Is it just me or does Astrometica look exactly like Subnautica in space?
Exactly what I thought
First thing that came into my mind.
I’m ok with this
Same here. Looks like it's got a lot of subnautica vibes.
Is that what's meant by the 'innovative batteries' ? :D
Fun to do a double on the channel! Hope people connect with this after our poll we ran!
Age of Space seems like Homeworld! Very cool🎉
Age of Space has been on my wishlist for what seems like for ever.
One, even you don't know about LT: Stellar Tactics!!!!
One to add on my to play list :D - Tom
I'm trying to watch all of Your videos about space games and I'm enjoying it very much. Have seen Planet Prospector or Occupy Mars? Both looks nice in my opinion.
Yes I want to play more of those!
Solar Expanse looks like a great and new look at space exploration.
Yeah agreed 💯
Background music giving me nostalgic chills! #MP
Thanks for this! I love space games!
Hah, and background music from Homeworld instantly providing correct vibe and for me instantly changing view on presented game:)
Thanks.
Solar Expanse - some of the shots in your video mimic the 'Expanse' TV series intro, likely intentional on the part of the developers
solar expanse - homeworld theme music. love it haha
the tune is called "adagio for strings".. is a classical piece in its own right, used in the homeworld series
@@KemPeck1701 dont think so? i know the tune your thinking of thats when we return to karak burning. This particular tune is when we go up against the turanic raiders.
@@icer1249 was i thinking of the wrong tune?.. adagio was definately in the vid.. its used at the very beginning of homeworld 1
falling frontier !!!!
This isn't a bad list. I prefer hybrid games the incorporate many of these concepts. Space and ground battles, puzzles, exploration, tech progression, player progression (RPG), etc..
Never heard of them, they look great and are now on my wishlist too, thx
Was the music in the segment about Solar Expanse from Homeworld?
Indeed it was!
Astrometic just looks like space subnautica
I might wanna add Starminer to the list
Fab review of left field games… LTG continue to deliver really interesting options for us all… thanks guys 🐌🐸🤗
Glad you enjoyed it
Never heard about those games, thanks!
Always happy to help mate. - Tom
Great list of games that I had never heard of. 😂 Dark Moon and and Age of Space look great going to wishlist.
Cheers for the support! - Tom
Remnant Protocol looked interesting. Right up until the Dragon appeared. I’m not sure it’s thematically consistent, and makes the game look more like an asset flip.
I am curious how it all works together, but I'll keep the benefit of the doubt for now. - Tom
What is that game in the upper right screen at 0:30 seconds? Looks pretty cool!
thanks for raising up indie stuff
Astrometica's art style of vehicles and buildings looks a tad too similar to subnautica, could be a coincidence or inspired by I guess..
It looks exactly like Subnautica without any water
It could be the artist. Real artists have a "style" they incorporate into their work. It doesn't surprise me such a artist would get hired at another studio. It's also possible that this artist, sells their models and other art work for all to use.
Recently subscribed to your channel. You guys do a great job. I will be watching many more. THanks for sharing. Eve online is dead...unless you gank...moving on.
What is the music playing in the last ones background? Anyone know the title to the piece?
It is the Homeworld theme. Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.
These were all singleplayer, same genre scifi survival base building, character development but in multiplayer any suggestion for such games that *just* come out? Not titles that are for a long time in EA as those i most likely already know of.
Multiplayer in this genre seems to suffer. I’ve got a lot of time in Star Citizen and EVE is really inaccessible to a lot of new players because orgs have it locked up. I’d love to see more MMO in space…
@@Roob_65 been playing Space Engineers. The construction system, interactable blocks, hinges, rotors, wheels and what not lets you build anything from turret towers, to rovers of many sizes to space stations and dreadnoughts. Mujltiplayer depends very much on the server and its rules, i avoid the vanilla public servers with a passion ^^. Yet there are servers that are well administrated with nice mods. Mining ressources having refineries and then assemblers for components which allow you to build blocks is intuitive. As it did not start out as a multiplayer/pvp orientated game, it is not optimized for it, which the community hopes will change for SE2 that is in the making.
The games you mentioned are too fixed in what one can do, the game loops are predefined which allows in many ways for a more even game play, but also makes it stale very fast. At least for my taste.
Wow! Really good list of games I never heard of! I'm gonna wishlist everything 😮
I would also like to add some games which I'm very excited about:
Menace (Battlebrothers in Space)
Fragile Existence (Space Colony Survival RTS)
Sanctuary: Shattered Sun (Basically Supreme Commander)
Mars Tactics (Red Faction and XCOM crossover)
Lunar Crust (Basically a Space automation game like Dyson Sphere Program)
Thanks for your work ❤
Thanks for the reply and watching mate. I will def take a look at these games you mentioned too! - Tom
Great video. Thanks for highlighting so many interesting titles.
However can i just ask what's the name of the game in the top left quarter ofthe screen, that's featured in the intro when the screen splits in four (0:40 or so) ?
Cosmoteer is the game mate - Tom
@@LTGamingCZcams Thank you for your reply. I thought cosmoteer was in top right. I was wondering what next to it. (Unless it's the same game)
Also, just wanted to say thank you for highlighting Helium Rain. It looks fantastic. It's just the game i was looking for.
You commented on the music from The music from Astrometrica. Unfortunately Lunar soil used the same music so it's probably a royalty free they found. Hopefully it's still representative of the game.
I used the Astrometrica music twice.
@@LTGamingCZcams Got it. Sorry kind of jaded with the industry at times.
I was excited for age of spacw until they changed direction and went for a 5v5 type gameplay and got rid of the singleplayer aspect. Did they change direction again???
I think they have limited resources so ambitions have to be scaled back but I think they still plan the singleplayer side- Tom
my wishlist is getting fatter every week
Same here 😂
What's the game in the upper-right quadrant during the intro? Not covered in the actual video?
Think you joined the discord right mate? Cosmoteer for anyone wondering - Tom
Soon...
Game looks cool mate! Let us know if you are looking for channels to help with it - Tom
Homeworld 3 or Sins of a Solar Empire 2 anyone?
We have covered Homeworld 3 extensively on the channel. And we don't touch Stardock games.
@@LTGamingCZcams What's wrong with Stardock? Although I don't really play any of their games. I do love their software such as Windowsblinds etc. I do own the first Sins of Solar Empire and Galactic Civilizations III games. But I just couldn't get into them. Far too complicated for me lol.
BC3KAD!
You did not say much about the story for edge of Space.
Btw, the Max Payne motive is a bit distracting for Space games topic. :-)
Tom likes this track!
@@LTGamingCZcams Yeah, it's in A LOT of your videos, but for anyone with a great musical memory it's super distracting, because instead of focusing on the subject matter, i'm seeing Scandinavian dude slow-motion diving with two pistols all over Manhattan.
@@flare242 haha maybe you should see this as a positive! Il pass it onto Tom ;)
@@LTGamingCZcams But i want to learn about new games, i already went through Max Payne. :-)
Is it too much to ask for a space game where you can walk around in a (functional) ship as well as pilot it seamlessly? Every game that has ever come close to this has been missing one vital component to complete the sense of immersion. Star citizen yes but you might as well flip a coin to see if it's going to work or not
What makes Astrometica any different from “No Man’s Sky”? Seems to be the same game, minus the “simulation” thread…
