The part that cracks me up is how that wasn't a biblical angel.. it was obviously a demon. The subtext of the show's "angel" was that Christians had altered their own mythology so much that when faced with a creature from it, they can't recognize it. It's really clever commentary on the religion without alienating the genuine belief of the religious.

Not really but if you say so I mean the guy said Easter which is pagan. Which was celebrated during new equinox. Where passover is Christian. The 2 merge to appease and make it appealing. But I guess this would count as not recognizing Demon, if you didn't know biblical scripture and worldly lore.

The Vampire never actually told him that he was an angel. Father Pruitt just assumed he was an angel in his religious delusional state, and from having dementia. When you have preconceived religious beliefs, you will twist things to be what you want them to be.
only problem I had in this series was how it seems pop culture of doesn't exist in this universe because no one recognized this was vampirism. it would've been more believable in pre-modern times

@@gerunkwon2598i agree with this, zombie, ghosts, these genre also share a similar theme where the people in their universe dont really recognize these mythologies and is experiencing it for the first time hence why as a viewer it may come off as “duh doi” but take a look at our own world, we just had a SARS pandemic awhile ago (comparatively) and when COVID hit it seemed like it was the first time again though escalated to a very dangerous level

If you love horror, and you haven't watched every Mike Flanagan movie you can find, you are missing out. Each time another series or season comes out I just know in going to binge it. He doesn't have uneven production, every one is strong. I'm hopeful we've finally got the right man to bring Stephen King to screen without obliterating it.

Exactly. That's the only unrealistic part in my opinion. Like, if I'm not mistaken, it seems that they have internet on the island. Or at the very least, some of them have been on the mainland at some point.
So realistically, some people have got to know what a vampire is through the internet. Especially the kids.
They are twisted by religious faith. They see what they want to see. They are desperate for the "miracles" to be real and confirm their religious beliefs, so they convince themselves that is an angel, not a vampire.

I feel like I understand the priest point of view just wanting to help everyone in making everyone's life easier and happier but this is what I always say to myself when I say someone struggle I say this is their problem to go through with it so they can grow if I interfere I would ruin their growth and this is why I don't like interfere with people's problem I'm not saying don't help yes I would help people I can help obviously but all I'm saying is don't play the hero or i can make your life easier like the priest did because you were ruin everything by trying to make everyone happy

i really loved this series, at the end everyone died, this father as a vampire is the only story i had seen about someone who is a vampire but with good intentions, he had to face his reality but he had nothing but good intentions, the bad people just did evil things, the church lady just died as miserably as she ever was, the town acted just like humans always acted, just killing all who were seen as different, just like human history.
I loved seen the old lady become younger, the father figure and in a way the logic behind the old winged vampire blood is wrong because the girl loosed mobility again on her legs, that means the vampire blood can make you younger and cure you of everything but the effects start to fade inmediatly after it reach its peak, so, the old lady would start to age again, etc, i had seen this series a long time ago, but if im not wrong you needed to consume blood or die to become a permanent vampire because if you drink the winged vampire blood and not feed you the effects of the blood will fade in time.
I think that the girl lost the ability to move her legs at the end because the vampire died trying to race the sun. After the vampire dies, the power from it's blood disappears.
