i thought having an andrew-tate-like character without calling him andrew tate was a great idea mainly because it doesn't help platform or give him any more attention, followers, etc. but anyone who knows who they're referencing can still be in on the joke
I don't see the point tbh because every young person knows who he is already.
@@iss2075 His influence will die by the time he falls off which will likely happen in the year. I've already seen alot of those "alpha grindset" channels stop using his clips and stuff
Doing the character model exactly after him is a mistake in that regard imo. They were doing it perfectly with randy as the vessel. It fits the his character
I personally find it to be a bad decision and weirdly hypocritical given their past.
Imagine the scientology episode, but they never mention the names of the people or scientology at all.
They did this with “the prince and his wife” as well. it’s not about not giving them recognition, it’s about showing how anyone can become these types of people no matter the name if you let your ego control and dictate your life. Not naming the characters to not give them recognition is pointless as we already know who they’re parodying.
Sharon chastising Stan "What have I told you about playing Warhammer on the kitchen table?" also means that Stan, in his geeky way, had been low-key rebelling against his mother all spring break. If only Randy could have appreciated it.
You missed the point completly
@@chabbab6698 That Sharon forgave Randy's bodycount without a word, but chided Stan for such a harmless offense? Nah, I got that joke.
That why I like stan
@@chabbab6698 you missed the irony completely
I looked at it more like Randy tried to get stan off the table for a little while and did all those crazy things and Sharon straight up says "You can't play on the kitchen table" showing us how simple it really was.
Stan is also mentioned in prior seasons with episodes like “freemium gaming” as having addiction problems and using board games to deal with it. So in the episode “Spring Break” him playing board games is Stan’s version of rebelling and having a “Wild bender” of a spring break
Now that I think of it, the Marsh Men might have addiction problems because Stan, Randy, and Grandpa all had episodes on their addictions
@@nickrustyson8124 that would make sense! if your family has a history of addiction, you can be more susceptible. It's why I'm super cautious of alcohol
Betsy is actually voiced by treys daughter! And when she was recording her lines she actually added in the you herself!
No one cares kid
Good to know @YourIdiotFriend007 I wouldn't have known that without you =)
It really shows how making South Park has become less about making a good show and more about having fun for Trey. The character was just distracting, I figured I had missed a plot point from some other episode when it appeared cause it stood out so much.
so is ike hahahaha
@@SwordHandler222 I mean a lot of the newer episodes have been pretty good quality wise, if they're having fun with the series it just means more good episodes to come.
Dickinbaus was easily my favorite episode this season. Of course, I'm a sucker for Butters centric episodes though. He's just easily my favorite character in the show.
I love how it blew up in Cartman's face. Kenny and Butters made bank, while Cartman walked away with nothing. Also parallels the post-Covid special, since we know that Kenny, Butters, and Jimmy end up becoming the richest out of all the South Park Elementary alum when they grow up. Butters's work ethic especially parallels it since we know he ends up becoming a businessman.
@@mattjayce2339 in the new future butters did end up looking like he got the short of the stick however, in both futures he didn't get the best, but a server in a restaurant is 100% a better career decision than an NFT salesman

Atleast they're keeping it fresh :D

Ayy
Hello South Park enthusiast!
I hope Tolkien gets an episode with Kenny in the future. Kenny is the only member of the boys to not get an episode with Tolkien.
Surprised they haven’t done one with them already considering they’re perfect to bounce off of. Tolkien is from a rich black family that often feels the need to act a cut above the rest thanks to stereotypes while Kenny’s family are poor as dirt white trash, with the parents openly abusing their kids without a hint of shame
Tolkien…ahh…using the “new” spelling, eh?
COOL
@VeryTaylor yeah wtf he talking about
@VeryTaylor Token's name was retconned into "Tolkien" in that newer episode. Look it up, newbie.
@VeryTaylor but it did..?
Personally I thought Worldwide Privacy Tour was one of the best episodes they’ve ever done. There is a bit that almost no one has caught but it’s brilliant. Notice how the Prince only does drum fills when he practices as opposed to actually playing a grove. It’s such a deep implication that he never played with anyone.
yeah, i laughed so hard when they were on a talk show and they said princess new book ,,Weh""
I thought that episode was the worst. Nobody cares about the royal family. It could have been a good bit but didn't really need to be a whole episode, especially since there are only 6
That episode was the most pathetic and shallow one. The claim that's been made that Prince Harry and Meghan complained has already been shown to be a total lie made up by media. Some people just like the misogynoir culture war.
@L F you might not care about them but a lot of people do
@@gintaregasiunaite5948 "WEH" fucking killed me.
This really feels like a return to form for South Park and I love it.
That line “A Lord of the Rings prequel?! What were you thinking?!” straight up had me laughing for a good three minutes.

