Yey
Stays inside the cabin for months and never realized there was a giant door below their feet? C'mon😂
Yeah, no way every inch of that place wouldn't have been explored.
To be fair ppl have lived in houses and didnt knew there were secret rooms in those houses.
@@dranzerjetli5126 Yeah, but they aren't trapped in the house. They can leave, come back, etc. We're talking about a group of people that really don't have much else to do but explore and find ways to escape for, what, five months? No one pulled up a rug?
That was funny, lol
In that five months, no one walked on that part of the floor either? This gets more and more terrible the more we think about it.
Many illogical and unanswered questions here:
1. Why would Mina go off-road when she can use help or go back home?
2. Where is electricity coming from to this cabin?
3. Where are they getting food from ? Water, bathing, and dumppp?
4. Why am I even watching this ?
Sorry just take this redbull drink and relax but remember there is no wings
When you finish a horror movie, with every question you find more plot holes and silly decisions made.
the actual movie explains all of this, just came from watching it and i saw your comment. The monsters are changelings , A scientist built the bunker and sacrifice the worker to the watchers after they completed certain parts of the build, the watchers learn how to become the person in the room, they are trap on the island and they can't fly away because they lost their wings. The scientist lost his wife and he went to this island to bring her back as that is what the people from before use to do but eventually the humans lock them away and trap them on that island. The old lady, was actually a changeling the only one who was a day walker, she is actually half human. You should watch the show it wasn't bad.
5. Was this written by AI or by DEI ?
6. How many people got cancer just watching this recap?
7. If there's a half-changeling, who screwed a changeling? Also, who cares?
8. Nobody looked under the rug for HOW MANY months, years??
@@penlavits3305 Thanks, that actually explains a lot. I might watch it now. A lot of the other commenters just seem confused or have watched the movie and say it was awful.
Gotta love a guy that would rather be held hostage than work a minimum wage job.
Basically the same thing
@@xavbags6511you get rest if you’re a hostage though
If you are a hostage, your takers have to find your food, drink, room, take care of your health. If you are an employer you don't have to pay enough to cover those things.
This is why slavery will never return to capitalist societies. It is cheaper to have employees than slaves.
silliest movie i have ever seen
Honestly the worst. So dramatic for what.
You saved me from paying for this.

I urge everyone to read the book for a much better, fully fleshed out version of this. The movie absolutely gutted the life out of this story. It’s so disappointing.
I know the author to the book, He was quite peeved by how they changed the name from The Watchers to The Watched. Also the woods arent irish but all the other scenes are filmed in galway city.
Loved the book.
The book is so much better than this gutted version of it. Like a changeling that hasn’t grasped how to mimic properly, it’s a warped imitation.
I hold the book in high regard and cannot wait for “Stay in the Light”.
@@elizabethjames2296 the author has already confirmed that the book and the movie are different and will both be going their own way. The book isn't going to be influenced by the movie but the next movie may be influenced by the book
Looks like the shyamalan plot hole and story gap ability is hereditary
😆
Hilarious 😂
Once again strange creatures in the forest. Shamalayn likes that idea.
But there were no mysterious monsters in the forest. It was people dressed in costume. Did you not watch the film?
@@ltme4134 yes I saw. It's a variation on that repeating theme. Just as water is the weakness of aliens, heroes, and the home of mythical creatures.
Forests are the last natural frontier and it makes sense to have unknowns about them, but his entire approach is ooo spooky myth let's make a movie with a twist and it fails every time.
All that time and the rug never moved. 😂
So the men that the professor hired built the bunker and had no problems leaving in and out of the forest beforehand? Cmon.
Very good!
00:32 - it's OK to take a parrot to a zoo in a neighbouring city, but don't ever try transporting mynahs across state lines.
