    APC makes replacing the battery on the BR1000G or BR15000G easy. No tools required. Just purchase a new battery, pop the lid, slide the old one out and new one in and you're done! Very easy to do. Don't spend more money throwing out your old UPS and buying a new one. Replacing the battery is the best way for both the environment and your wallet. If you have a BR1000G, you can get the BR1500G battery and do an upgrade for your unit. The only difference between the BR1000G and the BR1500G is the battery amp hours. So for those who want a little boost in keeping your devices alive during a power outage, buy the replacement battery for the BR1500G and pop it in to your BR1000G UPS. Why are you using a UPS to power only your laptop? Your laptop already has a UPS, the eternal batteries. Just curious.

      @TonTimeTech  Před rokem +3

      I have my laptop and three big monitors running through the UPS now mainly to power the three monitor during a power outage and for the surge protection as well. The UPS use to be part of my gaming setup, but I bought a bigger UPS for that since it's more power hungry and am using this UPS just for my laptop dock and monitors for work. Also, if there's a power failure, the laptop stays on which is good, but my main displays will be powered with the UPS as well :).

    a little help here i wanted to as my battery drains fast like 2,3 minutes its 4 year old apc pro 1000 ups could it be battery issiue or other cause i dont wanna spend money on battery if other issue

      How old is the battery inside the UPS? Does the UPS tell you the battery needs to be replaced? If not, check how much watts your devices is pulling. Keep in mind the more things you have plugged in the battery side, the faster the battery will drain. On my setup, I only put my computer and ONE monitor on the battery side, and the rest on the "SURGE" only side. That way if there is a power outage, the computer stays on longer.

      Ah yes, definitely replace the battery on that unit. Your computer should stay on longer from there.@@buster1764

    I have a pro 1500 ups and got 7Ah 12v battery as it was the only one available in my country. The load i have is just 20%, but the time shows 0 Mins it is fully charged. Any idea why?

      Is it an APC battery? I find that APC products works best with APC replacement batteries. Aftermarket ones don't work well from my experience.

    • @EditCoach

      @@TonTimeTech no... it's a non apc brand

    • @TonTimeTech
      @TonTimeTech  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@EditCoach I see, if possible I would stick with an APC branded one. I find some of the cheaper aftermarket batteries don't hold as well or are not held to a higher standard as direct from APC. Sorry for the problems you are having.

    I got a used br1500g but the door is stuck, any ideas?

    • @TonTimeTech
      @TonTimeTech  Před rokem

      When that happens, you just got to man-handle it. This can happen because the battery got warped and got bigger causing the plastic to warp as well. I would try to gently pry it with a flat screwdriver to slide the panel off. If it's really warped, you may break the sliding rails on the door and need to glue it back.

      @@TonTimeTech I just used a big screwdriver to open it. Got the battery out, burned and expanded.

      Oh and thanks. Much easier than the industrial APC's. I had to rebuild it by hand. Truly ugly

      @@davidlopanful Glad you got it open! Yup, that happens when not swapping out the battery when it's dead. Hopefully the unit still works when you pop in a new battery. Good luck with that!

    First off you don't need to shut it off to replace the battery. They are designed to allow the battery to be replaced while running so as to *not* interrupt power to what it is powering. That is why it is called a *UNINTERRUPTIBLE* Power Supply.
    And what should be at most a one minute video showing how to open the UPS and replace the battery drags on for ten minutes due to a lot of blabbering. I know because it just took me less then a minute to change the battery in mine. Starting at 1:52 in the video and ending at 2:08 I had all the information I needed and came looking for.
    Sorry just telling it like it is.
