[...] "As homeowners we're not worried about production as much as staying out of the hospital" - J. Thorman, Florida, 2023. LOL :D - Cheers Mate!
About the subfloor problem (around 1:00:00)... you're in Florida, and no one who's lived in Florida would be surprised to learn that the subfloor was only half-fixed. The surprise would be that it was fixed correctly.
I am watching you paint as I am painting my bedroom, I appreciate you saying any home owner can fix their home... I am a 63 year old widow and I am redoing my home one room at a time, and I have run across more rude salesman thinking I just a stupid old lady,! It's sad, I want to get a can of that spray you said to use on windows to paint them, anyway sorry for the rant but thank you for helping me dedo my home I enjoy your channel
Jeff be safe. Learn to hold down trim with your right hand and plunge saw with your left hand when your on the right side.
Your running commentary is either educational or funny! So entertaining ! Thank You, very fun to watch you in action, sharing endless insights!
Finally finished and that room looks amazing the colors are dead on. Thank you for sharing

Just had to say I subscribed today after doing alot of drywall repair! I must say it came out really good! You gave me the confidence. Ty so much!! I enjoy your videos!!!!
Glad to hear it! Cheers for trying something new!
🤣🤣🤣" That's quality" .............🥰 ".....a mish/mosh of material ...." 🤣😆......This was so very informative !! probably one of your very best videos
I used a textured paintable wallpaper on my parents mobile home paneling after priming and it looked like textured drywall. Amazing look.
The card is wonderful, it was great and informative
The technique that you showed in the doorway to the hall is one I have used a few times, not because I am a carpenter, but because I got the idea from a HS mechanical drawing class.
Hi Geoff. Youre an absolute master. Thank you
These DIY tutorials are wonderful. Even implementing a few of them saves you loads.
Glad to hear that!
Hey Jeff, love from Canada! Always enjoy your videos, thank you for the endless free tips and tricks and knowledge you bring us! I was wonder do you have a link for the mirrors used in the video/ where they're from? Cheers!
I actually saw subfloor screws at a menards (US) for the first time about a week ago, so we may finally be getting them
Lemme offer a tip on cutting the shelf without tear out on the off-side surface: Put a simple strip of painters or masking tape along the cutline. Should cut cleanly. Trick I learned cutting thin veneer-finish plywood. Perfect every time😊
Mine is 100% 2x4 walls that are 16" on center. I know this because I've seen nearly every stud as we're remodeling! It's 40 years old though, built by Scott Housing Systems in Georgia.
I also taped/mudded/painted a vinyl-covered gypsum wall... It was so much more work/time than hanging/mudding/painting new drywall would have been that I refuse to do it again.
My mobile home is a 1995 Horton home , it's constructed pretty well.
I love this guy 😂
love the channel..... Why did you not reinstall the bottom track for the closet doors? was there enough height for it?
Currently demoing a basement bedroom due to water and termite damage. I’m confident in the rebuild thanks to your videos. Only question now is the moisture barrier… if I can’t seal it between the studs from the other rooms. Is that okay or do I need to tear more out to connect the barrier to the other rooms?
(My perfectionist in me is telling me to tear more out and get all termite damage out, but my wallet is telling me it’s in the basement and isn’t structural so I don’t need to)
What do you recommend to prime wood paneling besides the sherwin-Williams primer? I’m having trouble finding something that covers the wood texture/grain of the paneling. I want my wall to look smooth and show no apparent wood look
Hey maybe it was a glitch on my end, but one second Jeff was installing an angled shoe shelf in the closet and then it jumped to wall refinishing?
One more thing, did you ever compete in a drywall race lol?? I'm pretty sure you would win hands down!! Ty again
I live in a 1984 Nashua in Kalamazoo, MI. I have been redoing my place gradually...and yes! I come across those damn staples. And poor plumbing. Everything you've mentioned. The other day I took a section of paneling off, thinking recessed storage. Well, not deep enough BUT 2 major wires running right thru the middle ,not protected whatsoever. My list could go on n on. I'm very interested in watching what you do to yours. I have done almost every room, both baths, living room, breakfast nook, back bedroom n family room. I've started on kitchen n my bedroom. Have had a few hold ups.
