@@Nutjobdotcom what do you think actually caused the fire though? I’ve had the alternator belt pop off before, battery light comes on the dash and I shut it down quickly.
@@Nutjobdotcom It may have started with the alternator belt but you can clearly see flaming petrol running out underneath the engine. Once a fire has burnt through the fuel line in the engine bay than there is nothing to stop the whole tank of fuel emptying out into the engine bay and feeding the fire. This why you see the complete back end burnt out on some camper fires. the fuller the tank, the bigger the fire. A mag valve fitting under the tank that is closed when the ignition is off stops this. If your fire was purely the belt and alternator burning out then it would not have done nearly as much damage as you had.
I'm so sorry to hear this Ben! This is terrible news! I've been staying hooked to the Instagram all day for updates!
She’ll be fine. A tough old bus will bounce back! Cheers Dan
Whoops! 😬
That was my words exactly John ☺️
Horrible. Glad you filmed it and the fire brigade response. That was interesting to see.
Great bunch. White watch at Hove
Wow, never thought about that. Did the belt hop off? Or the alternator seize up?
We think a hop off… but bit more investigating tomorrow 😳

Why you should always fit a mag valve to the fuel line ! :(
Nowt to do with the fuel line… Alternator…but still a good idea 👍👍

Great point… we need to look in to this 👍👍
@@mechanoid5739 recommend a good mag valve?
