The short answer to why it's worth spending the extra $20K to get it early? Content. It's a business expense. It generates clicks, those clicks generate revenue.
If you do the math you get $15K worth of accessories.
@@Jethr001 since they're not actually keeping and living with it long term tho, the resale value of those is what rly matters and they probably don't hold 15k of value
Lots of people are struggling with the fact on how much content they’re going to be able to create with this truck.
@@Jethr001Well, sort of. More accurately you get the “promise” of things it doesn’t actually ship with. I’m a fan, but even to me that’s sort of BS.
Internet for life is pretty appealing.
"WE BOUGHT THE CYBERTRUCK SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO!" 😂 This what I heard from these dudes. Lol
So you don't lose money.
Yeah making $ off the 1000 videos coming had nothing to do with it! 😂
I don't think people realize how little you make from YT clicks. It's barely enough to pay for your coffee while making content. That's why so many channels have resorted to baked-in advertising.
If we could only buy a BYD SHARK pickup truck! shame on our govt protectionism regime. We are stuck at buy a POS cybertruck for $100k plus for old tech!
That's a good way of putting it. It does have some cool and unique features, but, for most people, and most typical use cases, is it really a better truck than say an F-150 Lariat with the PowerBoost hybrid package, that's a lot cheaper?
So many complaints about the $20k premium for Foundation series. Hummer EV Series 1 dealer markups were up to $50k over the $100k MSRP
Tesla hit price
Just what in Hell do independent dealer markups have to do with Tesla factory pricing? Oh, I know! You don't save any money buying factory direct.
@@jimjones-pz1tt pricing meets the market. You want the first Hummer the dealer adds $35k. You want the first CyberTruck after 5 years and inflation you pay +$20k for the privilege or you don’t buy. But crying about not having everything on the first models after paying a premium is not genuine. The updates are coming but they wanted it now.
@@alx4571 Elon Musk invented paying for options not delivered with automobiles upon purchase. Idiots enable him.
Your point exactly…..both are trash???
I am super happy that y’all bought this truck! I am excited to see the TFL testing of this rig!
How much is Insurance? Curious in addition to purchase total $$. Thank you
We trust your opinion at TFL ! That’s why you needed you to buy it
Since there is drive by wire now they should just get rid of the small steering wheel and put a joystick like in a F-16 Fighter
It's designed to make you beg for an AI to drive it for you since you can't see anything from the driver's seat
🤣🤣
Can’t believe that you guys didn’t do the dual diff locker offroad mode software update that had been out for nearly a week before you went offroading in Moab.
It’s so biased on their part. It’s crazy.
Even if the truck has locking diffs, there are so many other factors that make it a sh1t offroading vehicle, one of which is how huge and low slung the bumpers are. Go look at an actual vehicle built for crawling. I also pity the person who slips and smacks their head on one of these extreme right angles on the rear. Love Tesla, hate this product.
@@hankkingsley9183 They are called approach and departure angles, if you compare stock trucks the Tesla truck (especially in offroad mode) has great angles for offroading. Better approach and departure angles than almost every stock truck on the market. Look it up for yourself if you don’t believe me.
@@hankkingsley9183 have you compared the actual approach and departure numbers with every other stock truck on the market. The Tesla truck approach and departure angles are actually better than almost every other one. The angles are 35deg and 28deg with up to 17” of ground clearance, which is far better than most. Do your research first.
@@hankkingsley9183 Except its not an off-road truck. Its a pickup that can go off-road.
If Max Headroom owned a truck, it would be this....
If Homer Simpson designed a truck. Seriously, when the CyberTruck concept was first shown on stage I immediately thought of the episode where Homer designs a car. I thought the CT design was a joke.
This is the lightest "full size" electric pickups. it is 300 pounds lighter than the R1T and about 100 pounds lighter than the Lightning extended range. The short range Lightning is about 600 pounds lighter.
I love my Silverado EV WT
Full size, you cat even put a bicycle in the bed and have it fit……just saying…..
