It’s a pity, i feel sad for Ghana and Africa for that matter. A stadium that is supposed to host a competition should be 100% completed at least three months before the commencement of the competition. My prayer is that God should deliver Ghana and the rest of Africa from poverty.

Bro, this government is the most corrupt and criminals Ghana has ever had. Over $200 million has been spent on this sports complex. In fact Ghana won the bid to host the competition 3 to 4yrs ago. At the location where the events are going to be held, most of the infrastructure there are temporal. They could not build a befitting structures including a brand new stadium as planned and designed. They are now relying on the already existed project of the university of Ghana stadium. Very dirty and corrupt government led by Akuffo Addi

This work should have been completed atleast 2months before the start of the event. Aww Ghana when are we at all going to do the right thing. Truth be told , the work been done is just temporal and will deteriorate in a short time. The government allocates huge sums of money for these kind of projects but nothing better is been done. you wait for the dying minute before you complete projects. How durable are they going to be. God help us. Stomach Leaders!

  • @franktuffour2013

Honestly I'm very disturbed that Ghana as a country is going to use this roofless old fashioned stadium to host such a competition with opening and closing ceremonies taking place here.
Let's just look at the simple but modern stadia Ivory Coast is using for the Afcon.
I sincerely think the world will mock and ridicule us unless something is done to this stadium.

Guys please there is this have to make it clear the legon stadium was specific made for Athletics and field works(ie javilin, short put, discus etc) only that was the university plan and it was made for football because the university have about 10 football pitches across the school not stadium just that u can use the field for football the nania pitch was the university plans to use that us their football stadium but the funds wasn't there even they wanted to construct a new hockey pitch

There is no type of covering over the seating so everybody will be sitting in the hot sun and getting rained on when it rains. This is 2024 and they still use 1940s era building design. The romans built better looking stadiums. And actually had some type of roof covering system back in those days

Nigeria hosted this competition 21 years ago with brand new 60,000 capacity stadium and brand new Olympics games village complex. Fast foward 21 years later Ghana is presenting National secondary school sports standard facility for the continent of Africa. Shame to Ghana and Ghanaians. This is mediocre..
