- The film is quite complicated, it is not always immediately clear what is real and what is a memory or hallucination. Especially when it comes to the same characters. But everything is redeemed by a rather unpredictable finale, which explains all the strangeness of the plot.

Hey, I'm a scriptwriter and I'd like to work for your Let me know what your email is and I will contact you.
Why can't you lead with that? I see posts like this all the time... no title, especially, on Tik Tok.
With Patrick mc goohan, he was the creator and writer of that series as well.
I need a recap video for this recap video.
same ^^
Retweet as fuckkk! Even had the subtitles on. I lost count of how many times I had to rewind and read them lmao
THIS!
Recapping a récap 😂😆😂😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This recap is so confusing that I forgot who I was.
My head hurts 🤯😁
Mine exploded!!!!!😮😮
Right.. kept hoping It would get better.. not.

_"the prisoner"_ was a groundbreaking (for that time) series from 1967, about an secret service -higher clearance than mi5 - operative who quits suddenly. he starts packing in his flat to escape but is gassed and he wakes up in a bizarre village, where everyone is addressed by numbers. anytime he tries to escape, a giant white ball like in this rolls out of the water and captures the person inside. there's psychedelic drugs, mind control, etc, and it's really trippy af. it's an english series and the village is set in a picturesque town in portmeirion in wales.
the village was basically a futuristic prison camp, and there were mobile fones, well, cordless fones, and touchscreens throughout the village to indicate "you are here", and i could be mistaken having not seen it since the 90's when i saw it as a kid (they repeated it) but i think that it ran not on money but on social credit.....
and either way, it was way better and far weirder than this, uber-trippy. the set design and the costumes were fantastic. there was a giant chessboard, and golf carts people would drive about as taxis.
typical visions from the 60s
who would've guessed that instead of that future what we got is fat people would fight to death over tp on black friday, the news helicopter would fly ahead live streaming the event, and this would be watched by people who play dumb games to earn money while eating synthesized food, and the website where this is at would earn money by pushing government misinformation along with the clips of some black celebrity slapping another during some ridiculously unimportant ceremony, while on the other part of the world suicide drones would decimate civilians.
Who is number one
I am not a number I am a free man.
The show had so much that a 2hr movie just can't do justice too.
DangerMan ... retired to Portmerrion
@@cmdrsesslaine8701
what about dangermouse, then? ;D
ahhhh ... memories of Penfold and the Baron Greenback, thank you :)
Based on a TV program from the 70s called the Prisoner. The village from the TV program still exists in Wales . Patrick McGoohan was the Prisoner. Famous quote from the movie "I am not a number"
It was a place they put retired spys.
@@coonhound29406
Who was "they"?
His car in the series was a very early Lotus 6
Be seeing you 👌
they repeated it in the 90's when i watched it and as a kid that ball thing freaked me out, it was really innovative for that era wasn't it, '67 or whenever it was created.
holy crap, they finally remade this show from the 60s, it was awesome
So the little girl disappeared and the parents gave up quickly and the mourning didn't last long.😑😂😂😂
Wow, I remember watching the original 1960's/70's TV series. It was trippy and weird, much like everything else back then
I am not a number!
@@mnomadvfx You're a free man!
Am I watching a film breakdown or am I secretly doing maths. 😂 so confusing tbh you could of used fake names.
OMG If mental gymnastics was an Olympic sport I deserve the Gold medal for getting thru this-LOL
Same. 😅😅
Avoid _Hynotic_ with Ben Affleck. 4/10. Also, _Beau is afraid_ with Joaquim Phoenix. 2/10.
However, _Fast X_ is a string of dumb set pieces loosely strung together, which is like a remixed greatest hits of the franchise, only problem is the abrupt end without "to be continued..." so if you like _Fast & Furious_ movies, you will probably like that. 8/10. Jim Caviezel was very good in the excellent _Person of Interest_ TV series (although his beard is dodgy initially).
Magneto is always causing problems.
A massive hole in your backyard? Definitely Climate Change! 🤣🤣
A guy two doors down sneezes and it will be blamed on climate change.
Yep definitely climate change 😂
And I thought the original prisoner was confusing
You may recall, in the original 1960s version of this series, the car McGoohan was driving in the title sequence was a Lotus 7. I had a derivate (Caterham 7) and with other "7 club" members, used to have days out to Portmeirion from time to time where that version was filmed. It remains a superb place to visit, quite unique and obviously influenced by the region around the Amalfi coast. On a sunny day (Wales does have some), it's a place you can really lose yourself in.
The original was a great TV series only slightly marred by the very last episode which was obviously never intended to offer any explanation, and just borrowed heavily from other 1960s "trippy" experimental TV. I think this 2009 series could have improved upon the original by introducing a clever resolution but the one written just wasn't that.
I've often thought that, if the various prisoners knew of their lives beforehand, they might have chosen to live out the remainder of their lives in the village without complaint, as it does seem to be some sort of small-scale utopia. I mean, if I could meet with Ruth Wilson there, for example... 😍
Keep up the good work
I just had a stroke watching this recap.
Predictive programming, I remember the series. People that know the truth are typically labelled as crazy.......
What's this called?
@@kristingallo2158 The prisoner, it is a remake
@@annpenso7299 ok thanks, the 60's one has the same name too right?
@@kristingallo2158 yes