@@williamcarter7655 Yes, you can. And the CT bed is 6" longer than the F150 crew cab short bed and the Toyota Tundra Crew cab.
Rivian R1T increased their price by $20k at launch too
They are hanging on by the skin of their teeth and bleeding money.
I have a 2019 F-150 Lariat. It has a camera in the tailgate, the backseat headrests block 1/2 of the rear window, bugs stick like glue to the front end and it only has a 5-1/2 foot long bed.
It still has far better visibility than the CT
cant believe the price went up since it was announced in 2019. haven't seen any other prices go up since then. oh wait...
I reserved one at $55,000 when first introduced. Now it's $100,000. I know inflation has happened, but that's a big difference.
That video is a great ad for the Ford Lightning!
I love when people complain about the time to production and price rise as of nothing happened in the last 4 1/2 years. As a sidenote, I hope whenever they update this, they include a spare tire..
There's no standard spare tire because you can't fit it underneath and it's takes up way too much room in that odd shaped bed.
They stated a price. They should have held to it. The cost of living has gone up for the poor people not for the rich people.
The windshield cost $1900 to replace and the windshield wiper is $75 to replace.
The windshield size and shape is very similar to the 1990 Chevy Lumina minivan. It had a deep dashboard as well.
Ha, yes my parents had one of those. You would get used to the sightlines easily enough, but not cleaning it.
that front portion where you cant reach should be called the inner back front pussay
@@plmn93 I remember those!
I used to think the windshield on my 8th gen civic was super long and had such a compact front end!
I still hate cleaning it, but this looks like a pain to clean. Got to have one of those reacher sticks.
I held off watching any other Cybertruck reviews just to see yours!
The low angle front shot at 20:39 makes it look like a Zamboni
Oh no they will have to go back to Mohab with the locking diffs
How did they not do the software update before they went.

22:34 that window only stays up when the door is open, it's to prevent rattling when you close the door. When the door is closed, you can roll the window all the way into the door just fine.
24:36 FYI
Every other manufacturer builds cars and truck with windows that don't rattle in any position.
Had to control F to see if anyone mentioned this. Nice !
@@jimjones-pz1tt also so sick that when the window is sticking out a little that it resembles a cybertruck
It’s bizarre, I saw one two cars ahead of me on the way to work, and thought I saw a celebrity. Couldn’t wait to tell people.
Thanks for the tour, but that is a hard pass for me.
Will be played out within next 2 months. How does the washer fluid work on yours?
I'm so proud of you both on this video. Well done boys 😊
Door shuts and window goes all the way down 😂

The most important technology that is in the Cyber Truck is the 48 volt architecture that hopefully becomes an industry standards
That does help bring down wire size for heavy draw items, but it's not that ground breaking... Lights and motors simply need smaller wires. It's a cost saving move at the expense of another critical module that can bring the vehicle down (the 48v DC converter).
As someone who is pretty dumb when it comes to electrical engineering, could you give a few points as to why 48v is a big move and what the benefits are?
@b22chris advantages are less current, more power (ohms law), thinner wiring, and safer battery. Same reason cars went from 6 to 12v systems. With all the added electronics in modern cars, it makes sense
@@johnnydee6659are there any disadvantages?
Nope, steer by wire.
This truck is soo stupid that it makes it interesting. It is not something you normally see everyday. Great in depth video fellas. 👍
How do these doors work with ice? In Oklahoma we have at least one ice storm a year. large sheets of ice all over the car. My truck handles i break off a couple pieces and pull the handle, if even that. I wonder about these.
Great review Roman and Co.! So, you took your Cybertruck on vacation to Moab?? I will do the same. Yes, its a little more expensive when accounting for 5 years of inflation, but Tesla added valuable features (4 WS, drive by wire, 48 volt/ethernet architecture, two way charging, air suspension850HP) that make the super car of trucks. Cant wait to see what the after market peeps do with it.
Roman is warming up to the Cybertruck. Nice! Completely agree with his argument that electric vehicles should not be subject for politics. They will coexist with the combustion vehicles for the years to come and will provide choices for us the consumers.