It's even better if you remember that Kyle is like 9 or 10, so that means he made that before he was born

I think they mean The Rings of Power, but the Hobbit trilogy works just as well.
The chat gpt episode is easily a top 3 episode for me. I'm such a huge fan of the druid with a falcon dedicated to combating AI, it's so sick
One thing I think Dickinbaus commented on that you didnt go over was how the laziness of managers is also to blame. You can’t start a business, eat expensive mustard, and live a rich-lux life and expect your workers to be motivated to work for you. Butter’s basically became the owner at that breaking point, and his passion rather than desire for money saved the restaurant.
I’m so upset this was a short season. I know why (the specials and such) but considering they can pump these out with incredible quality in just a week, makes me wish for more. Maybe it’s just me being greedy, but I feel like we just didn’t get enough.

It's really nice to see Kenny and Cartman have their own episode after they'd been distant in past seasons. The boys used to be structured like Stan and Kyle are friends, Kenny and Cartman are friends, and because Stan and Kyle get along with Kenny they sort of just *end up* hanging out with Cartman. So, reinforcing Kenny and Cartman's friendship was both sorely needed and refreshing.
Butters is the 5th boy
I think my favourite thing about this come back is the approach to having smaller arc's. I think a lot of people are sick of tegridy/think its overstayed its welcome but i think cartman's hotdog arc was just the right length. It was funny had got a good few laugh's but ultimately didn't drag on/completely over stay it's welcome. I hope that they do more mini arc's like that for other characters and continue experimenting with the status quo
Did i miss the episode where cartman got his massive breasts removed or was that just in the specials and was reverted once the season started??

I love how Spring Break has this underlying theme that both Garrison's and Randy's partners help them being better versions of themselves.
Great season! I'm really glad Kyle let them release it.
Nice
My one issue with Dickinbaus is that one of Cartmans like, 2 positive character traits is hes really, really good at being a manager. He was very effective running a Parental Revenge Center, he ran a effective burger store with Kyle that one time. He's pretty good at organizing the kids to do stupid shit, Cartmans really good at getting stuff done as long as he actually wants to do it. Dickinbaus is like the one time he was absolutely useless at running a business. Normally hed have made a million and lost it all over some weird plot point about Kosher hotdogs and not being willing to hire a rabbi or something weird.
I guess in a way, when he REEEECHED THEEEESE KEEEEEEDS was another sign of his excellent people-managing skills.
There was also the failing amusement park he bought in an earlier season where he turned it around into a hugely profitable one before getting himself screwed over by selling it and never doing any proper paperworks as its owner which gets the IRS on his ass and ultimately leaves him in debt at the end of the episode.
I see it as Cartman choosing not to take it seriously and instead manipulating Butters to do the work for him.
He can get shit done if he want's to, and what he wanted to do, was have Butters do all the work.
This was a brilliant way to put all your thoughts together and reusing the breakdowns in this way doesn’t feel like a “compilation of videos.” Keep up the great work dude!
Thank you! Glad it came across that way!
I think the Andrew Tate "copout" (rename, w/e) is because he technically hasn't been convicted, so it might be legally irresponsible to put it directly in the episode.
There’s no technically, hasn’t been charged either
@Gino Maurino they detained him for several weeks on the basis of various crimes. While not charged, he is under suspicion and detained.