Awesome and interesting story recap
Wait, that was a movie? It looks like one and a half seasons of a show. That was canceled.
So number 2s druged his wife and with the village and everyone in the village is also drugged and number 6 found out he was in a drug trip and made number 2s wife start getting sick until the real life 313 took over the village im so confused
watched both series long ago. while I still have a distinct memory of the original 60s "Prisoner" with Patrick McGoohan, the remake was utterly forgettable.
I only remember thinking "this is a LOST ripoff", which is ironic, considering it was LOST ripping off the original series.
Same here. I saw the original back when it first was on TV in the 1960s, and though I have not rewatched it, it was very memorable. I did watch the mini-series several years ago, but until this youtube recap turned up in my recommendations today I had totally forgotten it.
Seeing the title, I was wondering if it was a remake of the 60s series. This seems good too but slightly different. Even though it's old, the original will always be the best.
Well I'm confused
Yep so am I. I guess we’ll have to watch the movie to understand it. lol
same here
Well the original show from the 60s looks like it was devised from some acid fuelled fever dream, so as confusing as this is it still makes more sense than the original.
@@Chalky. oh no wonder
This is so convoluted my head hurts.
the prisoner was a British sifi tv series in the 60s-70s about a spy who did wrong and was dropped on an island and given the number 6 this seems to be a remake of it with a twist it ran for a few years like the series lost it didnt explain a lot of details
The spy did nothing wrong. He quit the agency and the agency kidnapped him and took him to the village.

I loved that show.
@@bornwithaBA ah yes i remember that now you mention it been many years thanks it was a great show
@@bornwithaBA waking up in a replica of his own room and looking out at the luxury, hi-tech prison camp.
they even had touch-screens in the village, where it would indicate "you are here"...
Did I just sit through five rounds of Bingo?
One of the few movie recaps I haven’t really understood
That was CONFUSING
Since I was born in 1951 I remember the original The Prisoner TV series that was made during the 1960s and starred Patrick McGoohan. It was an unusual television show.
The majority of the sixties original is worth a look
What is it called?
@@kristingallo2158 The Prisoner. It stars Patrick McGoohan as Number 6; who was also in a series called Danger Man (it has a different title in the USA) as a spy, which has lead to some theorizing it is the same character.
I am not a number...I am a free man!!
This is horrendous 😢
If there was EVER a movie that should have been a Netflix series...!
My brain after this:💥💥
Why drive a tour bus if everyone lives in the village and know their way around? Who are the tourists and where did they come from? Do they ever leave? That makes no sense.
Is this a remake of the prisoner? I loved that tv show. I’m geeking out
Yes
Wow. I need a mental break after this recap....
Bonkers. Like chain mail made from Möbius strips that’s being worn inside out in an Escheresque manner while floating around in one of Dalis crappier moods. Blech.
Bra I felt like I was watching a acid trip
This is reminding me of the 60's show, "The Prisoner"...
Outstanding job!👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
30 min recap video? i need a recap vid for this one.
30 minutes recap? This is half the movie time!
i had no idea they had remade this one
That is Haley Atwell? One of the most beautiful actresses today... It is incredible how good-looking she is.
I feel like don't worry darling was inspired by this and the original versions
gandalf was in the weed shed again...
This is where numbers fly right past you😭..
Is it just me or is 145 Morgan from walking Dead
So why did the son kill his “partner” and if you get closer to the truth the white ball or wholes would appear? So how were certain characters able to cross dimensions to appear as doppelgängers? I may have to go back and rewatch this recap but thanks for the recap the plot is interesting for sure.
Wow and I thought The Matrix was a mind bending trip? 😮
He is Magneto!
Literally confused tf out of me 😂
This is a reboot of the older "Prisoner" series. While I liked the original, I hated the reboot.
Thank God we've got names instead of numbers in our real life...!
Bcos im confused as hell !
What a freaking mess
DON'T SHOW TV MINI SERIES unless you're going to show the whole series
The story it reminds me of LOST tv show and book series of Dantes Inferno.
Ummm... so Umm... The Pigs..... We just gonna skip over the pigs to breathe better. Where da *bleep did the pigs come from ?? 😡😡😡. 🐷 🐖🐖🐖🐖
This was super confusing...
Come on America, when will you stop this. 'The Prisoner' is a cult British classic 60's TV series and, just like 'The Office' you have trashed it. Patrick McGoohan would be turning in his grave at this! 🙁🙁🙁
A movie with Magneto its not to end well.
I am beyond lost.
Could you repeat that, please?
involved with the son ?! he looks like hes 16!
No idea they remade the classic.
The end at least makes more sense than the original TV series version.
Personally I thought the ending of the original was brilliant, but then again I saw it way back when it was first on TV.
Nope still confused.
Where can I watch this series?
I’m so confused I’m not sure if I’d like the movie. Tho it has a great cast. Imma 🚬and pretend it all makes sense.
After years of metaphysical study, I now believe I understand the premise inspiring the creation of this show. It is that we live in a hyper-dimensional reality, with high-stragness expressing its presence as it inter-penetrates our realm. Our perception is thrown askew as our subconscious metaphor translation ability attempts to provide symbols to represent the effect the foreign energy has on our consciousness.
In layman's terms, we're controlled by the government to look at life and the actions of our government to be good, when it's actually terrible!😖😂😂👍
lmfao

With everyone identified as numbers, recap sounded like an extremely long & complicated math equation...
so basically truman show on steroids and red pills.

What movie is this and how can I watch it

I think some of the cast they are also in LOST tv series.
Why is the thumbnail from the movie Red Cliff?