The government is pushing these on us and it is not consumer driven. California is leading the way for electric only and from that, more and more limited personal transportation.
and the future S-curve exponential adoption rate...
I like all your review’s including drag race and off-road. However I am a homeowner truck guy (not work). Any chance we can get a comparison with the other ev trucks doing stuff I do like: throw a yard of 57 stone in the back and drive for several miles and review how it handles (can I make it home safely), do the same with a yard of sand, and it fire wood. Put a pallet of bricks in same things. Stuff a dyi person might do. How does it compare to other ev trucks/ half tons? Or would I need to factor in delivery costs or trailer costs to the price of the vehicle because it can’t carry those things?
Another big value proposition of the CT also, for those of us that have Tesla Solar and Powerwalls already, is that it adds the equivalent of like 8 more powerwalls worth of (V2H) home backup energy supposedly with not additional hardware if have the universal charger. If don't then yeah it's a gateway install but still pretty valuable. "offsets" like 1/2 the value of the truck you could say.
How long do you plan to keep the Cyber Truck? Was it expensive to install an electric charging plug at your office?
I bought it because nothing stirs fascination and excitement quite like this vehicle. Kids lose their minds over it and even the elderly I've come across absolutely love it. I'm a relative nobody but people treat me like I'm interesting and important when I'm in or around this thing. Anybody with a business and decent marketing budget should buy this. Nothing on the road gets as many eyeballs as the Cybertruck does.
Does it have a 3rd brake light? I thought that was a Fed requirement....
I believe it's on the tailgate.
'JerryRigEverything' loves the CyberTruck bed, the perfect shape and strength for his electric snowmobile, which the competitors couldn't handle. He even recharges the snow machine from the CT.
I love how diplomatic Roman is being about this "truck". You can tell he really dislikes it, but he hasn't said anything that can lead you directly to that summation.
Watching these? I'm starting to hate it.
Roman, I am with you. The cybertruck is a game changer. It is a great truck for most people. Made in the USA.
I agree
Most people can't afford it
It’s more of a luxury suv with the luxury suv maintenance costs so I don’t think most will be interested
Northern Lightning - Season 2
We have six weeks to prepare
That blue Tacoma in the back will still be on the road in 20 years!
Longevity will be interesting.
Damnation Ally vehicle was off the 101/170 freeway going through the Cahuenga pass. I remember it well.
You get way more than this with GMC Denali EV (or Silverado) for the same price.
They don't get stainless steel or Superchargers...for now.
They do get Toyota Tundra styling though...and dings, dents and scratches that rust.
17:22 and i don't see why they would do that. nothing should be encroaching on the bed size like that, and the bed is such an important part of any pickup. I can almost see the issue with the back seats. I understand letting them in on the space in the bed, even if it's not a design choice I would have made. the multiple angles of the bed absolutely baffle me.
21:24 as an aside I realized they totally could have fixed the break over angle, thanks to this being a clean sheet design and allowing for some weird tricks with the battery.
but they didn't.
22:36 ....... why? just why?
23:10 that's a lot of rattle for a $100k truck
25:24 the top gear guys broke it on the whoops off roading it, so I wouldn't bet on it working long term.
31:32 but I would also counter with the following question, do the Hummer EV and Rivian have similar modes, or are their batteries just capable of going into deep water without a special mode?
Nathan: I spit on it and it exploded!! 😂
Great video!
Tan-o cover looks great!
Roman, Can you tell me who mines the minerals to make the Cyber truck batteries? I mean the miners are of adult age union workers making a livable wage and working in safe conditions yes? The mining is considerate to the land water and air in that area? If the miners are hurt on the job they have compensation to care for themselves and their families? The heavy equipment in the mines are clean diesel models that fully comply with the US EPA regulations on emissions? Thank you.
I do believe Elon addressed clobalt mining 4th quarter 2023 that they would make sure they don’t buy from those suppliers your referring too. Go check it out. Also hold him to account if he doesn’t.
12 secs in and Negative Nathan enters the discussion!
The offroad mode is pretty cool. It addresses most all the throttle, abs, rear wheel turn off on, etc..