Toilet paper is made mostly from excess pulp that gets made from the sawdust and branches that timber companies don’t use.
We cut down trees pretty much ONLY for timber. There is enough sawdust and other plants to make paper out of, visit a paper plant.
And of course wood is a renewable resource.
The people that own woods don’t want a one time payout, they’re interested in continued income. And for that they need constant wood.
So they plant new trees for the ones they cut down, to ensure a continuation of timber.
And we all know trees create oxygen, so in a way, using more paper is encouraging the planting of more green trees!
I think the funniest thing about trump is that he actually exists in south park, but since garrison was president, that means trump is just looking at garrison's campaign and is like, "something doesn't feel right..."
He got killed off in "Where My Country Gone." Or a Canadian version, at least.

I respect its originality, a friend of mine really enjoys it. I don't hate it exactly but I think it's kinda boring and most of its jokes just didn't hit with me.

I really enjoyed the Japanese toilet episode, I was in the hospital recovering after nearly dying from Covid, it was a definite mood lifter after waking up for the first time in days and seeing a good new South Park episode
I wish they’d do full seasons again. The specials are great extras but not at the expense of shortening the seasons themselves
I think they’re just trying to speedrun their contract
This season was great! Honestly a note I have is that I hope going forward we have a good solid episode that stars the main four as a group. I’d kinda like to see another Stan and Kyle focused episode soon too.
I don’t watch South Park but I have started watching all your breakdowns because my fiancé does and I am a big fan of your adult animation breakdowns (like the BoJack videos)
i hit send too early on my comment, but now when my fiancé watches the show and wants to talk about the episodes with me, it’s a lot easier because he’ll start explaining to me the premise and i’m like “oh no i don’t need the background, i watched a Johnny 2 Cellos video about it” and then it helps him to tell me his thoughts without needing to synopsis. Your explanations almost make me want to watch South Park.
@@catears_jpg577 you should! I always recommend starting from season 5 and just continuing onward from there. You can watch the early seasons later but it’s kinda hard to get into if you start with seasons 1-4 imo
Wasn't a big fan of Cupid Ye and especially The World Wide Privacy Tour, but after that the season really kicked in for me and I loved the other episodes. My favourite was definitely Dikinbaums Hot Dogs but I'd probably need to rewatch them before ranking the others
Hated Cupid ye episode.... but I'm British so I kinda loved world wide privacy tour

6) Spring Break
5) Japanese Toilet
4) Cupid Ye
3) World Wide Privacy Tour

It should be known, Trey’s high school teacher, who Garrison is based on, passed away a few months ago. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mr Garrison explored through a more grounded perspective because the teacher himself was well rounded, grounded but silly enough to accept the fact he was Garrison.
Just a bit of info from an Evergreen local.
This is the first season in a while that I've watched all of, and all of the episodes are good. It had a good balance of humor, commentary, and also showing the characters as characters, instead of just a vehicle for the commentary.
I felt the same thing! And, the endings now are kinda more “wholesome” than before, a lot more paybacks to the characters like cartman and randy. They are also exploring new characters, it feels like they are trying to focus more on the show and its worldview and character development:-D
@@imsoconfused7684 That's something I appreciate too. There is a level of heart to it too, with how they treat the characters. Even the "bad guys" are getting a chance to grow and develop.
Honestly, thinking back to the longer seasons we used to get, I'm glad these ones are short now. Yes, long seasons had some peak South Park in them, but there were plenty of season where the episode quality varied heavily. I feel like the fact that they don't have to make as much content allows them to focus on just the best ideas. Some of the best UK TV shows were only around 6 episodes a season, I think it's really a case of quality over quantity. The specials are cool too, I like having the format variety and it makes the show very unique compared to other shows. With all the legal trouble, it's hard to say if they'll keep doing them in the future. I hope at least that the specials format lives on in some capacity, if it can't be exclusive to Paramount or whatever happens.
You know what really makes me confused is Trump was actually a character in an earlier season episode. The one where garrison makes a new mode of transportation and has an investors meeting and trump is in attendance. Kinda funny they turned Harrison into trump
That was before Trump made a complete ass out of himself on the global stage. He was too toxic even for Matt and Trey, so they had Garrison kill him off and fill in. Nobody was expecting him to actually win the election.
theres just so much good material for southpark now
also randy going "bro i got fucking shot" to stan was pretty funny
For sure the quality of episodes have been better this year. Although, I feel like creators like you, and Blooms have helped get people interested again. You guys put out good commentary on an already phenomenal show. I know you reinstalled my love for the show, so I just want to say thank you.