Why are the best comments always lacking likes?
this reminds me of the myth where an infertile woman asked the fae to help her so they used magit to let her get pregnant, then took the baby and replaced it with a changeling baby (as per a deal they made). After some time she went to go get her baby back from the fae and they took both babies and put them next to each other thinking she couldn't tell them apart. They told her that any baby she leaves will die and any baby she takes home will be hers forever. She took them both and raised them as twins, since she had already loved and cared for both. Kinda sweet :)
Looks like a borderline "From" rip off
This seriously looks like From 😂😂😂
Was thinking the same😂😂
It’s a book released in 2021
Well this was the most confusing thing I’ve ever heard 😂
They are cutting down a 400 year old Fairy oak tree in Ireland on a site to build accommodation for residential migrant accommodation local people have protested about the Fairy tree been cut down.
Bet. Adding angry fairies full of wrath to my Apocalypse bingo sheet right there next to AI taking over the world or the world going up in flames due to climate change.
That's outrageous !
WTF is going on with western countries !
It's a war many haven't woken up to yet. It'll be too late when they do
Uhhuh. Sure they are
@@SD-vy7gjThey are....what are you? Some type of conspiracy theorist?
@@SD-vy7gjIt's more of a cultural thing, but it is true. Doesn't mean fairies are actually living in the tree.
oo its out already? thats fast
This was good I got the story and didn't lose a lot of time.

I wish I would have waited to watch this recap instead of viewing the whole movie. It was god awful.
Nooooo was it really bad?

@@DrTelos fair enough. But I highly advise you to watch this recap to save you alot of time and headaches.
The movie was so good until the last 10 minutes.😅
I thinkg it would be a good short horror film not a full feature, anyone else agree?
So no one realizes that these are fallen angels… wow. Well done.
Great book. I'll give this a watch.
Don’t do it. It’s been absolutely butchered 😢
Nine times out of ten the book is always so much better than the movie!!
Seems cool but I bet it's slow
It makes a good horror short film but not a full length feature film.
The book is fairly short. You should give it a read
Saved me a watch
It was okay, a bit slow in the beginning but it picks up near the end.
How can we save our lives?
its a sad story
She is the new canary
And when/what do they eat?
I haven't seen the movie but literally from the watcher logo I sensed this is based of the Watcher Angels (fallen angels)
It’s the “Fae” or Tuatha Dé Danann from Irish folklore…..they literally said fairies several times throughout the recap.
@bozman2007 I knew it was going to be some kind of fae! The trailer just had the feeling for them.
This movie is crazy & makes zero sense.
Nephilim(means Giants) in short, interesting also that the angels who sinned and "left their first abode" and had relations with human women were called "Watchers" in the Apocryphal("hidden") book "Enoch", and the biblical flood is what wiped them out(Gen6). Even more interesting is the Mesopotamian religion "divine beings" known as "Apkallu" were credited with teaching humanity what it needed to establish civilization, or in a sense "hidden" knowledge. They then to preserve the knowledge given to humanity they came down from their and fathered children with human women, These quasi-divine humans survived the flood, known as "Apkallu", "Mats-Tsarey", or in English, "Watchers".
All part of God's plan I guess.
Nephillim means fallen ones
Also the falling ones but half human half angle
@@josephpaerau9144 Nephilim: "giants," name of two peoples, one before the flood and one after the flood
Original Word: נְפִיל

@@josephpaerau9144 It's Hebrew for Giants literally, “the fallen ones” is from the Hebrew "Naphal", “to fall”
Wow so no one bothers to check the floor to find an exit?
if you guys like movies/shows like this theres a show called from that is very similar to the plot of this and its very good
Just watched it last night, this is one of those horror movies that completely hinges on the reveal being good, everything else is just building tension, if the payoff for all those questions is good then the ending will be good, it was not a good ending, I watched the movie "I saw the TV Glow" by A24 right after and it was much better
The most unbelievable part is they spent months in that room & never thought to explore or look around & suddenly they find a trap door for a bunker🤦🏽♀️I would of found that sh!+ asap looking for another way out wtf
I would take care of her.
Hey , it’s Coraline !
Was that Jack Quad from the boys
I tried watching this movie, but it commits one of the worst sins a movie can commit. Not the sin of being bad. Plenty of bad movies can still be watchable and even enjoyable, if you're in the right mood for them. No, this movie commits the sin of being boring. The movie tries really hard to be interesting and introduce many different angles but it just doesn't land any of them.