I need to do all new subfloor n the ceilings. Had to wait on them as my places needed to be leveled. It was sinking due to high water table here.
I'd like to add a 3rd occasion to install LVP, if your open to it. Third reason is if your a landlord in reasonable areas, because you can't be there 24 7 and you don't know what your tenants are going to do to the flooring. Sneak pets in, drop screaming hot cast iron Dutch ovens, moving furniture around between tenants. However I personally don't know how I feel about it in the bathroom. Some other investors I hang out with do, and they've had problems because they didn't get it tight enough around the tub and caused water damage to the sub floor.
In regard for the EU people having lint on their wall, I recently swapped to Sam R7 rollers, first time I had basically 0 lint. Combined with a Flexa (AkzoNobel) product about 40-50 euro a bucket of 10 liters.
Hi I want to cover my windows for winter,to keep the cold out. The best tape to use.
use the 2 sided tape that comes with the plastic film for covering windows. that stuff actually works
I'll be doing the same to my mirrored doors in my bedroom. I noticed you didn't put the bottom track back on or did I miss something?
Two reasons I ask
First is I had previously done the mirrored doors in my front foyer. The biggest problem I had was the doors were so heavy they bent the top track out of shape and the doors would be rough/fall out of the track. This was like this when I bought the place. I replaced the top track with a new one from HD but could immediately tell it was flimsy (even though it said heavy duty) and wouldn't hold the weight and eventually fail which it did. What I ended up doing is buying bottom rollers to take some of the weight. I had to Macgyver them on using gorilla glue and shims but they've held up enough that they've proven themselves to do the same in the bedroom.
Second is because when I had done this previously I had secured the bottom track before attaching the doors. I found the doors hard to open. I solved this by unscrewing the bottom plate and adjusting freely to where they open smoothly and then attaching and am wondering if this is indeed how you are supposed to do it.
Greetings from Barrhaven!
I guess the 5mm hole size for the shelf clips is common in the US because of IKEA. They're from Sweden, so their stuff is in Metric
What happened to your right thumb during the window trim install?
thank God for Caulking !!!!!
When he sleeps, he’s still explaining shit to us lol
LOL. Cheers!
What paint color was used on the accent wall? It’s a beautiful color 😍.
Oef yeah shelf clips, the biggest ripoff EVER. In the Netherlands you can buy 4/8 of 'm for like 10$ or you can buy a box of 100 for 12$... Idk what they think
How come you didn't spray there texture rather than rolling it?
I don't like to set up a spray machine for an accent color. too much work to set up and clean up
Hey Jeff, what about personal protection equipment? Breathing dust and paint mist can't be good for you.
Jeff, I love your videos but sometimes I cant commit to 4 hours. If you time stamp them then that would be great! Thanks for all the content that you make, I've definitely used your videos more than once to make improvements to my house.
He's already uploaded all of these videos separately
@@DanielDickin did not see that, thanks!
We put it together for the folks who want to watch on tv. Will add the chapters when I get some time
How long it’s take to get a job done like that ?
about 6 or 7 days!
Maybe you should tighten up the screws by hand and not a drill. Rather than knocking down the product cause you caused the problem!
That blanket in the intro is really bothering me 😭
😂
Don't forget to add the cost of labor.
when you do it yourself there is no labour cost. Cheers!
Where is your mask?!?!?! LOL.
Great video, but consider cutting it down somewhat. Most people are going to skip past a 4 hr video
He's already posted these videos individually
fix it for $2500. sell it for $25000 more?
Youre not a DIY'er tho, big difference
He literally did it himself
With decades of experience behind him, thats what I meant. Dont pretend otherwise.
