I need explanations
Bike's don't have more grip, they have less. Cars can handle more braking and acceleration forces without overloading the tyres, but they're heavier so they require more forces to accelerate as fast as a bike which is why bikes are faster. Bikes also have stickier tyres that wear quicker than car tyres, but car tyres usually focus more on lifespan, making them less sticky than the equivalent bike tyre.
@@will_on2793 oh I get it now thanks
@@kalactose348 Go calculate how much weight each horsepower has to move on that 3-4 second bike and on your hellcat
Would be cool with headers too
Most of the sound is neutered by the cat on these modern bikes but those pipes are nice. Pricey but nice.
Indian looks nice.
it is very nice
Very nice indeed, and I really hate loud bikes
Better! Much better if you get rid of the Catalytic converter
Thanks for your great content 👍.
Last week I got a reply from MotoBob about some kind of pending "Give away" from your channel. Was that actually you folks?
Other CZcams providers are having issue with SCAMMING on their channel..
Have you had any problems??
Cheers 🍻, G.
This is definitely some "when i win the lottery" type shit. Although they don't seem to do straight up bonnevilles, which is disappointing. Oh well, I'll wait for another couple years until I get a big ol cruiser and then I'll get some of these for it.
I mean... I am not very fond of overly noisy systems, and was expecting a lot more when open as it seems it becomes a straight open pipe... I like this one as it makes it bassier, but still withing road legal limits. SO it changes the note of the system, without making it a lot louder. Fit and finish is also up there. even so... Too much money just for noise effect.
I want the mk1 then
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ask any BMW GS owner, and he will tell you that a fancy mechanical valve in an open tube with intense heat and moisture is a failure waiting to happen.
And once the valve fails, what do you do?...
I think royal Jordanian had similar setup on his husky - really loud though. Neat solution but I still don’t get why would you like a loud pipe. It’s just gives you headache and damages your hearing so you need to use earplugs and then you don’t hear much anyway. So it looks like you do it for others - but they think you are a twat… hence I just don’t get it. Nice sound yes, loud sound - what’s the point?
You should really be wearing earplugs while riding anyway though, even with a stock exhaust. With a set of reasonable loud pipes mine went from inaudible to a nice level of noise that is perfectly fine even sat on the motorway for hours. It's too loud with no earplugs, but I never ride without them so I don't mind.
I'd go for Akrapovič 10/10.
Thruxton sounds like a V8. 👌🙂👍
There’s a reason why I chose my CZcams name.
thats a lot of money for an exhaust that uses the stock headers and the cat
Nice finish, nice sound but looks nowhere near as nice as the Akras. Buy a set of model year 19 headers & a decat link, way cheaper, keeps the looks, sounds awesome, not legal tho'.
You need to de-cat that bike bruv
The price of this system is ridiculous. I can get Ohlins front and rear, exhaust, and a tune for thw same price... Mayne even a set of rubber too. $3k USD is absurd.
OMG
Take my money
After all the chatter, it still sounds TreeHugger friendly :(
Buggers... no Honda (or any Japanese makes) available.....
De-cat that thing!
@TELEGRAM ME:@MotoBob_info so did you de-cat it?
Good review; dubious product🤪. Pretty expensive way to play hooligan. Why can’t motorcyclists just grow-up?
If anyone ever totaled up the aggregate hp loss from loud pipes it would power all the lights of Los Vegas🤪.
AkrApovic, not AkrOpovic. Bloody annoying that you keep saying it wrong.
Jekil & Hyde is way to overpriced for me to even consider buyinh.
Massively overpriced and gimmicky. Almost £2k for a flappy slip on and little heat shield, crazy. You’re paying for the “name” and “bespoke” sales pitch. Far better - and cheaper - options out there.
Meh
Price is a bit crazy but hey, why ride a better bike when you can just waste 2K on a cringe exhaust AMIRIGHT
Too expensive
I’ll never understand the obsession with changing a bike’s exhaust. If you want it to sound like a Harley, just buy a damn Harley. Total waste.
Yeah but then you'd have to deal with Harley R&D
