On Ice Perspectives, as the name implies, is a video series created by cinematographer & former Team USA figure skater Jordan Cowan, who aims to inspire the world with high quality, immersive footage of figure skating captured from unique perspectives. Jordan travels to and films skaters of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds, and publishes their routines to social media for the world to discover, share and enjoy for free. On Ice Perspectives’ primary goal is to attract new fans to the sport, in a time when many haven’t followed the sport in 15+ years, and when an entire generation has yet to see skating in real life. Thanks to On Ice Perspectives, millions of people around the world can now understand the beauty and feeling of gliding across the ice alongside the world’s best figure skaters.
On Ice Perspectives is operated and financed by Jordan, with the help of its Patrons. These are people who want to see On Ice Perspectives flourish, and to continue to be able to film and publish skaters independently and affordably, since Jordan cannot receive revenue from ad views due to music copyright laws. Yes, I noticed that section as well. So different from the past when any touch in the ice by anything other than your skates would get marked off! There is some really original, modern-dance stuff being done these days, as these folks show. :)
