The commercial for Flex Seal says to add a layer to the bucket and then wait for it to dry and then add the next layer, not at all of them at once and assume it's all going to dry.

We used some Flex Seal on the bottom of a very leaky Jon boat about 4 years ago. No leaks so far. We also used it on the roof at deer camp. Worked well there also.

I had a 3500 gallon water tank that was set on some junk that caused several small holes on the bottom of tank , we drained it prepped the tank inside and out the brushed on a gallon of flex seal equal coats inside and out that was 6 years ago . the tank is still holding water with no leaks at all thank you Phil.
Good review. The bucket leak is most likely due to poor joints. It’s very difficult to get a cut up bucket like that to line up properly.

The box started leaking. More coats would sealed it all good on the buckets too. Fun fact, I once took a curb too hard and poked a hole in the side wall of my car's tire. I used a tire patch, tire cement and flex seal at first I got about 3 months on the tire in the winter and it held air. The seal eventually came loose and had to be redone. The second time I used like 12 layers that seal never came undone. Eventually, when I was a less broke college student I did finally replace my tires with new ones. I also like the flex tape that is water proof. Some moron used a leaf blower on the roadway and flung a ton of pebbles at the side of my car, for the parts that the pebbles scratched deep enough through the paint it protected it well. There's still no rust under that tape. I'm gonna keep that tape till I can repaint my car. I also used the flex seal can with the applicator tip to cover some dry rot and reattached some weatherstripping on my car but I was terrible with my application so I removed it.

The Flex Seal company needs to give this dude a job or at least some money for showing folks how well their product works in real life, sometimes extreme situations.
You need a mesh agent for the bucket. I repaired a cracked garbage disposal; used a couple dryer sheets to give the flex seal something to adhere to. No leaks for 4 years, until a nut fell down and broke it again.

Maybe you should have used the Flex Tape first on both sides of bucket then spray on top of that.
I fixed my grandma's bird bath with this stuff. It was like 40 years old made of concrete and extremely cracked and just begging to fall apart. I got the white liquid and gave it several coats it worked until it got knocked off its pedestal and now it's just a broken hunk of concrete entombed in rubber

It worked on my gutters, until it rain. Afere many applications even heating up the metal gutter for better flow, it still leaks.
I like flex seal though it’s not supposed to be used in high temp application. As long as it’s used correctly, flex seal can be a permanent fix.