You gotta either give Cole a mic, or before you answer a question, you repeat the question since you have a mic. Because I can't hear the questions and then you're giving an answer, and I have no idea what you're responding to. But also there's already a yellow jeep on youtube called the banana. Matt's offroad recovery has the banana. I think there was a comment on one of the renegade videos that said maybe "lemon drop" could work. I think that name's fine, maybe there are other names, but it can't be the banana. Thanks for good informative videos, guys!
so much love, thought and engineering has gone into great automobiles for 100 years. Tesla seems like a engineering shortcut. Sharp metallic cutting surfaces on the exterior everywhere, including that frunk hood designed to put somebody in a hospital with a head gash !
I'm still waiting for mine! I ordered it on 06-2021... to match my Delorean...
bring it to the landscape store and get 1 or 2 loads of gravel or black dirt or does every truck require a trailer now days. also lets see if a snowplow fits i . also lets say youre getting a boat from a launch ramp will it do that
Smart phone on wheels. Still can't believe Tesla pulled this off. A few nit pick teething things, but got to given them credit for an amazing piece of made in usa tech.
Can't wait to see you guys try out the electronic lockers and off road package on your Colorado two track.
Entry trim will be around 60k plus tax incentive in 2025. Good value
Maybe get tommy or another younger reviewer on this that is more tech savvy
Here is how this truck is doing. I saw one in a small used dealership for sale the original own couudn't wait to get rid of.
Y’all should call it Apple Slice
would be cool if someone or tesla designs a bolt in and plug and play solid axel conversion kit... i want to see all the modular campers and stuff that will be made.. the tent looks cool waiting to see if they launch a drawer system with a fridge and stove
I'd like to see an actual msmt of the clearance, because it sure doesn't look like 16".
It has air suspension.
Bring to MOAB , FnT. He’ll Revenge, let’s do it.
They should have designed the frunk like an airlines overhead bin. That way it would maximize roller bags!...lol
Height adjust? Citroen had that 50 years ago.
I think some of it was the issues were timing because they had it showed right before Covid so that was unpredictable. Inoes had the same issue too because it was supposed to be like half the price too. But with the cybertuck the quality issues are inexcusable. Also the demo truck was way bigger and they had to make it smaller which sucked.
Or like a thousand drag racing videos, but have been waiting for you guys to check this truck out.
Currently v4 Tesla chargers are not 800 v they currently use the same power cabinets as v3
It’s built in America by an American company, that’s good enough for me. Wish they would have toned it down on the wackiness though, I’d prefer if all eyes weren’t on me as I was driving, the attention this thing is going to draw will be insane.
From an Australian perspective, Tesla is effectively a Chinese company. All our Tesla's come from China, which means pricing is much lower , and they also use a lot of Chinese technology, for example batteries from BYD and CATL. From a Cyber Truck prspective, I don't think we will be seeing this for quite some time (no bad thing, from my perspective). Wish they would fast track Tesla Model 2 - but understand Cyber Truck has way more potential to make them money (which they need).
So Toyota is effectively a Mexican company as they manufacture Tacomas in Mexico and Mercedes-Benz is effectively an American company as they manufacture cars in the USA.
Man the OG’s got your truck way later than all the other channels 😢
24:58 to see Ninja cameraman Cole. He's very very shy 🤭
How does it compare to the hummer EV?
They made a movie about it called, "Dumb and Dumber."
I don’t know if the nose of the truck is dirty or is that’s the reflection of the dirty floor
Love it! ❤
Hey Nathan.. dont ever look at a $500k McLarens gaps
Visited the Tesla store in Richmond, TX. All my friends/employees at the Richmond store have been let go. Scary times. They have a CT on the showroom floor. Sat in it, screen is clear and fast. I almost cut my hand getting into the drivers seat. Stainless steel is very sharp. I grab the roof when I get in and touched the sharp stainless steel and windshield wiper. I wish Tesla had handles like all the other trucks. Checking the trip screen of the CT it uses twice the energy as my Y.
