The topper looks great however; it is not. It is produced in China and a the BYND company buys them from Alibab and puts their logo on it. I love the look of this cap/canopy but the quality is not there. For a cheaper price point it is great but you risk the quality most people want when looking for a long term solution on their trucks. The RSI, Ali-Cab “style” worth the extra money.

Can you explain why it’s not good quality other than stating where it’s produced? Honestly interested. I see it as an affordable alternative to the smartcap and AluCab. I can’t spend 4-5k for a topper I’ll eventually just put a tent on or a couple of canoes.
@@pattysmakcy4984if your going to spend the $3k on an alibaba knock off, be prepared for 0 customer service or actual warranty process. Just spend the extra 1k and go with an established company that will stand behind their product. These dudes in the video did nothing to design this product, they just slapped their brand name on a 1k Alibab unit.
The only way I’d even consider his product is if they were under 2k shipped to my door.

This looks nice and the price is much better than others. Can you unlock it from the inside if you wanted to sleep in the truck bed? Also, the weather stripping on the outside strikes me as odd. Jesse, how has the cap held up so far ? Any issues with leaks, dust intrusion, or any other quality issues ?
is this the same thing that RSI sells? Looks identical. Can you open the gullwings or rear hatch from the inside? RSI does not open from inside. Basically need to unbolt the thing to get out and RSI version leaks.

What's the static load? He mentioned 450 lbs dynamic on your aluminum spec. Ideally I'd like to put my RTT with 2 campers in it totalling up to 550 lbs with the tent. Do you have the specs for both aluminum and steel?

That’s the only thing so it does have mounting rails but the way there designs you’ll have to get different brackets to be able to mount a prinsu I’m sure u can change out the railing system and put one like a normal fiber glass camper so u can mount the prinsu I just havnt tried yet lol
Can these be taken apart to put away when not using? One thing I dislike about the snug caps is that they’re too big to store. If these can be taken apart to store in the corner of the garage where it take minimal space, this will be a game changer .

Jesse have you had any problems with water or leaks like the RSI? I really like this one and the price is really good.
Luckily not that I have noticed but this does come with silicone to be safe while installing u can silicone everything off , I’m getting leaks from my tailgate there’s cracks in it and from the back of the bed there’s a open spot I have to cover but other then that not that I have noticed and me to just remember this is a “affordable option” keep that in mind ok

If you put a Prinsu Rack on top of the cap. Do that is going to be flush with the roof rack ??

Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll be flush I think if u take the rails off that r on the camper it’ll probably be a little more flush but I think it’ll still be slightly off

@@JesseRizo No worries, I'm sure it will hold up with my intended use for it (mainly to keep things in the bed hidden from plain sight). Honestly, our campsites aren't even 30 minutes off-road and nothing too crazy.

Lot of hate in these comments. So what if they are from Ali baba/China? Bynd 4x4 took the risk, that’s worth something. If you hate it so much then don’t buy it. You take the risk of dealing with someone in China, waiting months to see if your going to get scammed or not and shipping them out to customers, it is not easy or stress free.
There is a problem when they advertise that it’s designed in the USA, & get sued for ignoring a patent infringement lmaoo

@JesseRizo bro I’ve liked your content and I’m sure your boy Chris is trying to be genuine. But dude this cap is a complete piece of junk. It’s poorly made in china. The instructions that come with it are so poorly translated from china. It says “Excellent quality craftsmanship craftmanship and meticulous craftmanship” just on the first page. I’m not saying this isn’t y’all’s fault but I want people to know that what your promoting here could get people hurt on the trail. If you want a mall crawler of a taco. Buy this product all day. You go out in the mountains and ride hard watch the spot welds on the frame of the cap. With a pair vice grips I bent mine back and forth breaking the wields.
Well shit, I placed an order for the aluminum cap a day before your comment. I daily my truck and only take it off-road (fire roads mostly, not really rock crawling) 3-4 times a year so hopefully it'll be able to withstand that.
@@ItsJanHi honestly I hope so to, i reached out to Chris about the cap and I’m sending him photos and maybe they can do something to prevent. We had 1 bad rain day yesterday here in Massachusetts and I was ready have rust spots forming and paint flaking. Do your do diligence for sure. I stood
On the rack the other day and it doesn’t bend or creak so I known it’s tough enough I’m just worried the welds over time might not hold so I’m gonna re do those myself to keep it from breaking loose.

If u follow me on Instagram you’ll see I Offroad my truck a lot so far it’s holding up for me only thing I’ve experienced was I crashed into my friends truck (hitting the camper) and it shifted to the right so I have to realign and tighten all the bolts again but so far the structure seems to be still good like u said I’ll see in time but u got to remember this is a budget camper I had that in mind when I went for it
@@JesseRizo I reached out to Chris and I sent him picture and just waiting to see what his thought and maybe make it better for someone else buying it. It could be just the steel cap as a whole I’m not gonna make assumptions or anything like that. I like to believe that this might be just poor shipping from warehouse oversea’s that these come from and them messing up the order from there and definitely not from Chris and his team. He’s been great getting back to me so far so like I said hopefully some little DIY will make this thing work the way I envision it.