I had no idea this was labeled as a horror movie until after I'd already seen it and it definitely doesn't feel like one. It feels like it wants to be a suspense movie but falls incredibly short of its mark in trying to get there.
Not bad movie.
OK, now I can do something else instead of watching the film.
Not horror but sad.
It was based on a book.
please tell me the bird survived :(
The main girl keeps it as a pet after their escape. 🐦
whew, you just saved me roughly $40
Why would he lock them out at night?! Because he got mad? Like wtf?
This movie is about Skinwalkers, and not “fairies”
Horror 💀💀💀
Why can’t Hollywood make movies based on what people want and NOT based on what the director wants to push? They would have less faults.
That's not how art works?
This is a true story. I was there when it happened.
Bra...farries?comon shamalyn
Just as bad as I thought it would beZ
Does dakota fanning pop her chest out in this thing?
Very cool movie ngl
i really like the story, its like a fever dream. but its kinda.. hard to buy at some points. he gathers workers from remote citys around? how the fuck did he do that? and how the fuck did these people build a frickin bunker with bare hands? even if he sent a textmessage to each one "bring a 40kg sack of concrete for your first workday", the structure is so massive underground, it would take like 10.000 frickin people just to have the material concrete on site. and then you would still need planks, a fucking machine to mix it, water, AN EXCARVATOR.... and for sure, noone would care if like 10.000 people went missing
NOONE WOULD CARE
Maybe the hatred for the things wouldn't be a thing if idk, they stop changing like freaks. Or into people you knew that they claimed. Like learn to be human and movie wouldn't be a thing
Forgive me for asking a stupid question (out of sheer ignorance), but I thought there were no forests in Ireland? I visited the country a couple of times in the past and it looked pretty flat to me, just fields and farmhouses (outside of the cities, I mean).
Compared to other areas of the world, Ireland’s forests aren’t really remarkable. The majority of Ireland has been farmed over and so most forests are rather small, or are resource farms themselves. There aren’t many “natural” spaces in Ireland left. There are forests certainly, but they don’t typically look like what we see in this movie.
Movie is forgettable. Not worth it
What a crap movie
How the fuck did that bunker got made??
Did you watch the video he literally explained it 😂 swear everyone has the attention span of a goldfish
@@tedsavage3850 he just said he used the labor of men from nearby village. Which doesn't make sense
1. They need to enter the forest first... with equipment... and materials. a lot of them.
2. They had to live there for a while. U nless they want to go in and out there everytime which is quite unlikey since as I said is in the middle of the goddamn forest.
3. Living there would be impossible without the bunker. You know the one their building?
I swear some people just agree to everything that said to them even if it doesnt make sense
Makes sense since there was danger at night, but maybe they go back home before dawn.
This movie was super bad and not worth the time or money. Also you could guess the twist almost immediately
What crap...
This movie was so boring 😭
Movie is "okay" just the last few minutes of it is really shit.
Fairies ' skinwalker '.
Treible movie, no story... just a waste of my time. :(
First 🎉🎉
Was good up until “fairy” that’s when they lost me lmao
It’s part of Irish folklore, the “Fae” or more specifically the Tuatha Dé Danann. Changelings and shapeshifters are a pretty common theme in some stories.
Stupid movie
Derivative and unoriginal, and a silly plot to boot. Nothing makes any sense - for instance, in what university would a professor's office be left as a time capsule? A classic example of nepotism, with daughter trying to emulate father's success. Unfortunately there is little chance of success as her father's style is too limited (creepy isolate settlement/cabin, creatures in the woods, nothing what it seems to be).
This movie was a big pile of💩. Super unoriginal and boring. I love twist endings but i feel like we can do without it. I hate movies that explain everything, maybe hint at certain things and have the people guessing and challenge us as viewers. I feel like we need to make a list of overdone or overused movie creatures and tropes. Changlings is one of them.
this movie suck ass!! no story whatsoever
This movie was absolute dog shite.
Waste of times and rubbish