@34:00 Tesla didn't fire the entire charger network team, they fired 500 staff. The team handles a global network, and because most of it is already built out, they restructured because they no longer need so many people. If they had not done that, they would have been strung up by Wall Street. All those people will find other jobs on other projects. That happens constantly in the automotive business, and every other publicly traded business. Restructuring is necessary at the end of project cycle.
3:34 Did he say 'a rolling piece of art'??
Nathan the vehicle was parked of the 101 near universal studios
That's right. Thanks!
Should make it with a range extension generator, like that little BMW has.
Agreed it will be interesting to see Rams electric truck with the penstar generator
Range extender is and option

Cool.
it is ugly - I do like the screen for back seat passengers. don't see why every car doesn't have those for the passengers. if it breaks it isn't and emergency to fix it but provides the passengers a nice interface and could have some goodies added to it.
I am not a fan either. That said looks are opinion ONLY.
Everything comes with pulses and minus.
Foundation invitee here. I wish they had kept the 6th seat.
You haven't thought about making one video in to many videos. Spit in pieces and add more detail to each part of the video. How much video you use to how much you record.
One video on each channel at the end of the month on bloopers. Call it June bloopers of the month. Something like that. I know it is catchy.
Could you do a comparison with diesel, gasoline and all the EV trucks....hauling a ton of stuff. Literally, putting a ton of iron in the truck bed and seeing how far they go.
Kinda funny the old dudes review the new technology and the young dudes are reviewing/driving the old
Is that intentional? Be interesting to see the teams swap after each review. Also would be interested in a comparison to the hummer you owned.
Saw one on IG that someone wrapped black and it looked far better. I think a patina paint job would look great 😅
You gave me an idea. Go to the nearest psychiatric ward and have the patients review the cyber truck. I bet they would know the king has no clothes and this "truck" is a joke.
they built 4000 of them many months ago. building 1000 a week for at least a month now so your way off, were well over 10,000 by now.
You guys Should rename the video. We hate the cybertruck and we want you too.
I love my cybertruck.
I would definitely get it if the price was lower. All pickups are ridiculously high right now.
Not TFL who is established but Is it a requirement that every cybertruck owner must start a youtube channel to show it off. Is that the only way to afford one? Write it off as a business expense.
Funny how people like a thing or really don't like it. I was surprised at how much I liked it in person. I've had Swiss Army knife vehicles, Silverados and Jeep Rubicons, for 30 + years. I've used them both to their limits. In person the CT is so solid, clean lined and crisp you can't look away. Towing a camper to northern CA would be to much charging for me and I won't be winching it up Metal Masher in Moab. But how often do I do those things? Bottom line, its the most American vehicle made. Has the most cutting edge tech available and It would crush 100% of my work and 95% of Colorado fun, 5+ hours every direction, on front range.
Cutting edge literally. Should come with a $10,000 cyber band-aid dispenser.
Why?? because its freaking awesome!
That driver's side of the front hood and fender do NOT match up at all. You can clearly see that the hood sits lower than the fender
And they are not "stuck with it", if you own this you can put it on Turo and easily pay for it.
I can think of much much better ways to spend 100K…..
Can't wait to see a review of the $40k version.
This will be the 40K version after a few months of depreciation.
About the bed: Don't all trucks have tapered sides? It's where the wheel wells are. The Cybertruck just uses a gradual slope to conceal them. Also, the sloping part towards the cab is extra space that you wouldn't get in a regular truck. It's angled like that because it follows the contours of the back seat.
Super biased on your part to go to Moab to test its off-road-ability having a software upgrade to give you locking diffs but not updating the software.
43:31 His bias is super, super obvious. The RWD version is going to be $60k BEFORE tax incentives of $7,500 which it will qualify for. That is NOT way overpriced by any stretch. And the one you guys have will be $79k BEFORE the $7,500 tax incentive. These prices are only for Foundation Series, at the very beginning of production.
Thank you!!!! Drives me crazy!!!
When Musk announced the original price it was $39K BEFORE any tax incentives. You are a simpleton.
