    Good video! I just finished the same job on my1995 V6 Sierra, except that I did it from underneath on a creeper (I'm 72 with a bad back so I prefer not bending over the truck).

    Just wondering if it is possible to put a mark on the inside lower half harmonic balancer so if rubber decays and loses the mark original Mark can be determined and marked with paint

    I didn’t see the timing mark on the old one lined up with the mark on the block. When you installed the new one it was on the timing mark. Is it possible to not have it timed right?

    Some vehicles have red Loctite on the built pully mounted on the harmonic balancer. You will need to 400F heat to break it loose

    Do not hit your harmonic balancer with a hammer! Use a harmonic balancer installation tool!

    What do I do if the the first part of the installer won't come out

    • @matthewklima3419
      @matthewklima3419 Před 5 lety

      I ended up having to re install the bolt and torquing it down until I could back it out. I would recommend not tightening the first part and have it finger tight(as the instructions would recommend). I don't know why he even used pliers to be honest. Some of these puller kits also have a socket end which would much easier.