the jump in numbers is because south park clips on tiktok started to get a bunch of traction, and unlike family guy when it was huge on tiktok, south park clips make you want to go and watch more south park to get the context of the crazy stuff that’s happening in them, and a lot of young people use tiktok and most of those people are also on youtube so the traction that it gains on tiktok would translate onto youtube
I enjoyed Season 26, the satire felt more natural and the small chunks of serialisation through out the episodes kept the show from becoming too obvious or played out (for me at least). 8/10 exited for the upcoming specials and your thoughts on them.

Personally, I think that South Park as well as Trey and Matt, have done well remaining popular after so long whereas other animated shows (The Simpsons and Family Guy specifically) have outstayed their welcome for FAR TO LONG, it just goes to show that South Park will hopefully never lose their edge.

Worldwide privacy tour was my absolute favourite episode in the past couple of years, proper classic in my eyes it even made my dad turn on south park for the first time in years
That whole episode pandered to boomer culture wars, and that's why your dad watched it 😂
On your point about the Prince and Princess having lived in Cartman’s house not being mentioned. It can brought up later as a tidbit in a future episode. Maybe mentioning that the house had gone up in value as former celebrity house would be a nice way for Lianne to put Eric in his place. Or simply a visual gag of the Cartman house having a historical plaque by the front door would be pretty funny.

it's interesting that the main opinion i see is "we need to stop ai it's gonna take our jobs" and not "we need to restructure society and let ai take our jobs"
ai and robot workers SHOULD be taking over for us. what we need now, I think, is high taxes on businesses and some form of safety net for us average citizens, we're getting to the apex of society where soon capitalism won't work anymore because we just won't have enough jobs left for humans. so instead of trying to find ways to keep ourselves in the rat race of empty work and dead end jobs, we should prepare to replace ourselves.

When I think about how South Park might fill those obligitory episodes to HBO, I think back to when The Rolling Stones wanted to change record labels, but still owed the suits one final song, so they recorded an unreleasable song called Cocksucker Blues, which is a stone cold banger.

In regards to the conspiracy theory; Matt Stone has made it _abundantly_ clear that he knows who it is that's keeping his bread buttered, and to appreciate his circumstantial success... 6 Days to Air used the analogy of van Halen; their creative engine being primarily Eddie with the writing songs and lyrics, but without DLR, it just isn't VanHalen. (Matt is David Lee Roth, Trey is Eddie.)
But I don't see ANY scenario where Matt rocks that boat.
In regards to ChatGPT, I sincerely thought Stan would have to fight against the AI program and learn a lesson about being more cognitive in his relationship à la the Facebook episode where he fights the embodiment of FB.
But because they've done that in the past, would it feel like they'd be rehashing it?
15:15 i would like to add that trees are a renewable resource and tree farms are a thing. Demand for paper means more trees which means more good as far as having more trees goes
The corridor crew video does open up a pandoras box of possibilities, if you saw their breakdown video for it it was not as simple as giving the ai video and telling it what to do, several iterations with their own work added to places the AI cant even begin to create continuity yet. So we still have time i hope
Art doesn't care what people think is or isn't art. Art connects us with strong feelings, if ai does it then it will be used
I hope DikinBaus gets the casa bonita treatment and gets made irl
Casa Bonita was around before South Park though...

How come the boys never act like as a group anymore? In older seasons an episode like DickinBalls would have all 4 boys act together, it would have Stan and Kyle feature in some way. They didn't even speak after the first sence, feels like the broship broke down
